Hey everyone! Kyle Yates here of the FantasyPros Football Podcast! I'll be taking the next hour to answer your fantasy football questions. We're one week away from football! Let's have some fun.
Sean

Format: 12 team standard 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 2 Flex, 1 TE, D/ST, K, 8 bench. Any specific advice for this type of league? Especially with having the extra flex spot, wait on QB/TE?
Kyle Yates
1:02
Hey Sean, this really doesn't alter my strategy much. All the extra FLEX spot does is add more flexibility. I'm still going to be waiting on QB and TE, unless a George Kittle or Travis Kelce fall to me a bit in the 3rd round or something. Otherwise, I'll grab a Hayden Hurst, Jonnu Smith, or even Blake Jarwin late at TE.
Chris

Going late QB in a 16 man league left me with Burrow and Rivers. Is that acceptable to start the season or should I be looking to make a trade? 10 teams took 2 QBs so best waivers are Taylor, Carr, Bears TBD, Fitz
Kyle Yates
1:04
I'd personally drop Rivers to pick up Tyrod. The Colts go up against the Jags defense in week one and there's a possibility they run the ball down their throats with JT, Mack, and Hines. Tyrod goes up against the Bengals in week one and his rushing ability vaults him up into top-15 consideration right away in that matchup. Otherwise, Carr has a nice potential shootout matchup against the Panthers in week one too.

Hey man, great show. Best QB to pick from Brady, Ryan, Allen, Brees, Wentz and Stafford? or do you think getting somebody like Newton, Burrow or Big Ben is better?
Kyle Yates
1:05
I have Josh Allen rated the highest due to his rushing production. The next up would be Matt Ryan, personally. It all depends on where you have to take them in drafts though. If we're taking ADP into account here, I want Newton all the way down at QB15 versus Allen at QB8.
Chris

I have cook and sanders as well as both their handcuffs. Should I prioritize keeping both mattison and Scott all season? Or drop at week 1 if starter is healthy?
Kyle Yates
1:07
The difference here is that I do not view Boston Scott as an insurance RB. Scott's role will pretty much be the same whether or not Sanders is in the game. Corey Clement would be the one who would see an uptick in carries. So I'm fine dropping Scott if a better option is available. I will hold onto Mattison all year though. He's one of the potential league winners if Cook misses time.

I currently have Wentz as my QB (13th round of a 12-team). How do you feel about him this year? Would you prefer Burrow or Minshew instead? Standard QB scoring, 1 QB league.
Kyle Yates
1:08
I love Wentz this year. People are backing off of him and I'm fine soaking up the value this season. He proved that he doesn't need the elite weapons to be great for fantasy football. The 13th round for Wentz is insane value and I'd be very happy with that. Especially week one against Washington.

In what order would you draft these players in a superflex PPR league? McCaffery, Barkley, Elliot, Kamara, Mahomes, Jackson
Kyle Yates
1:08
In a SF? CMC, Jackson, Mahomes, Barkley, Zeke, Kamara.

What are your thoughts on DK Metcalf this year?
Kyle Yates
1:10
I'd love to have him as my WR2 on my roster this season. The sky's the limit for his upside. He was targeted heavily in the red zone last season, but was horribly inefficient with a 29% catch rate on those targets. If he can even come up to 50%, you're talking about the opportunity that Metcalf leads the NFL in Receiving TDs.

Is S Watkins/M Hardman worth using a bench spot on or is there better players to take a shot on? Looking for the most up side I can get!!!!! Thanks and keep it the good work,
Kyle Yates
1:11
If you want upside, it's hard to look elsewhere other than the Chiefs offense. Either one of those guys are fine bench stashes. Hardman would probably be the one that I'd lean between the two, but either one can be plugged in as a FLEX in a matchup that you know the Chiefs are going to be throwing even more than normal.

When would consider taking a QB if the scoring is 6 pts per passing TD instead of 4?

Kyle Yates
1:12
This actually doesn't really alter my strategy all that much. It might move around a couple of the QBs as far as their placement in my rankings, but as long as it's still a 1QB league, I'm still fine waiting on the position. Matt Ryan would be a perfect later round target in this scoring format.

How far are you dropping Alvin Kamara in non-PPR if he does not get a new contract in the next 24 hours?  #6, 7, 8, lower?  Below CEH?  Mixon?  Others?
Kyle Yates
1:13
He's back at practice now, so I'm not moving him from my RB4 ranking in Half PPR rankings. In Non-PPR, he does drop down to RB6 with Mixon and Cook jumping him.

Is Penny worth holding onto in dynasty format?

In Dynasty formats that have an IR spot? Absolutely.

Pick a starter for the rb position in New England for week 1.
Kyle Yates
1:15
Gross.

Sony Michel right now with the news that I have to go off of. Harris dealing with a hand injury and might not be good to go for week one. But you're going to see Rex Burkhead mix in and maybe even Lamar Miller still at this point. I don't want to touch any of them. Including James White unless I'm desperate in Full PPR leagues.

would you consider using T.Y as your wr2?
vomit 2 love 1
Kyle Yates
1:17
Absolutely not. I don't want Hilton on any of my rosters in 2020. Injury issues and a revamped receiving corps lead me to think that Hilton could be one of the most overdrafted players this season. I'll let someone else take him.

raegor worth holding onto or no?
Kyle Yates
1:18
If I have a IR spot, yes. Otherwise, I want to take the shot on someone who might break out right away. For example, if a Bryan Edwards is on your waiver wire and you don't have a IR spot, I'll drop Reagor for Edwards. I want that spot on my bench to find potential breakout stars.

12 Team Dynasty and I have decided to go young and try to build for the near future. Any advice on how to engage teams for their young talent? Teams at this point are not receptive to moving young guys for my established talent and i am figuring i may just have to wait until owners have an injury on their team (which i hate hoping for) or wait until closer to playoffs when some teams hopefully realize they will need to upgrade to have a legit shot

In Dynasty leagues at the start of the season, pretty much everyone thinks that their roster is good enough to win the championship. You have to wait until about Week 3 before you'll find people in your league that come to their senses and realize that they have no chance. That's when they'll start auctioning off their players for future draft picks.

Any reason to stay away from Kamara after his epidural?
Kyle Yates
1:20
We'll be talking to Dr. Chao about this on the FantasyPros Football Podcast tomorrow, but everything that I've read up to this point indicates that it's nothing super serious. Make sure to listen to that episode, as I'm sure he'll have great insight.

.5ppr Keeper league would you rather have CEH & Juju or Dobbins & Adams?
Kyle Yates
1:21
The keeper part of this question makes me pause for a second with Dobbins, but I'm still going to go CEH & Juju.

1:21
Starting a 10 team dynasty league ppr. I have pick number 8 . Is it crazy to aim for CEH and then take Taylor at the turn?
Kyle Yates
1:21
It all depends on who's there on the board, but I don't think that's crazy. Both of those players could make immediate top-end contributions year one. I would just look to balance my roster out a bit with proven veterans later on in the draft.

Thx for your help. ***DYNASTY*** Would you trade or keep Fournette being offered draft picks for him? If you move him and have Armstead would you target Devine Ozigbo as a handcuff? Stay safe.

Right now, I like the 2021 Draft class. However, we can't pretend that it doesn't come without even more risk now than usual. Unless I'm being offered a potential top-3 2021 1st round pick, I'm going to keep Fournette and hope that he gets the shot eventually in this backfield.
