Hey everyone! Thanks for joining. My name's Kyle Yates and I'm one of the hosts of the FantasyPros Football Podcast! I'll be taking the next hour to answer your Fantasy Football questions! Let's get started.

10-team, .5PPR, 1-QB, Dynasty         I am a RB-needy team, lacking a true RB1, and have the 1.08 pick. Thinking of going with Justin Jefferson, assuming he’s not taken earlier. My current RBs are Lev Bell, Ingram, Conner & Chris Carson. Do I need to adjust my strategy and plan to reach for a RB like Ke’Shawn Vaughn, or should I stick to taking the best WR available?
Kyle Yates
1:02
Great question. I try to go into a draft without being locked into a specific strategy and see how the board plays out before my pick. In a lot of my rookie drafts so far, I'm seeing players like Dobbins and Akers go around the 1.07/1.08, so there's a possibility that you can walk away with one of those players there. Otherwise, you could take Vaughn there and chase your need and be fine (I'm a big Vaughn fan). Or you can take someone like Justin Jefferson if he's there and then look to trade someone else from your WR corps to balance out your RB room.
1:03
My recommendation would be to not chase needs and instead take the value plays and figure out the rest later. In this situation, it all depends on who is still there at the 1.08.

Do you see Anthony Miller taking the next step in the Bears offense with possibly a new QB in 2020?
Kyle Yates
1:05
I do! I have Miller fairly high in my rankings if Nick Foles is the starter, which I'm projecting to be the case. Trubisky wasn't able to keep the offense on track last year, which led to a lack of rhythm and everything was all out of sorts. Foles will be able to execute the offense, which will open up scoring opportunities. Allen Robinson and Anthony Miller are going to see all the targets they can handle this season with guys like Riley Ridley, Ted Ginn, Javon Wims, Darnell Mooney, etc. behind them. Miller's a great Dynasty buy low target.

Keeper question: (10 team, ppr) A J Brown or Devin Singletary, cost 11th round pick or Arron Jones or Odell Beckham cost 2nd round pick, need one? (am keeping Zeke with my first round pick) Thanks love you guys work!!!
Kyle Yates
1:06
So AJ Brown & Devin Singletary can be kept for 11th round picks or Aaron Jones & OBJ for 2nd round values? I'm comfortable going with AJ Brown in that instance. Brown could have the potential to finish as a WR1 this season if things progress the way they did last year...Singletary will remain in a change-of-pace role. And Jones and OBJ are too risky picks for that high of a pick. I'll go with AJ Brown there.

What are your thoughts and expectations for Darius Slayton in year 2 of this offense?
Kyle Yates
1:08
I like Darius Slayton as a low-end WR3 this season. He may have the potential to finish higher than that if injuries occur elsewhere in the WR corps (which is certainly in the realm of possibilities), but this offense should spread the ball out pretty evenly. That is going to limit his overall upside.

Do you think Rheem Mostert can become a clear cut # 1 RB in the 49er rushing attack? I don’t see Tevin Coleman as anything more then a change of pace back? Your thoughts? Thanks
Kyle Yates
1:10
I think he'll be considered the No. 1 RB in SF...however, I don't know how much value that's going to equate to from a fantasy football perspective. Shanahan prefers to spread the wealth at the RB position, so it's hard to picture Mostert receiving 200+ carries in 2020. This may just be a backfield that I try to stay away from in redraft leagues.

What would Darren Waller's trade value be in a 0.5ppr 10 team dynasty league? I'm conflicted on if i should accept a trade offer where I give up Waller&Diggs for Kittle when I'm clearly rebuilding.
Kyle Yates
1:13
This is the battle that you have to have when operating Dynasty rosters...you have to try to find foundational pieces for your roster to build around though and Kittle is just that. Waller was so valuable last year because of the amount of targets he saw. With Ruggs, Edwards, Bowden, etc. all coming in, that's going to limit the overall amount of targets that Waller is going to see in 2020. Diggs is a big question mark in Buffalo because we don't know the type of passing volume this offense is going to have...I'm comfortable making that move to get a cornerstone piece for my rebuilding roster.

Hey Kyle, love your work man. If you’re picking 8-12 range this year in PPR what are the players you are most wanting to grab at the back of the first round?
Kyle Yates
1:14
In that range, I'm looking at RB and no one is looking more enticing right there than Joe Mixon. Mixon's going to go off this year with an offense that should take a massive step forward. Talent has never been the question with Mixon and the offense should be putting him in scoring opportunities every single game.

In a ppr keeper league would you trade Nuk Hopkins for Zeke? My other keeper is mccaffery.
Kyle Yates
1:16
Nuk certainly comes with questions this next season. While I still like him for fantasy football, it's going to be hard to see him repeat the type of performances he's put up the past few seasons now in Arizona. They spread the ball around a ton and Hopkins is going to have to make up for a lack of targets with touchdowns, which are incredibly difficult to project. Zeke's a sure thing at the RB position and should be a top-tier option again next season.

