Felix Comic Art Chat 3/16/2018
powered byJotCast
Tim D

I'd like to see a Bertram or Mooneyham MD piece.
Felix Lu
1:53
Tim knows!
So does Bryan!
Reba J
1:53
Hey Felix - when you say a first-timer bought Death Bed #1, do you mean new to you or the first thing they ever got was a complete issue!
Felix Lu
1:53
Sorry...I meant this is their first complete issue.
Matt Dicke
1:53
Hi Felix
Felix Lu
1:53
Hey Matt!
Ian G
1:53
Should an artist sign their pages or leave as is? Most don't sign that I've seen.
Felix Lu
1:54
Your choice. Doesn't make any difference to me. The only concern is that if they do sign, to not sign in the art.
The one exception I made for that is Goran Parlov, since he typically signs in his art, and it's kinda Euro-classy when he does it anyway.
Matt Dicke
1:54
what would you do if some of your originals had faded lines would you restore or leave as is
Felix Lu
1:55
Depends. I'd let the original artist touch up. Not generally in favor of having some random third party do it. But there are exceptions.
Brian W.
1:55
Relatively new Felix customer here. Just popped in to say, "Hello!"
Felix Lu
1:55
Hey!
Stephane Beauclair
1:55
Hi Felix, any convention planned in Europe?
Felix Lu
1:55
Not for 2018, but possibly 2019.
Jason Wood
1:55
Felix — NJ Manufacturers. To be fair the rider wouldn’t come close to covering the emotional trauma
Si
1:56
Hey Felix, any chance of more artists process vids ? Would kill to see some more James Harren,Garry Brown inking.
Felix Lu
1:56
Yes, got more planned, keep watching!
FredfromBrussels
1:56
any update in the forthcoming Steve oliff sale ?
Felix Lu
1:56
Keep watching!
Patrick R
1:56
Will you and Jason be doing another panel at Heroes this year?
Felix Lu
1:57
Jason will! I'd like to, but not 100% sure I'll be there yet.
Matt Dicke
1:57
my insurance covered all my lost art when i had a flood recently. This was home owners insurance and it was in my office not at home. Erie but they are only in a few states on the east coast
Felix Lu
1:57
Crap...sorry to hear that. Every art collector's nightmare.
blackalbum996
1:57
Please, do more video from the cons!)
Felix Lu
1:58
Probably not as many of these coming, sorry. Feel like we've covered that ground thoroughly already.
Jason Wood
1:58
The market doesn’t care that I need time to buy art!
Paul Pope dinner was legendary. Even the 11 O’clock Comics guys were there!
Ian G
1:58
How do you store your non-standard size art that doesn't fit in a Ityoa portfolio?
Felix Lu
1:58
I have a safe, so it all goes in there, Itoya or no Itoya. If you don't have a safe, you'll just have to get creative. Sorry, wish I had a better answer!
Simon
1:59
Nick, duly noted. Nod heading your way ...
Felix Lu
1:59
Nod yes, but no more than 15 degrees...
Eric Seffinga
1:59
Join CAF anyway, and don't sweath the folks looking for art. A simple thanks but not thanks should suffice for anyone who comes knocking on pieces marked NFS.
Jason Wood
1:59
@Chris — explain you genuinely aren’t selling the art in your gallery description.
Tobin Pope
1:59
Whats up everyone,  just wanted to say hi.  This chat is a great idea,  i am learning a lot
Robin

Thanks Felix! Made killing the end of my work day a joy 😃

Cam Jarvis

Felix Lu
2:00
I think so. Too bad, it would have cleared $1M if it wasn't.

Hey Nick - I've always thought you should include the prelims along with your commissions - they are great and show the process.  Is this something you've considered?

Felix, I know people on the CGC board were asking you about disabling sold pages on the site. Does the new one address that, or still up in the air? I've not spent enough time there to discover that answer.

THe HP Office Jet 7740 is not bad as an all in one. Prints and scans 11x17 wirelessly up to 1200 dpi.
