Mr Red Leg

Does Jose Trevino have any trade value?  If the Reds put him on the block, would there be much interest?
Anthony Franco
2:17
I don't think he'd get 2/11.5 if he were a free agent, no
2:18
Never made much sense to me that they felt the need to lock him up so quickly. He's a fine backup but I'd have just played that out
Astros INF Logjam
2:18
What are likely trade scenarios for Christian Walker? Would Walker for Benintendi work?
Anthony Franco
2:19
Walker's owed an extra $9M over the next two seasons and it doesn't matter much to the Sox that he's a slightly better player because they're going to be terrible either way
2:20
If Houston wants to eat a bit of the Walker deal just to balance things positionally and swap a right-handed bat for a lefty, I can see the framework. It's an overall lineup downgrade that isn't going to save them any money though

2:21
Time to cut bait, or should I be the starting first baseman in Boston in 2026?
Anthony Franco
2:21
Trade to a rebuilding team (or fringe contender) like Washington, Colorado or Miami
Black and Gold Bleeder
2:21
Is Jo Adell still available now that Taylor Ward has left the building?
Anthony Franco
2:22
I doubt they'd close it off entirely but seems less likely, especially since they got one of the two starters they absolutely needed for Ward

With Grisham back and the Yankees still pursuing Bellinger, where are some places that would be interested in Domínguez?
Anthony Franco
2:24
Pittsburgh, K.C., Cleveland, Arizona all make sense on paper but I imagine he's a split camp guy for front offices
2:26
The youth, switch-hitting raw power, athleticism are going to really intrigue some teams. There'll probably be others that look at the swing-and-miss rate and defensive miscues and just conclude that he's not actually any good
Nolan Aranado
2:26
AF where do you think I’ll go? Does anyone want me ?
Anthony Franco
2:28
Man, I don't know. Tough to sell him as an upgrade in Boston (even over Mayer, much less Bregman) or Philly
2:29
Maybe Kansas City if they drop both India and Massey. Move Garcia to second and build an elite defensive infield? It's a reach but there's a reason the Cardinals haven't been able to find anything that works since he killed the Houston deal

Just checked your picks so far 3 3 2 and one correct ...with you trailing the other guys on the team!
Anthony Franco
2:29
I'm used to it
2:30
Pretty sure I've finished in the bottom three every year

Plenty of Cardinals names as trade candidates. Who's a less-expected trade candidate from the Cardinals that you could still see moving?
Anthony Franco
2:32
Could see some team liking Crooks enough to swap him for a pitching prospect. No idea how Bloom feels about Pallante but I guess another team could view him as a reasonable swingman or middle reliever if the Cards are done with him
Bo nose
2:33
Me too. That's why that was a follow-up to the Post the contest comment!!!
Anthony Franco
2:33
Oh haha. Yeah I'm fine keeping that buried as long as possible. Technically possible I'm above one of the part-time guys since their picks aren't reflected on the Top 50 post
Not holding my breath though

2:33
you think ke'bryan hayes will get moved?
Anthony Franco
2:35
Nah I don't know how many other teams would've taken the whole contract from Pittsburgh. Hayes was as expected after the trade but it's not like he significantly improved his value

The Giants have Casey Schmitt, Christian Koss and Tyler Fitzgerald.  All can play SS and have had some limited success with the bat.  Given the lack of short stops available how much trade value do each have?  I'm curious because of the recent Dubon trade, a past Giant, who's older than all 3 of these guys but appears to be the front runner at SS for the Braves.  Going deeper, what could the Giants expect back if they traded their #4 prospect Jhonny Level?  I can already hear Giant fans crying about trading Level but you gotta give to get.
Anthony Franco
2:38
Dubón got traded but for basically nothing. Not convinced the Braves were even going to tender Allen. Atlanta also was probably the most desperate to get any kind of viable shortstop, so I don't see anyone viewing the Giants guys as a potential regular there
2:40
Schmitt's the closest but none of the big leaguers are going to net much. Level as a headliner for a #4 starter with a couple seasons of control seems reasonable

The Angels made a bold move trading for Grayson, giving his health concerns. How many innings should he pitch in order to this trade be considered a win for the Angels? Would a healthy full season even it already?
Anthony Franco
2:41
Yeah I think literally one season of #3 caliber production would be enough for the Angels to come out ahead
Coach L
2:41
Are the Pirates really "In on" the Higher Tier Free Agents? Who do you see them actually signing?
Anthony Franco
2:43
That came from Jeff Passan, so yeah I believe they're poking around on everyone below Bichette. Feels like they'll come away with someone from the Geno, Polanco, Bader tier
Doug E.
2:43
Hi Anthony.  Everyone knows the Dodgers need to address their bullpen during the offseason.  In your opinion who do you think would be the best fit, not necessarily the most expensive.  For extra credit any thoughts on an outfielder to replace Michael Conforto.  Thanks.
Anthony Franco
2:44
Robert Suarez for the bullpen. One of Nootbaar or Kwan for the outfield
2:45
I know Noot's recovering from the heel surgery and might not be ready for Opening Day, but that doesn't seem like a long-term concern and the Dodgers can weather him missing a month or whatever by giving Ryan Ward a look

Any word on which teams have been rumored as to who is in on Imai ? Do the Cubs have a shot ?
Anthony Franco
2:46
Yankees/Mets so far. Morosi floated the Giants yesterday but that felt a little more speculative and runs counter to the idea that they're putting out publicly that they don't want to spend that big on a starter
But yeah, I'd have the Cubs in that top tier of likeliest suitors

Let's be honest,  cubs didn't think Shota would accept the QO,  correct?
