A couple of Tradd Ghost Rider pages (not the best pages) went in the comiclink auction for reasonable prices
marcus wai
6:23
mean you'll see why Marvel Method was used.
Andy k
6:23
@felix who would do something stupid like that?
Jacob M
6:23
i also totally get why people love Cates even tho I don’t. He’s pretty
Felix Lu
6:24
@Jacob...to me, he writes to entertain...it's never deep, but it's exciting...
Dan T
6:24
You know what I enjoy... those underrated talking head panel pages that just have a cool moment of characters connecting.  I don't know why that popped in to my head, but it's true.
Grant Riddle
6:24
Nope @Malvin
Rob Rusch
6:24
@jacob I was surprised by those auction results. a GR page for $425 and a new world page for $591
Tim D

Andy k
6:25
@rob love First couple of trades of redneck
Jacob M
6:25
he’s pretty old school in his instincts to just take things to bonkers level and keep upping the ante. But I couldn’t get into his venom or KIB precisely because of that. Haven’t read his Thor. I did like God Country a lot tho
Felix Lu
6:25
@Jacob...Yes. GOD COUNTRY is excellent, IMO. Also, THANOS WINS is a great read, too.
Rob Rusch
6:25
but then a better GR page for $2900 same auction. I thought prior results had set panel page floor at 1500/2000
Jacob M
6:25
@marcus for the old days I totally get and appreciate the marvel method!
Rob Rusch
6:25
@Andy Redneck is on my list of books to read. Think I even bought it on comixology. Too many comics to read!
Dan T
6:26
Thor has been really good
Jason Wood
6:26
Cates has brass balls. He took over Thor after Aaron, and is now taking over Hulk after Ewing. HUGE pants to fill in both cases.
Felix Lu
6:27
@Jason Wood...yup. And I think his THOR has surpassed Aaron's in popularity and impact now. Which is really saying something. I predict the same for HULK.
Lambo
6:27
god country was a great book
Andy k
6:27
@rob those were C pages
Tim D
6:27
agree with Felix in that order
Jacob M
6:27
@felix yes that’s true. And why I don’t begrudge anyone loving him at all. But I’m primarily the heady Gaiman loving type.
Felix Lu
6:28
@Jacob...yes. He's the opposite of Gaiman and Moore. Also Morrison. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Rob Rusch
6:28
I love Thanos Wins, but I feel like I'm too biased to opine on that
Tim D
6:28
I think Hulk will work.
Grant Riddle
6:28
I liked Ewing’s Hulk but didn’t love it.
Jacob M
6:28
Thanos was the first series that made me annoyed with Cates, just because I’m a big Lemire fan and was so excited that he wrote Thanos, then was so bummed when he left the series
Tim D
6:28
Great art and new direction.
Rick
6:28
He’s definitely working it.  Most hasn’t connected with me, but I was jazzed to see a certain character prominently used in Crossover.
Felix Lu
6:28
@Rick...which one? Madman?
Jacob M
6:28
i’ll check out his Thor eventually. And I plan to at least start reading the Hulk series. Surpassing Aaron is a mighty big statement!
Rick
6:28
Yep!
Brettfes
6:28
Checking in
Robert Antoniak
6:30
Reading Cates is like raiding the candy bowl when your parents aren’t watching. (One of my fav current writers, and 60% of my OA are books he wrote). It’s the world building for me.
Jacob M
6:30
Hah that’s a fun analogy @Robert
Lambo
6:30
lmao!
Jason Wood
6:31
Alright, our college freshman is Facetiming and wifey says it's time to bid you all adieu!
Felix Lu
6:31
Thanks for stopping by Jason, see you later!
Malvin
6:31
@all, most o fyou still read comics it sounds like? I essentially stopped
Victor B.
6:31
Can’t say I’m a fan or not of his, just know the art in his books have been fantastic
Connecting…
