How long before Minnesota can contend again? 3 years? 5 years? A bigger medium market that spends like a small market team. KC is a small market, but they seem to be able to shell out bucks for decent free agents. Even the West Sacramento Athletics are spending.  Somehow, I'm giving up baseball. It's become sterilized

Enough upper level rotation talent that I think they could be viable again in 2027 or '28 but that's kind of conditional on them hitting on trades of Ryan, Jeffers, etc.

Instead they're doing the 2024-25 Cardinals offseason. Doesn't mean it's destined to fail -- those guys should be coveted around the deadline -- but it feels directionless

What would a Varsho extension this offseason look like in your opinion? And what kind of contact do you think he could command in free agency after the 2026 season?

Off the cuff, I'd probably have him around 4/80, but I admittedly haven't given him a ton of thought this offseason. Difficult player to value. Prime age elite defensive CF with some power who hasn't gotten on base at a .300 clip in any of the past three seasons

Every player is dependent on their platform year to an extent but his will go the extreme. Could see him anywhere from like 2/30 to 6/150 based on what he does this season

Does it make sense for SD to spin cronenworth to Boston for a SP?

He'd help them short term but I have a tough time seeing the Sox taking on five years at ages 32-36

Where do you see Gallen going?  I am a bit surprised he has not signed anywhere yet.

Angels, Tigers, Braves could all work there. Detroit seems likelier if he goes two with an opt-out. Maybe there's some kind of Preller special to get him to SD
4:18
Not too surprised he's still out there. Felt like someone who could aim for nine figures early based on his reputation but had enough worrying trend lines that teams would balk. Boras tends to wait deeper into the offseason unless someone approaches the earning ceiling right away (e.g. Jays/Cease)
Alright, that's all I have time for today

Thanks for all the questions! As always, happy to take yours on X (if they get it back up and running) @affranco10 if I didn't get to it here
