Yes, he was a priority add for me prior to the season based on some private EV data I gleaned from a source. He's only improved. I doubt we see him this season though.

I mean, I don't know how to frame something like this without a lot more information. Why would you consider trading JRod? What's the league depth like. Do you really mean 12-team, keep 4 or is this a 20-team, keep 40 situation? So much goes into a decision like this.

The missing element right now is BABIP. Is he a true low BABIP hitter, normal, or high?

Throughout the minors, he outperformed in BABIP. Right now, he's rolling a .240 BABIP.

He has a loose launch angle right now (i.e. ranges from soft grounders to infield flies). He never profiled as a loose LA guy so that'll probably tighten up. If it doesn't, this BABIP is close to correct. If it does, he takes off as a player.
