@Felix, thanks a ton for doing the mask giveaway! That's beyond kind of you. Really made my day when I saw that email
Felix Lu
11:52
@Rob, you're welcome! First 100 have gone out. Getting more from vendor soon, and will do another giveaway. Lambert already got his...he'll vouch for quality! These aren't disposable cheapies!
Brent Stringer
11:52
has arrived.
Felix Lu
11:52
Hey @Brent!
Andy Robbins
11:52
Has anyone else experienced shenanigans with the binc / comic creator auctions?
11:53
I've heard a couple were reopened and the person that thought they won (because they had) then lost out
Felix Lu
11:53
@Andy...details, please. Had not heard anything about this.
Andy Robbins
11:53
Lamb - published?
Or did you commission him? :)
Rob Rusch
11:53
@Andy, the creators 4 comics ones?
Andy Robbins
11:54
Yes - those
Rob Rusch
11:55
I have to imagine it depends entirely on who did the auction
Lambert Sheng
11:55
@andy the thing i heard a few times is the artist or creator missed a bid here or there and called it for the second highest guys. most of them do it with bidding in their twitter or IG account. i saw 2-3 like that
Rob Rusch
11:56
I won what I think was one of the higher profile ones and it didn't reopen (Stegman 1st knull sketch)
Felix Lu
11:56
@Rob...how much did that go for?
Rudra
11:56
Hello from the across the pond to Felix, Andy, Lambert and my fellow collectors
Felix Lu
11:56
@Rudra...welcome!
Morgan
11:56
@Andy I only saw one person post about it, and it was someone who felt like they missed out because another bid came through 15 seconds after the ending time or something.
Lambert Sheng
11:56
@andy regarding the sienkiewicz batman painting, best to my knowledge it wasn't published. sal uses it among many other images in the intro to the sienkiewicz video files that he puts online

Andy Robbins

Don't know if I'm cleared to release details, but someone we know won an auction, was congratulated on twitter by the artist, and had a conversation about it (which I was a part of - I was the underbidder).  Hours later, the auction was reopened without notifying him, and someoine else outbid him
Lambert Sheng
11:57
@ morgan, i saw that too!
Rob Rusch
11:57
$2,350. A lot for an unfinished piece, but honestly think it's one of the best characters Marvel has done in awhile, so likely to be somewhat historic
Felix Lu
11:58
@Rob...that is a lot...but it's a great cause. Trivia: The actual published first appearance was sold in a complete issue...that guy scored big without expecting it!
Morgan
11:58
I don’t blame the artists though, I’ve learned from the Felix drops that my phone clock, and my work computer clock are about 10 seconds off and the whole point was to raise money, so the higher bid is welcome.
Rob Rusch
11:58
plus it was for a good cause
Andy Robbins
11:58
I was dueling with Cristain on a Walta one for a Spanish charity, and I stopped bidding at the deadline becasue I thought I had won, and several minutes later Cristain's bid showed up (timestamped to before the deadline)
It was a FB one
Morgan
11:58
@Andy yikes, that is a bit different than a bid a few seconds late
Felix Lu
11:59
@Andy...you need every edge possible to beat Cristian...that guy is relentless!
Rob Rusch
11:59
@Felix - yea! I'm super jealous of that guy. has to be one of if not the best full issue purchases you've had
Felix Lu
12:00
@Rob...remind me via e-mail to check for Geoff's CGR doodles;)
Andy Robbins
12:02
He and I had the same max, and it ended up several hundred below
Rudra
12:02
i learned with the recent tradd Moore drop that waiting even 30 seconds to decide On which page to buy could cost you your first choice
Andy Robbins
12:02
It was the Walta Tin Tin piece
Rob Rusch
12:02
@felix oh my goodness, don't have to remind me twice
Lambert Sheng
12:02
the way i see it is these are for charity so the rules are a bit relaxed.  obviously the ones on ebay are different. but if it's one of those social media posts, then I can accept a less rigid standard being that humans can make mistakes
Andy Robbins
12:02
I'm jealous but also tip my cap to the guy that bought the Paper Girls #29 (I think) complete issue
Felix Lu
12:02
@Andy...PAPER GIRLS #28 and #29 both sold complete.
