It's desperate times down the stretch in my NL keeper league, Nick. I hadda pick up Jerar Encarnacion and Andres Chaparro this morning to fill in for injured players. I'm hanging onto first place by my fingernails. Tell me they might help. Lie if you have to. Exaggerate. face_with_rolling_eyes

oh my god dude, those pickups are the dopest. so much production coming your way.
the league woke up today and was just like "nah, this is over now".
Cole World
11:41
Is $15 G-Cole too much to pay in AL only keeper for Bryce Miller and Kyle "Not Dead Yet" Tucker? (Tucker would sub in for Mullins/Langford/Springer once revived)
Nicklaus Gaut
11:42
No, I don't think it's too much
You're counting on Tucker hitting the ground running post-revival but it's solid enough bet for total production ROS

Always a McBrides maid...
11:43
Thoughts on J. McBride?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:45
He's playing out of his shoes (and will come back to earth because he's not a totally different player) but the underlying metrics really aren't that bad. Considering how many PAs he's getting (granted, the team sucks) he could compile his way to enough to continue being startable
I'm sorry I keep asking about Andrew
11:45
Cleanup Hitter on bad team: Andrew Vaughn or Spencer Horwitz. (OBP league)
Nicklaus Gaut
11:45
How dare you!
But this is my favorite type of Andrew Vaughn question - when I get to pick the other guy
Gimme Horwitz
Houcking up Hairballs
11:46
Houck has had quality starts of questionable quality last few times out. How deep a league to start @HOU? What about Pivetta?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:47
Depends on other options but I'd rather only start Houck in 15-team (and above) but would do it in a 12-team if neccessary
Starting Pivetta in 10-teamers and up

Have I played myself back into potential keeper status for H2H categories (OBP)? 28 runs, 8 HR, 17 RBI, 2 SB, and .343 OBP over my last 30.
Nicklaus Gaut
11:50
Possibly - depends on teams/# of keepers. But even with the last month of improvement I'm still not totally sold
11:51
My concerns still go back to limitations from a balky shoulder so I'll need to see a bigger sample to gain trust

Holding on to $11 Flaherty in an AL keeper league. He’s a FA after this year. Hoping he comes back to AL. Any thoughts where he might end up. Thanks
Nicklaus Gaut
11:53
Hard to say, league wise - teams are always thirsty for top tier pitching and next year's FA class is super top-heavy (Burnes, Wheeler, Fried) a lot will depend on those dominoes
The Horror, the Horwitz
11:54
Volpe vs. Spencer Horwitz in AL OBP league. Auction calculator says Volpe easy, but also gives him 50 more ABs. Meanwhile he's batting 9th while Horwitz is 4th or 5th most nights
Nicklaus Gaut
11:56
I think 50 ABs more is on the high end but I can tell you from doing a lot of research on PAs from different lineup spots/offenses that the extra quality of NYY's offense helps Volpe more than one might realize in terms of closing the PA-gap
If I had my excel sheet handy, i could tell you more exactly
LifeisJustaFantasy
11:57
Who is closing out the 10 more games or so the White Sox might win?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:58
I'll say Kuhl to be fun but Brebbia is probably still the smarter bet (even if struggling)
what a dumpster that team is
just in case anyone needed a reminder ; )

Thanks for these chats! Yepez, Call, Chaparro— any value to rostering any of these fellows ROS/2025?
Nicklaus Gaut
11:59
They all have some ROS value (I like Yepez the most, by quite a bit) but I wouldn't expect tons in 2025.
And you're welcome!

How worried should we be about Freeman's finger injury?
Nicklaus Gaut
12:00
super worried. so swollen he couldn't grip a bat and now needs imaging
12:01
could absolutely tank his ROS fantasy value given the Dodgers are likely to be su-uuper conservative with it
T(win)s
12:02
How would you rank the Twins rookie starting pitchers ROS?  Really been a solid group - Varland, SWR, Festa, Zebby
Nicklaus Gaut
12:02
Some pretty solid youngsters!
And I continue to love me some Festa
Festa >>> Varland > SWR > Zebby

Is $4 J Adams a good hold for an NL closer next year?
Nicklaus Gaut
12:04
No. Suarez is signed long-term so Adam is likely to be in the same role
