Not much changes--don't overthink it. I'm bumping up guys who might get more PA from the NL adopting the DH, I'm bumping down top-tier SPs, bumping up guys who were hurt going into the season and bumping up young pitchers who would have previously been on innings limits.

In the National league, who are your top 3 setup men to possibly takeover as closer?
Bobby Sylvester
2:48
Seth Lugo, Ryan Helsley, Seranthony Dominguez
Drewminator

If you are drafting today, rank these pitchers in order of best to worst......Degrom, Verlander, Cole Buehler, Flaherty Kershaw.
Bobby Sylvester

deGrom, Cole, Buehler, Verlander, Kersha, Flaherty for me

How would you rank Houser, Quintana, Porcello & Gibson in a redraft that also counts QS? What would change if it was a dynasty league instead? Thanks, man!
Bobby Sylvester
2:50
Quintana, Porcello, Houser, Gibson and Houser would move to #1 in dynasty but all else the same

J.A. Happ looked great in spring training part 1 (13 IP, 7h, 1bb, 16K, 1hr, 1.38 ERA).  I know it's a small sample size against lesser competition, but he claims to have revamped his delivery to improve his balance and his velocity was up.  Any thoughts on whether Happ can recover his pre-2019 form this year?
Bobby Sylvester
2:50
All of his underlying metrics those years screamed regression and that is exactly what we got. I wouldn't expect the bounceback. We've seen far less pitchers dominate for two-start sample-sizes.

Will M. Gore have impact if 2020 returns.
Bobby Sylvester
2:51
He could for sure but I'm imagining he pitches out of the bullpen if anything. They are going to take it extremely easy on his electric arm.

I’m in a dynasty league and would like to know your thoughts on wander franco? Is he going to play this year? If so what’s his upside? What round would you draft him in?
Bobby Sylvester
2:54
His upside this year as a guy who just turned 19 is legitimately Justin Turner. His longterm upside is.....how do I say this without sounds like a loon........Kirby Puckett with more power at shortstop. I don't forecast him playing much this season, if at all, but he could help the Rays even right now. Won't draft him until the last two or three rounds in redraft but in a dynasty startup, he has to be a top 80 overall pick. I'd reach for him in the 6th

Hey Bobby, thanks for hosting this chat. Just curious of your opinion, what if the MLBPA does agree to a 50
Bobby Sylvester
2:55
You are welcome, Marcus--it's my pleasure! I doubt they do, but it wouldn't change a ton from a fantasy perspective. We likely wouldn't even start until mid-August if that is the case which would mean all injuries are out the window.

I'm banking on RP James Karinchack to have wicked ratios and such as a last round or second last round flyer .. agree?
Bobby Sylvester
2:56
100% agree. He could be this year's version of the recent breakout RP's like Josh Hader, Kirby Yates, Brandon Workman who come out of nowhere to be elite closers. It would require an injury to Hand or a meltdown though

Love your show!  What do you make of EVERY Twin player having such a great 2019 hitting season?  Do you predict they all will “regress?”
Bobby Sylvester
2:57
That lineup had a ton of upside as it was and I am convinced they just realized it and the production is here to stick. Garver and Arraez probably take a step back but everything else seems sustainable.

Last year Chris Towers suggested drafting a team with all-Dodgers for your pitching staff to give you good SPs (Buehler, Kershaw), good *value* SPs (Maeda, Stripling, Hill, Ryu in Rounds 12-16) and ready replacements like Urias at end of draft. That was projected to yield a 3.44 team ERA and 1.17 WHIP while keeping most early round picks for hitters.  I'm blind-siding you here, but any thoughts on a similar strategy this year, given LA's personnel gains/losses like Maeda, Hill...Price, Wood and May and their expected draft costs?  PS - Enjoyed your panel discussion at PitchCon!
Bobby Sylvester
2:58
Thanks for saying that, Larry--PitchCon was fun! Yeah, I have no problem whatsoever with drafting any or every Dodgers' SP. Likewise, I think you'd do well to grab both Nate Lowe/Jose Martinez for cheap and you'll have basically Freddie Freeman out of two 20thish round picks

Is Reyes Moronta worth a deeper league stash for saves? That bullpen is hideous
Bobby Sylvester
2:59
In a deeper league, yes, but he is outside my top 45 RPs right now. He does have a chance to close and has more upside than anyone in that pen.
Adam
2:59
With such a short season, are you considering stashing for next year yet in keeper leagues? In a 50 game season, Severino, Sale, Thor are beginning to look like grab and stashes
Bobby Sylvester
2:59
Great question and absolutely. Each of those three should be 50 picks next year so as long as your 12 team league is keeping at least 5, they are worth grabbing now.

That is all for today's live chat. Thank you, all, for joining me and I'll catch ya next time!
