OK everyone...if there's any general hobby stuff you guys want to talk about, shoot! Otherwise, I'll be closing this session. So...fire away!
Dan T

What's everyone looking for in 2021?
Morgan F
1:40
Hey @Felix, will there be any Dragotta stuff coming this year? :)
Felix Lu
1:41
@Morgan...hopefully! He's got an AMAZING Batman Black and White story coming out. And then...his own thing! Not sure when that will be released, but maybe toward the end of 2021!
Victor B.
1:41
@DanT Precious Metal and Beta Ray Bill!
Brian Lake
1:41
@Felix do you have any lists going up over the next few weeks?
Felix Lu
1:42
@Brian...I'm hoping to have one in particular lined up...but nothing finalized yet. Most everyone still needs to finish existing lists!
Morgan F
1:42
@DanT hoping to get something from Walking Dead and Scott Pilgrim, and Dragotta (Like I asked above haha) this year, if I can save up enough. What are you looking for? :)
1:43
@Felix sounds good! Gives me the year to hopefully save for it, fingers crossed :)
Ron Lim
1:43
I'm hoping to get on Ian's list this year
Felix Lu
1:45
@Ron...demand for Ian's work is just insane right now. We have enough buyers who want his PRECIOUS METAL that we can sell all the issues complete...even the ones he hasn't drawn yet! Just talked yesterday with a gallery owner in NYC who's dying to put on a show for Ian...but we have no available art! So anyway, no idea when he'll be available for commissions again. Just letting you know so you don't tie up resources waiting for him.
Dan T
1:45
@Morgan F - I'm on a bit of a break, but look for things as they come up, like jumping on DWJ's Run The Jewels sketch.  I'm looking for less expensive pieces to scratch the itch, waiting on pieces bought in 2020, and then re-evaluating my hiatus every few months.  That said, I'd echo Victor B, depending on availability.
Tim D
1:46
I was very impressed with Matias's output but some of these lists close before I even see the email there days! So will see.
Felix Lu
1:47
@Tim D...Matías is actually all done with his 2020 list. But he's taking a bit of a break from commissions for now. As always, will let everyone know when's ready to take a new list via our newsletter! Best of luck to you when that happens!
Ron Lim
1:47
@Felix :( and thanks for the heads up.
Dan T
1:47
@Felix - You can borrow my Ian commission, if necessary.
Felix Lu
1:47
@Dan T...thanks! But it's an exhibition/sale. Guy is super-eager, even willing to pre-pay for the art. But there's just not enough time right now.
Dan T
1:48
@Felix - I realized it was probably for sale right after I realized what I typed.

Awesome news re: Ian
Ron Lim
1:49
I did end up buying someone's Ian commission from Heritage's European auction in the Fall, so at least I have a piece by him.
Felix Lu
1:50
@Ron...you got an excellent one! And one that's especially meaningful to Ian...the subject is a good friend of his.
Dan T
1:50
@Ron Lim - was that the face portrait?  That was a really nice piece.
Ron Lim
1:52
@Felix @Dan, yup... and i had no idea it would be that large. And it's pretty obvious it was based on an actual person. Feel like the seller lost money on that one too. I got a good price on it.
Felix Lu
1:53
No, he did OK. The Artist's Choice option was priced CHEAP...because Ian simply enjoyed doing them! Sorry to say, due the demand and available time, rates are going to take a big jump for him coming up. So congrats to everyone who made his previous list!!
Dan T
1:53
I still need to finish reading it, but I think the House of Penance panel pages are pretty good value if people are seeking to scratch the itch of Ian Bertram art.
Felix Lu
1:56
@DanT...HOUSE OF PENANCE is Ian's breakout. He was nominated for the Grand Prize at Angouleme, one of the few Americans to receive that honor. But he was under a deadline for it, and isn't 100% happy with all of the art as a result. To one degree or another, he's had to make compromises due to deadlines for all of his previous work. So for PRECIOUS METAL, he's decided it will take however long it takes. No compromises. His goal is to present his most complete work for EACH page. And the result has been the best work of his career so far.
Ron Lim
1:56
@FElix Great for Ian, not so great for me (on the price jump)
David Blumer
1:56
@Dan t. House of penance was great.  Wonderfully bizarre and creepy.  I've got a couple and keep looking at the ones left!
Felix Lu
1:57
@David Blumer...no matter what, HoP is a great value and we will sell out of it all sooner or later.
