Since Rangers are likely to move AGarcia, Heim, Burger but unlikely to move Seager, deGrom or Eovaldi, is there a possible trade partner for Semien.
Anthony Franco
3:44
Owed $72MM for the next three seasons at ages 35-37. Biggest selling point was durability and he's now coming off a season-ending foot fracture. Having a really tough time seeing anyone that wants to take a big chunk of that on
3:45
Maybe the Giants but Texas still has to eat a good chunk of the money for minimal return

I one of the test dummies for this site’s new update, I have tried getting ahold of anyone to no avail, My screen locks after I get on a story and try to scroll up it freezes, could someone help.

The Angels have a few FA's that they should retain... (they still need at least one front end SP, a better option at 3rd, and one more solid RP) Who do you think they actually will retain?
Anthony Franco
3:47
Just Kenley. Guess you could toss a couple million bucks to Andrew Chafin

Is it just me or based on Ranger needs doesn’t Bellinger seem like the perfect fit. Age is in line albeit at upper end of corp and production would certainly be helpful.

Makes sense on paper but the early messaging isn't great about their willingness to sign a nine-figure free agent this winter

It feels like Breslow is getting too much credit for the BoSox's (relative) success. Bloom had to rebuild a system that had been fully Dombrowski'ed. He drafted Campbell, Anthony, and Mayer, as well as Teel and Meidroth who were a big part of the package that brought in Crochet. Bloom just had John Henry giving him stupid awful orders like "trade our future HOF, super charismatic outfielder, and attach an underwater contract to the trade as well". Henry's idiocy will come for Breslow in due time. What do you think? Is Bloom lacking on praise that he is fairly owed?
Anthony Franco
3:49
Chaim's getting another opportunity to run a baseball ops department based on his ability to build a farm system, so I think he's getting a fair amount of praise from the people who matter
3:51
A lot of Breslow's moves were puzzling and you're obviously correct that much of the foundation was in place. But they did make the Crochet trade -- say what you will about them having the pieces, other teams could've matched that and weren't bold enough to do it -- and the subsequent extension was a real dice roll at the time that looks like a fantastic investment now
3:52
Their deadline sucked though, and the organization obviously could've done better managing Devers' ego to not let that get to the point that it did

The Pirates desperately need a controllable run-producing bat. They have the pitching to make a trade but those bats are few and far between. Who are a few potential targets this offseason?
Anthony Franco
3:54
Soderstrom's the most interesting one. Sox could move Casas but the Pirates are probably fine with Horwitz. Twins could trade Matt Wallner and you could probably get them to think about Royce Lewis
3:55
Both coming off mediocre years but we've seen glimpses of lineup carrying potential from Lewis. I'd certainly rather have him starting at third base than Triolo, who's a fine utility player
Derek Falvey
3:55
I'm trading Jeffers and Lopez this winter come hell or high water. I'm undecided about Joe Ryan. He'll make $10 million or so, which is repugnant to my owners, but he IS good. Your thoughts?
Anthony Franco
3:57
Yeah I think they're all getting moved. Would be stunned if they don't trade Ryan honestly. They know they're going to be bad, why risk him getting hurt before the deadline?

NLCS rotation with the off day and 2 travel days?  Peralta, Priester,  Johnny Wholestaff for game 3, Peralta, Priester.   What have you been hearing?  Game 3 and 4 in Chicago, how does the wind direction impact the power advantage of the Cubs?..
Anthony Franco
3:58
Makes sense to me, don't think the wind has any impact on the pitching plans
I need help, Jed
3:58
Who should I extend nowbefore I shoot the team in the foot and lose them or have to overpay? Horton, PCA,Busch or Ballesteros? Any chance I could lock up that core four altogether? I know Shaw is not here, but I see then being less bullish on him.
Anthony Franco
3:59
Busch got such a late start because he was blocked by the Dodgers for so long. He's already controllable until age 32, don't see the need to go beyond that right now
4:00
Any of the other guys (Shaw included) make some sense, though PCA and Horton are the obvious priorities. Probably better to get clarity on whether Ballesteros can catch before going that route

Cleveland needs to add a RH hitting outfielder in a bad way this offseason.  Jonathan Rodriguez and Big Christmas have no business being on a big league roster.  Who is a realistic target but also isn't scrap heap?  Do they possibly resign Thomas?
Anthony Franco
4:02
Have to move on from Thomas. Austin Hays works. Miguel Andujar obliterated LHP and was really good against pitchers of either handedness after getting traded to Cincinnati
Trader Jack
4:02
With the Padres needing SP depth while having budgeting issues, would a Senga for Cronenworth swap be of interest to both teams?
Anthony Franco
4:03
Cronenworth feels kind of redundant to Jeff McNeil. I'd rather take another crack at getting Senga straightened out in New York
Dan S.
4:04
Robert Suarez is 34 but coming off the best year of his career, one in which is sub-3 ERA was finally backed up by a sub-3 FIP. I assume his deal will be short given his age, but what kind of contract do you think he's looking at?
Anthony Franco
4:05
We haven't gotten to relievers yet so I have no idea how anyone else on staff feels about him, but I've got him at 2/32 (assuming no qualifying offer)
4:06
Three years for a reliever at that age is rare but he's a lock for two and he should beat Carlos Estévez money
Ryan S.
4:06
How long do you think it takes Chaim to put the Cardinals back up respectable?
Anthony Franco
4:07
I think they could've gotten that roster back there by 2027 if they were willing to invest in the pitching staff but it seems like it's more of a 2028-29 plan
Peter B.
4:07
Seems like my Marlins could use some bullpen help. Do you think being a year away from a looming lockout will help me leverage some decent relief pitchers into taking more team friendly contracts?
Anthony Franco
4:08
Don't think the lockout has much to do with it but they've got some short-term spending capacity and can offer the closing role to a Helsley or Kopech rebound type
Gator
4:08
Are the DBacks lukewarm on Lawler?  Seems like he didn’t get that much MLB time towards the end of the season…
Anthony Franco
4:10
He was hurt in the minors for a while, then got a little bit of run when he came back and was rough on both sides of the ball. They were in the Wild Card mix and Blaze Alexander was outplaying him (albeit not great himself)
4:11
I don't think it necessarily shows that they're down on him but they're also trying to compete next year and he didn't exactly seize the third base job. I could see them floating him around as they try to trade for controllable starting pitching

Not a single Jays question, so i will try one Jays odds of beating the Yankees without Bo and is Yesavage the go to pitcher over Sherz and Bassitt???
Anthony Franco
4:13
I'll take the Jays as slight favorites even without Bichette. Agree that Yesavage should be the guy for Game 3
Still an A
4:14
The A's locked up pre-Arb Lawrence Butler. Do you see them doing that with Nick Kurtz, Jacob Wilson, and/or Tyler Soderstrom?
