Definitely not going to attach him to Monty. I guess they're just going to start him back in Reno but I think there's a good chance he pushes Suárez for the third base job during the season

I think my White Sox are going to trade Robert during Spring Training, if he is healthy, like they did Cease last year. I do not think they will risk him getting hurt during the season, killing his mid-season value. They will meet somewhere between the value of boy-low candidate and the moon asking price they are at.Thoughts?

I've seen Steve Adams float this possibility a couple times. I think he may be more bullish on this idea than I am
4:22
It's easier to tell that a pitcher's back to full strength because you can see it in the raw stuff. There are also data points for hitters (scouting evaluations, bat speed tracking, etc.) but it's not as conspicuous as seeing that a pitcher's velocity and movement profile has bounced back
4:24
Robert's feasting on a bunch of Double-A pitchers during Spring Training doesn't tell you a whole lot in itself

Have any players with significant deferred salary ever been traded at the Trade Deadline?  If so, how did that work, given the requirement to fund the present value of each year's deferred salary by July 1 (or so I've heard)?

The Nationals/Dodgers deadline deal with Scherzer from a couple years ago jumps to mind. Not a huge effect though. The past salaries don't get traded so I believe the initial team pays the deferrals on the same schedule unless the contract is restructured as part of the trade (which happened when Arenado went from Colorado to St. Louis)

Sadly I will never sniff the MLB Hall of Fame. But are there any team Hall of Fames I get to enter someday? Dare I think Arizona could be one?

Boston probably? Hit .292/.363/.526 over five seasons there, fourth-place MVP finish for the 2018 team that won 108 games and a World Series

I read about a proposed trade for Bobby Witt jr. is this real and who would we give up

Zero chance

Which face in a new place are you most excited about going into the season? Sasaki in LA? Soto in Queens? Santander in Toronto? Personally, I'm excited to see what Burnes can do in the desert!
Anthony Franco
4:34
These are all good but it's Sasaki for me. I've just seen the other guys play a ton more

Can you clarify a MLB rule for me.  I know that an infielder must remain on "their side of 2nd base" but does that only apply to the dirt?  Does that also apply if they were to be more in the outfield (in the grass) as a 4th outfielder?
Anthony Franco
4:35
The shift ban explicitly kills the four-man outfield
4:36
Probably the most significant part of it. The biggest issue with the left-handed shift was that teams played the second baseman halfway into right field
Angels Fan
4:36
With the Angels outfield remaining unchanged, despite several attempts to sign someone else, do you think someone like Jason Heyward is much of an improvement or should they wait for a possible mid-year addition?  Also, did Kevin Pillar announce that he wants to play next year or that he would retire?
Anthony Franco
4:37
Pillar said in December that he wanted to come back, probably looking at an NRI though
4:38
I don't think Heyward's an upgrade at this point. They're probably going with Adell/Moniak again, though I'd still try to see if I could pry someone like Yaz or Leody Taveras away before Opening Day
4:39
Alright, I've gotta wrap this one up
