Good afternoon! Thanks so much to everyone joining today's chat. Hard to believe, but we're into Week 8 of the NBA season. Couldn't be more excited to talk fantasy hoops today. Let's get into it!

Should I make this trade, ESPN 10 team points H2H league, I give up Luka Doncic, Dejounte Murray, Jonas Valanciunas and get Domantas Sabonis, Trae Young, and Kristaps Porzingis???
Zak Hanshew
3:00
I think this one is pretty even, but given Young’s inconsistencies and KP’s injury issues, I’d rather have Luka, JV, and Murray – when trades are so close like this, you always want to be on the side that gets the better player – in this case, Luka - Murray and Luka offer a bit more consistency and upside as well.

In a league with one valuable IR spot (COVID world we're in), do you feel it wise to grab n stash Nurkic. I keep going back to last year where he was a difference making beast upon returning from his leg injury. Thoughts?
Zak Hanshew
3:01
I’m all in favor of grabbing and stashing Nurk for the home stretch. Of the injured players out there who may be on the waiver wire, he has the most upside to help you out when he returns. He’s rostered in 86% of Yahoo leagues, so I’d stash now before another leaguemate does.

Hi again lmao, i sent one earlier but was wondering if you could compare that one to this or just tell me about this trade, ESPN 10 team Point H2H league. I give Luka and Kanter and receive Trae Young an Domantas Sabonis.
Zak Hanshew
3:04
Kanter will head back to the bench once Nurkic returns, which will probably be within the next month. So basically, I look at it as the deal is… send Luka and receive Trae and Sabonis. I’m hitting accept on that one every time, brother!

In regard to the other offer you mentioned, I like this better for your team
Kyle

Even with young being on an upward trend lately and sabonis playing as a top 20 player?
Zak Hanshew
3:06
Right, Young is on an upward swing, but ATL is deep, and there's a chance he swings back down once key players get healthy. I still like the Luka side of the deal more. Sabonis is a guaranteed stud, but Murray is still a top-35 guy and no slouch

Would Kristaps be an upgrade from murray or jonas?
Zak Hanshew
3:09
When healthy in a points league, I'd take KP all day over Murray or JV, but health is my biggest concern. It depends on the trade package and team build, but it's a really tough one-for-one swap scenario for me

Hey Zak, I'm really solid at guard in my points league (Brogdon, Sexton, Fox), Center (Embiid) and 2/3 forwards (Durant/Middleton), but that 3rd forward spot has been a struggle, with Lauri Markannen inconsistent and now out a month. I have Patrick Williams to replace him but I'm wondering if there's an under the radar forward you like that I could acquire for Eric Bledsoe+ that you think I should look hard at ROS.
Zak Hanshew
3:10
Hey man, that’s definitely a solid team! I assume Thad Young isn’t available on your WW. If he is, I’d grab him in a heartbeat, or trade Bledsoe for him if he’s rostered.

For guys who might be available, Josh Jackson is a great add and only 40% rostered in Yahoo leagues. He does a lot on offense for the Pistons, and the team just traded away Derrick Rose and dealing with injuries in the backcourt. Plus, Blake seems to be a shell of himself and misses a lot of games.

Some other dudes with relatively low rostership – Bobby Portis, Hamidou Diallo, Miles Bridges.

Overall, I'd take Thad, Josh Jackson, then the other three I mentioned

Thanks so much for the help, with the kanter deal would you just do kanter and luka for sabonis and young or would you add in jonas or murray for kp?
Zak Hanshew
3:14
Happy to help, man!

If you could deal Luka, Kanter and JV for Sabonis, Young, and KP, do it!

You always hate to part with a stud like Luka, but you're getting so much in return, it's worth it

ROTO:  Van Vleet and Sabonis or A. Davis and Gobert
Zak Hanshew
3:24
This one is super close, but I'd have to take FVV and Sabonis. Both offer a ton of production across the board, and on the other side, Davis has seen more rest this season and Gobert offers nothing in the way of triples, dimes, or FT%

10t 9cat h2h, ad dipo for tatum siakam
Zak Hanshew
3:26
Another close one, but Siakam is starting to cook, Tatum has been unstoppable all season, while AD and Dipo have been taking more and more rest nights off.

I like the Tatum/Spicy P side

10t 9cat 2h2 dipo for Cj McCollum
Zak Hanshew
3:39
If you've got a super deep roster and can win without Dipo, I'd consider it. But if you need to win now,  I absolutely wouldn't make the move.

Push comes to shove, I'm not making the deal if I'm the guy with Dipo, just because of all the uncertainty with COVID-19 protocols , absences, and rescheduled games. I'd rather have someone on my team who can produce solid numbers for me now rather than hang on to CJM for a month in hopes he comes back as good as he was to start the season.

Thoughts on Larry nance?
Zak Hanshew
3:41
He's out for at least six weeks after yesterday's surgery on his finger, which puts his earliest return sometime near the end of March. Once again, Cleveland isn't competitive, so I can't imagine the team rushing Nance back prematurely - If Nance is on my squad, I'm happy to trade him for whatever I can get right now

Thoughts on John Collins ROS?
Zak Hanshew
3:46
Great question. I was actually just looking at his numbers the other day and thinking about the roller coaster he's put me through already. Coming into the season, I wasn't too high on him because of all the additions the Hawks made (Bogdan, Capela, Gallo). Collins has underwhelmed relative to last season and to where you probably drafted him, but over the last couple of weeks he's been really really good.

Over his last eight, his numbers are pretty close to what they were in 2019-20.
He's a top-45 guy overall so far, but he's on the rise. With De'Andre Hunter out for potentially two more months, I'm really looking for Collins to be an elite option the rest of the way

Responding to the dipo for Cj trade: who do you think will be better come playoffs? I’m pretty much locked into playoffs already because of my amazing first couple weeks. Thanks for the response
Zak Hanshew
3:48
Glad to hear your team is rolling already! McCollum started the season on fire - better than he's ever played-- will he play that well after dealing with an extended injury-related absence? I don't know. His ceiling is higher, so if you need the upside to take down the other competitive teams in your league, CJM is your guy. But if you're looking for the safer floor with a smaller range of outcomes, it's Dipo.

Do you see a Jarrett Allen breakout happening this year?  I know a lot depends if they move Drummond....
Zak Hanshew
3:55
It all depends on if they move Drummond. We've seen Allen have some big nights since coming to CLE, but Drummond is still the guy.

If he's moved, an Allen breakout is all but assured. He's got huge upside. I think Cleveland moves on from Drummond by the deadline, so Allen is a firm hold for now if you have him