1:16
Who would you prefer between Jordan Howard and Matt Breida?
Kyle Yates
1:18
Jordan Howard, easy. Breida is coming in to be a change-of-pace back and has never seen more than 153 carries in a single season. Howard has proven that he can handle a large workload and the Dolphins are going to want to get back to the run game in 2020. Howard's one of my favorite Dynasty buy lows right now.

How would you rank these QBs for fantasy this season? Kyler, Dak, Wilson, Watson, and Allen.
Kyle Yates
1:20
Right now, with my initial 2020 projections, I have the following order:

  1. Kyler
  2. Watson
  3. Prescott
  4. Wilson
  5. Allen

All are right in order there from QB3-QB7. Those will certainly change by the time the season rolls around though, but those are my early projections.

Dynasty ppr trade: Todd Gurley and AJ Green for Clyde Edwards Helaire.
Kyle Yates
1:21
This is honestly a push to me...both Gurley and AJ Green come with long-term questions. CEH is going to be tied to one of the most prolific offenses for years to come. I might honestly take the CEH side, but that's super close.

Who is your RB1 in 2020 fantasy football rookie drafts?
Kyle Yates
1:23
According to my Dynasty Big Board, which you can find pinned to my Twitter profile (@KyleYNFL), Jonathan Taylor is my RB1. He simply graded out higher for me than CEH and Swift, but with that being said, they're all in the same tier for me. Whichever one you want to take at the 1.01, I'm not going to complain about it.
Billy
1:23
Who's your WR1 in 2020 fantasy rookie drafts?
Kyle Yates
1:24
Jerry Jeudy sits atop my Dynasty Big Board rankings, simply due to how highly he was rated going into the draft. I'm not in love with his landing spot, but he'll still have value for fantasy football.
Tom
1:24
Are there any potential free agents that you feel should be targeted in dynasty rookie/FA drafts? Some guys that are pretty far off the radar that aren't likely rostered in most dynasty leagues that are worth drafting or adding ahead of the season?
Kyle Yates
1:27
This question has multiple layers to it because it all depends on who's currently on your waiver wire. That can vary dependent upon league format (SF or 1QB) and how deep rosters are...but two names that I think have a very strong possibility of being on the majority of waiver wires are Salvon Ahmed (RB - San Francisco) & Russell Gage (WR - Atlanta). Ahmed was a UDFA, but he landed in the perfect scheme for him and I could very easily see him sticking on that roster. That's purely for deep Dynasty leagues though. In more shallow Dynasty leagues, Gage could still be on your waiver wire. He's the slot WR there in Atlanta and played well when he saw the field last year. He's a perfect addition to the bottom of your roster that you could actually roll out week in and week out.
CJ
1:27
what do you think the odds are that wee see Jake Fromm have any real value in the next three years?
Kyle Yates
1:28
Very low odds. Unfortunately, the backup role in Buffalo isn't one that's going to equate to much fantasy value...even if Allen were to go down. Fromm doesn't fit this offense well and he seems destined for a lifelong backup QB role in the NFL (think Chase Daniel).
CJ
1:28
I see that you are lower on CEH than others. why is that? I drafted Swift instead of CEH in my rookie draft with the 1.02 pick and it's been hard to find someone that thinks that will end up working out.
Kyle Yates
1:30
In my grading scale, CEH fell down a bit due to his low pass protection grade. So, while he maxed out in terms of a landing spot grade, he still fell below guys like Swift and JT. In KC, he's not going to be asked to pass protect though, so it's the ideal spot for his skillset. Swift is the more talented back though, in my opinion, so I don't hate taking him over CEH. They're all in the same tier for me, but you're buying into the Lions offense short-term versus the Chiefs offense. It could work out long-term, but that's the short-term outlook...
CJ
1:30
My top 5 Wrs heading into the season (PPR league) are Tyler Boyd, Jarvis Landry, Michael Pittman Jr, Brandin Cooks, and Bryan Edwards. What order do you see them finishing in? Do you think Pittman has the potential to be my #1?
Kyle Yates
1:32
I have them currently ranked out as:

  • Tyler Boyd (WR29)
  • Michael Pittman Jr (WR35)
  • Jarvis Landry (WR40)
  • Brandin Cooks (WR54)
  • Bryan Edwards (WR70)

1:32
Where are you taking the top QBs in dynasty rookie drafts? Assuming Burrow and Tua in the top 2-4 picks, but then how do you value Herbert, others?
Kyle Yates
1:33
My answer honestly depends on format. I'm going to assume that this is in SF...in that case, I'm comfortable taking Herbert at the back of the 1st round. After that, there aren't any QBs that I'm excited to take the rest of the draft...Hurts could pay off, but you need a Wentz injury for that to happen. And Jordan Love is probably not going to see the field for three years.

1:33
What is Calvin Ridley's value in 12 team .5 ppr SF in terms of 2020 rookie picks? Guy wants my 1.05 straight up for him but is he worth more than Dobbins / Swift / Lamb / Jeudy  at that position?
Kyle Yates
1:34
That's a steep price for Ridley. I wouldn't pay that premium...that's simply drafting him at his ceiling, which I'm uncomfortable doing. I'd rather wait until Ridley has a down game or two and try to acquire him at that time, which will mean that his "stock" is lower than it is right now.
