Alright, I'll shoot! I commissioned a well-known artist for the first time and paid upfront via friends and family but also mentioned everything in the notes. He said he was going to do the piece that week, being the week of four Dash 18… But I have yet to hear back from him and have messaged once. I'm a little antsy because it's the most I've spent on a commission so far.

I HIGHLY doubt I'll be stiff but am slightly concerned because I feel like I'd have no recourse since I did FnF.

@josh, I think a month isn't that long. Unless it's a known deadbeat name, I wouldn't be concerned yet

Unfortunately @Josh Hall, that is one of the reasons I prefer making 50/50 payment arrangements with artists.

@Josh Hall...don't do F&F with anyone you don't know well...or at least whose track record you don't know...instead of F&F, pay goods and services, and tack on extra to make up for the fees.

For the OA pages for sale on your site, do you ever have to go through any publisher clearance process before listing them for sale? Was not sure if that was something that art reps had to handle differently than if the art was sold directly by the artists.
