Just seen your reply, not something that I can elaborate on quickly, but I will say it was inevitable considering some of the private offers being thrown around, all it took was the right kind of material to surface publicly

To me, those were not even the best examples. For top examples, sure. But that's what B Perez examples go for now??

Unfortunately when most of the best examples are locked away, people's perception of what is an 'A' piece changes or at least gets diffused a bit.

If you knowingly overpay for a B piece fine. But if you are deluding yourself that a B piece is an A piece to justify the spend, then that's dumb. IMO. Objectivity still counts for something. Again, IMO.

Been seeing a lot top collections for the year posts around recently, abit curious what’s your top collection for 2022 Felix

There were definitely a lot of great art showing up in collections this year, but hard for me to pick one "top" collection. Certainly, in terms of sheer volume, it's hard to beat Michael Chad Cloe. Pretty mindblowing!

Not familiar with Connelly, but enjoy Dani's art. Have always been a fan of that school, from Munoz to Miller to Risso.

I think that one should just buy what one loves and not be hung up too much about future value. I am a pessimist by nature so I operate on possible negative or even zero value. If I can live with that, I go ahead. As it turns out, pieces have kept or (for the most part) even shot up in value.

@CAB, agree 100%. Came to that realization during 2008 financial crisis, when it seemed quite likely everything was going to take a big hit. Decided then having and enjoying the collection was more important than whatever happened to its market value.
