No, it needs to be a minor league contract. Whichever teams signs him will call him up by Opening Day obviously, but the contract itself won't come with a 40-man roster spot

Is Jordan Montgomery is a trade target for the Braves? I like him as a bounce back candidate.

Sure, I could see this if the D-Backs paid down $8-10MM

Will this be the year that Esteury Ruiz gets a real chance to play in the A's outfield? I mean the guy has hit well in the minors. Or is he just a new version of the A's designated runner, Herb Washington, from the mid-1970s? (Hard to believe that Herb Washington is now 73. (After the A's, he had a successful business career.)

Just not seeing it with Ruiz. The strike zone awareness is poor and the defensive grades in CF two years ago were not good despite his speed

Reading the Mariner tea leaves at this point, is it looking like Dipoto is going to stand pat and hold onto any bit of financial flexibity for a possible deadline trade during the seaon if the M’s are in the mix?  Doesn’t look like there are any likely trade scenarios at this point that wouldn’t have to involve one of the younger starters.

I still expect them to add another first base/DH type (probably Turner). Solano's a good hitter but he's a role player

Who’s the biggest free agent out there that no one is talking about?

Crickets on Profar all offseason

if the Padres don’t get Sasaki and they trade Dylan Cease and profar does not come back, do you see them finishing in third or fourth place next year? They’ve done nothing ESPN gave them a grade of F for the off-season.
Anthony Franco
4:14
Have to see what a potential Cease trade brings back. They can't go into the season with the rotation they have right now
4:15
I'd have them alongside the Giants as third/fourth in the division right now, but they'll do something in response to missing on Sasaki

What do I need to send to the angels to get Taylor Ward?
Anthony Franco
4:18
Mike Burrows maybe? I think the Pirates and Angels line up well enough on a Ward for starting pitching swap

Any news on Luis Robert Jr? He staying put?
Anthony Franco

I expect the Sox to hold him until the deadline

It is beyond any reasonable doubt that St. Louis has had unquestionably the worst off-season. Who do you think has had the best?
Anthony Franco

Haven't really thought about this yet since the offseason isn't over, but I like a lot of what Texas did. Really like the Crochet trade for Boston. Obviously the Mets got the best player available, so you could make a pretty straightforward case for them. Relative to acquisition costs, I'd probably take the Rangers
Alright, I need to wrap this up here
