Not a wasted roster spot, and I like him as a late-round pick. Yes, he has barely played above Double-A and never hit more than 18 home runs in a season. But those 18 home runs were in just 92 games last year in a place (Arkansas in the Texas League) that depresses right-handed power. White is probably going to bat seventh or eighth so a massive breakout is unlikely. But he should be some pretty cheap power that you can get for free.

Carter Kieboom? Will the Nats give him every day ab’s, or platoon role with A. Cabrera?
Dan Harris
12:37
I think they'd love to give Kieboom the everyday job and let Cabrera be the fill-in, utility infielder as necessary. But it's really going to depend on if he can hold his own with the bat. He obviously had a terrible cup of coffee last year, but his minor-league track record shows enough that he should be a .250-.260-ish type of hitter with decent teens power. That should be enough to hold the job. But it's not like you should be excited about him fantasy anyway.

How do you feel the minimum 3 batter rule will affect closer stats this season?
Dan Harris
12:39
I think closer stats are going to be more affected by the late start and truncated schedule than the 3-batter rule. I think managers are going to manage less for the save, and more to deploy their best relievers whenever the situation arises. But as for the three-batter minimum rule, I think it should have a negligible impact.

Analysts always talk about launch angle and hard hit rate and expected stats but hard to know what they mean in a vacuum. Any way to explain it better?
Dan Harris
12:42
It's a good question and one that i think gets lost sometimes. Improvements in Launch Angle are generally good. But if your launch angle is 50 degrees, well then you're popping the ball up on every ball in play and that's . . . sub-optimal. MLB average in Launch Angle is 11.2 degrees, hard hit rate is 34.5%, and barrel percentage is 6.3% You can find all of those MLB averages at baseballsavant on any player's page. But although hitting the ball hard is always good, launch angle really needs to be considered in conjunction with those stats to glean its meaning.

In a 10 team mixed league with no keepers; what side of this trade do you like better....Kershaw and Correa or Bregman and Buxton?
Dan Harris
12:43
I usually like the best player but my days of relying on Buxton in any capacity are currently over. So give me Kershaw and Correa.

Just want to say how awful I feel for Trey Mancini. But since this is a fantasy chat, I'll ask if you think there are long-term implications for him and any notable short-term implications for the Orioles?
Dan Harris
12:45
Yeah, there's almost always something every year that reminds us that baseball players, first and foremost, regular people. From a fantasy perspective, I don't think there should be long-term implications for Mancini assuming that he fully recovers. So, in keeper formats, I'd expect his growth to continue. For this year, it's more playing time for DJ Stewart but that's not something to get overly excited about.

If baseball starts late June,  is there a service time issue that will keep prospects down or encourage teams to bring more up?
Dan Harris
12:47
I'll be honest, I'm not positive on this because I don't think the final details have been worked out yet. Players won't lose a year of service time even if the season is canceled but I'm not 100% sure how that affects minor-leaguers. I think, overall, the late start will likely lead to more minor-league players getting the call this year, because there should be expanded rosters and potentially no baseball. So, personally, I've moved prospects up my board a bit.

Have you posted your overall rankings somewhere we could access them?

Ugh, you know what, I haven't, and that's totally on me. I'm part of the expert consensus rankings, obviously, but I haven't set up a direct link to my rankings. I will change that, for both football and baseball!

We all want that late-round breakout pitcher. Who is yours?
Dan Harris
12:51
There are so many, so it really depends on how deep you want to go. But a guy who I think has a really good chance of breaking out is Mitch Keller. I haven't gotten him in many places because he seems to be a little bit of an industry darling, but given the switch to a more analytical pitching coach, his raw stuff, and frankly, just the oddity of his outings last year (go look and see how often he was rocked like crazy in the first inning last year), he has a good chance of truly breaking out. Not my favorite late-round pitcher necessarily, but definitely has a good chance of breaking out.

Do you see Willy Adames progressing in 2020? Thanks
Dan Harris
12:54
We know that prospect - and really player - growth isn't linear. Adames certainly saw a power jump last year and is just 24 years old, so you could easily see him continue to grow. I'd like to see his walk rate get back to the double-digits like in the minors but, certainly, I expect him to continue to grow this year. Whether that's worthy of fantasy consideration, however, is another question.

Hey Dan, I'm having this crazy Roberts in 8 and Luzardo in 10 mindset generally every draft...skies the limit for these 2 right? And does lux really have the value of these other 2
Dan Harris
12:56
I have Robert ranked 69 (so 6th round) and Luzardo 77 (so 7th round), so if you can get them in rounds 8 and 10 respectively, you're getting a steal.I have Lux 156th overall so not in the same class, especially not this year. I do like him long-term, but also not as much as the other two even then.

Hey Dan. Kluber, Montas, or Luzardo in a H2H points league?
Dan Harris
12:57
Ugh, it's so close, really. I believe I have it Kluber>Montas>Luzardo but within like 5 spots total. All good options in points.

If there was one tip you could give someone who has never played a points league but is starting this year, what would it be?
Dan Harris
1:00
Points leagues are great! Sounds pretty simple but focus on real-world stats more than fantasy stats. In other words, if a player is a better real-life player (i.e., he gets on base more, he throws more innings), then he's probably going to be better in a points league than you'd traditionally think of him in fantasy. Here is a points league primer I wrote that should give you some guidelines (https://www.fantasypros.com/2020/01/categories-league-primer-fantasy-b...)
Thanks for all the great questions today and sorry if I couldn't get to them all. Stay safe, stay healthy, and I'll talk to you all again soon!
