Afternoon, everyone. Sports are pretty much back. NFL looks like a go. Let's talk some football

How much upside does Lamar Jackson have over Patrick Mahomes, if at all? Where do you think Patrick Mahomes will finish at the end of the season? How much upside does Derrick Henry have?
Dan Harris
1:02
I mean, not sure how much more upside you want based on what you saw last year from Jackson. They're both outstanding options, in a tier among themselves. Mahomes could throw 50 touchdown passes, Jackson could rush for 12 touchdowns. Both enormous upside. And Henry, again, we saw what we can do when the Titans just lean into him down the stretch like they did. I'd expect them to be a bit more cautious with him given the long-term deal. But he can obviously finish as a top-3 back pretty easily.

At what point do you throw out lack of college WR production for guys like DK Metcalf, Terry McClaurin, and Deebo Samuel?  Is it reasonable to expect them to sustain success when they were never great producers in college?
Dan Harris
1:03
I legitimately do not consider their college performance at all at this point. What's the need? We've seen what they can do in the pros, on their current teams, in their current system. What they did in college is entirely meaningless to me at this point.

1:03
Who do you like better for Dynasty: Leonard Fournette or Melvin Gordon?
Dan Harris
1:04
Not a huge gap for me, but given the age difference, I have Fournette four spots higher in dynasty among RBs.
Davante Adams
1:04
Hey, its Davante Adams here, WR for the Green Bay Packers. I am playing in a 10 Team League with my friends and am wondering which spot is your favorite to draft from.
Dan Harris
1:05
Thanks for stopping by, Davante. I just did a player video for you and I'm quite a fan. I think you have to take No. 1 if it's offered, just because CMC is so far ahead of the field. But I don't mind getting third either to lock up either CMC, Saquon, or Zeke. After that, I'd just as soon draft late. A ton of good borderline first-round talents this year.

1/2 PPR League.  Gurley or Helaire?  Ridley,Woods or  Metcalf?  THANKS
Dan Harris
1:06
Blech, I don't like to be fading CEH but I'm just not convinced he gets the workload, especially out of the gate. I'll take Gurley. And Woods is my guy.

David Johnson or Ronald Jones?
Dan Harris
1:06
Johnson for me, pretty easily.

What do you think on going early on TE in a 10 team PPR league? Would you pick Kelce/Kittle instead of which rb/wr?
Dan Harris
1:08
I really have no issue with it, especially in a 10-teamer where positonal advantages are even bigger. I'd be fine with grabbing Kelce after the four RBs (Kamara as the fourth in PPR) and Thomas in a 10-teamer. Kittle a couple of spots lower.

1/2 PPR pick 2. Nick Chubb, Amari Cooper, Aaron Jones or Lamar Jackson.
Dan Harris
1:09
The running backs for me.

How do you think Hunter Henry will do this year?
Dan Harris
1:11
Meh, fine. I'm not fading him entirely but I rarely end up with him. Just don't think the Chargers will lean on the pass much with Tyrod to start the year - I expect much more conservative play, leaning on the defense, etc. Around 60 catches, 700 yards. A fine season for a tight end, certainly startable, not a star

A podcast-related question:  how many times has Bobby threatened to fight someone on the pod?
Dan Harris
1:12
Average of 1.2 times per podcast. We're at like episode 515 of NFL or something, plus 300 plus of MLB. You do the math.

Hi Dan I hope you have your mask on,  struggling with my keepers was fortunate to have a loaded team last year. 4 keepers no draft pick loss for who you keep, standard league . Who would you keep out of Lamar ,Zeke,Kamara,D Adams, Hopkins, Godwin, Kittle
Dan Harris
1:13
That is . . . quite the team. Zeke, Kamara, Adams and Kittle for me.

Is it a good strategy to pair up a WR with his QB?  Let’s say I pick Metcalf and I have a choice of Dak or Wilson in a later round.  Normally I would take Dak, but I’m wondering if Wilson would be the smarter pick for double points.  TY
Dan Harris
1:15
Not a good or bad strategy IMO. You take the best players. I get that there is temptation to either double up (for double points) or avoid doing so (so you're not sunk by bad weeks). But unless I'm looking at four players or something from the same team, I usually don't worry about it. I have Dak higher, so I pick him.

How do we evaluate David Johnson? Opinions on him are completely diversified, can we trust him over Ingram and Montgomery?
Dan Harris
1:18
Yeah, I'm a buyer on Johnson at this point, and have him valued much higher than consensus. A lot of targets up for grabs in Houston even with Brandin Cooks there, and those often go to the RB. And look at what Carlos Hyde did last year, and he did little n the passing game, an area where Johnson has been productive.  And honestly, I'm not sure why so many seem to feel he's done. I've watched the tape, he looked pretty standard prior to his injury, and he was a top-8 back before he got hurt. So, for me, given his situation, I'll take him over Ingram and Montgomery, personally.

I'm worried about rookies during this pandemic, does this mean we should avoid drafting them because of continuity?
Dan Harris
1:20
Rookies are certainly in a bit of a tough spot given the truncated offseason and no preseason games. I think the biggest impact is on wide receivers, though. Running backs don't really need to develop "chemistry" with their quarterbacks, but wide receivers do. The way I've dealt with it is to be generally lower on rookie wide receivers than I otherwise would be in a normal season. But I still have shares of Lamb, Ruggs, Jeudy, and Reagor so, not an all out avoid philosophy or anything.

If you wait late for a TE which one would you pick, Ian Thomas, Hayden Hurst, Goedert or Jarwin?
Dan Harris
1:21
Hurst, and it's not particularly close for me. He's 10th right now in my tight end rankings. Think a big year is coming.

Is it worth picking up Junnu Smith as a bench stash if you already have Kelce? Full PPR.
Dan Harris
1:22
I like Jonnu Smith (not as much as my boy, Kyle Yates, though!) and I do think he's got a ton of upside if everything breaks right. That said, if you're taking Kelce with an early pick, that's obviously your starting tight end so there's no reason to waste another pick on a tight end.

Who has the most upside out of Amari Cooper, Stefon Diggs or Allen Robinson
Dan Harris
1:23
All three could have enormous years if everything breaks right. With that said, Cooper has the highest ceiling if everything is perfect for all three.

1:24
Hey Dan! I'm in a tough spot in Dynasty Half PPR. I'm desperate for RBs at the 4th spot of the Rookie draft and it's looking like I'll be left with a choice between Dobbins or Swift. People keep talking about Dobbins' long-term value for obvious reasons, but how should we look at Swift's in comparison? Thanks in advance and looking forward to writing for you one day!
Dan Harris
1:27
I think the bottom line is that you hear how the Ravens talk about Dobbins, particularly at the draft and particularly because they didn't have a need for him, and it's hard not to be overly bullish on him in dynasty. You know what that offense is going to look like for the foreseeable future, and given Ingram's age, you know the backfield will go to Dobbins soon. Swift is just in a worse situation with the team/O-line right now, so for me, it's not all that difficult a choice

Hi from Norway! 10 player 1/2 ppr superflex league - how early should the top 6 QBs be picked up?
Dan Harris
1:29
That's really a function of your draft, honestly, and depends how quickly QBs are being snagged. That said, I'm hardly rushing there. Once you get past the top-2, there are tiers, but there are plenty of good quarterbacks, so I'm not rushing. In that league, my guess is my QB6 would be around pick 45 or so.

Julian Edelman is currently going behind Marquise Brown, Tyler Boyd, & Brandin Cooks in Consensus ADP - do you feel that's appropriate or is he being disrespected?
