Thanks, I'll let Tim know
I need a new career
2:28
How does someone become a sports agent? Do they have to get licensed? How do they get clients!
Anthony Franco
2:29
Ha, hope you've got a decent sized application fee saved up for the MLBPA

2:29
If you’re running the Mariners, would you rather have 2 years of Donovan or sign Bregman to a 5 year deal (since he has expressed interest in Seattle)?
Anthony Franco
2:29
Donovan
Josh Elliott

Is it safe to assume that the money the padres are using for the King and Song signings just the money they had already allotted to the QO's of King and Cease?  If so, then they should have about another 20 or so million to use this offseason?
Anthony Franco
2:30
No I don't think that's the case. There was zero chance Cease was accepting the QO
2:31
If they both accepted, then the front office could either see if ownership wanted to adjust payroll expectations on the fly or they needed to trade someone like Cronenworth or Adam to make it work
But they made the offer knowing Cease would decline and with a 90% chance that King would do the same

Good morning Anthony.  Im a very confused Giants fan.  The team that they presently have to me seems a little light on positions. They now have a core 3 Adames, Chapman and Devers. I love all 3 but they certainly could use some more help. What are your thoughts..
Anthony Franco
2:33
They definitely need a right fielder and I'd like to see them upgrade on Schmitt at second base and add a leverage reliever
2:34
Running out of options for the latter, especially in free agency. Would've liked to see them aim higher than 2/22 on Houser in the middle of the rotation. Could still do that, especially if they trade Ray to free up $25M

Were you surprised at the contract Dustin May got? As a Cardinal fan, I’m not mad at the $12.5MM, but I had seen a couple of places where the prediction was in the 7-8MM range.
Anthony Franco
2:35
Yeah I'd have put him in the $7-8M bucket as well. Tim's the biggest May fan on staff, liked him more than we did as a rebound target because of the velocity
Daniel Hoffman
2:35
How is the outlook for the the players posted from Nippon and KBO leagues, I know Munetaka Murakami closes on Monday I believe are the others posted close to closing as well.  Do you think deals will get done for all remaining players posted?
Anthony Franco
2:37
The big names will sign. Only one I could see staying in Japan is Kona Takahashi because the lack of strikeouts are going to limit his earning power
2:38
If he's looking at minor league offers or even something like one year for $3-4M, he might prefer to stay with Seibu
Paul
2:38
Happy holidays Anthony, I know the Red Sox made a couple of trades already but they can’t be done can they? I’m figuring Bregman is a top priority. Plus they are loaded with left handed hitters as well as pitchers. I would think something will have to get done eventually right?
Anthony Franco
2:38
Yeah I'd be shocked if they don't come away with a notable bat
Jrizz1e
2:38
I didn’t think the Braves would make a run at anyone with the QO and give up the PPI pick.
Yesterday’s news of the 5 year offer to Diaz has me thinking — are they in on any SPs with the QO? Who do you see as a good fit?
Anthony Franco
2:39
Mentioned this in that post but it comes down to the budgetary question that I alluded to earlier. They'd certainly benefit from Ranger Suárez or Gallen still but I don't know if they've used all their payroll space with the Robert Suarez and Kim signings after Díaz turned them down
Michael King
2:40
Overpay, underpay, or about right given that if he's reasonably healthy he'll opt out?
Anthony Franco
2:40
I think it's a strong deal for both sides but have consistently been the high person on King at MLBTR
2:41
I don't know how Steve and Darragh feel about this one but they were lower on him in our top 50 deliberations because of the durability questions
Matt Garza
2:41
Are the Rays tearing it down, or did they move Lowe due to injuries and his deal expiring & get a deal too good to say no to for Baz?
Anthony Franco
2:42
The latter. They never really go all-in on either direction
2:43
I assume they'll add a mid-tier free agent starter once prices come down later in the winter. They got a big league ready outfielder in Melton as part of the Lowe trade
2:44
The middle infield is pretty bleak though, not sure what the next move is there. A Carson Williams/Taylor Walls pairing isn't cutting it offensively
OF
2:44
Any word on Bellingers market? He's probably waiting until Tucker signs right?
Anthony Franco
2:45
I would guess Tucker signs first, both to establish the market and because Boras is usually more comfortable than most agencies waiting into January
Brian Cashman
2:45
I missed out on just about every top free agent bullpen arm, but I also have sneaky value in Jake Bird and Camilo Doval who performed well before putting on pinstripes and might just need time to get acclimated. Do I go out and get Pete Fairbanks, trade for Jojo Romero, or just run it back with virtually the same bullpen minus Weaver/Williams?
Anthony Franco
2:46
I think there's something coming, ideally a lefty. Romero makes a lot of sense
Dregs
2:47
Would it make sense for the Dodgers to sign Bader and trade (dump) Teoscar to improve the defense and offset the modest (by their standards) salary and tax hit on Bader?  Bader takes over in center, Pages moves to right and assumes sunflower throwing role, and left field is up in the air for Call, Kike', Edman, Kim or a trade for Nootbar.
Anthony Franco
2:48
Yeah I can see this. Wouldn't force Teoscar out the door unless they have Bader done first though
Joe from Milwaukee
2:48
Is there a chance that Jesus Made is so good in spring training or early in the season that he's named the starter? What do you think his ultimate upside is?
Anthony Franco
2:50
Second question is a better one for the prospect evaluators at Baseball America or FanGraphs. It's huge, obviously, but I'm not familiar enough with the player to compare him to other top 10 overall shortstop prospects of the past few seasons
2:51
He's not breaking camp as an 18-year-old with five games above High-A. I could kind of see the path to a late-season debut if he's absolutely destroying Double-A and Ortiz still isn't hitting

2:51
After acquiring Burrows, how do you see Astros rotation lining up behind Brown?
Anthony Franco
2:52
Assuming full health, I'd have it Burrows, Javier, Blubaugh, Weiss
Cubs
2:52
Does anyone come close to us in defense? PCA in center, Ian Happ in left, Swanson/Hoerner up the middle. For hitting your options are third base and... nope, just third base.
