I'll take Faucher, Santillan and Bednar to respectively lead those teams in saves. Guessing Cincinnati will defer to Díaz's track record and give him the Opening Day closing nod, but Santillan's better and I expect him to pitch his way into the ninth before long

We have seen many articles written expressing concerns with the NY Mets SP rotation and how it compares to other teams in baseball.  As we head into the last week before the start of the season, how comfortable should we be with names like Canning, Blackburn, and Megill, motto mention the top of the rotation?  And, do you think there’s and possibility they do make a trade, and for whom?

The back end is fine. They've collected depth guys for this reason. Canning looks pretty good this spring. Megill's a good swing piece. Blackburn rarely stays healthy but he's a fine #5/6 type when he's available

The drawback is that they don't have the same upside at the top of the staff as most of the other top NL contenders. That was also true last year, so it's not like it can't work, but it's why they're probably a hair below the Phillies and Braves on paper

Alright I've gotta run here but I'll post a few of your suggestions for historical what-if guys first. Fun question!

Mickey Mantle is the all-time What-if….
Mickey Mantle and Sandy Koufax for what-ifs.  HOF, yes…. But gracious, the records they could have set.

Shoeless Joe if he weren’t suspended.

I think Dwight Gooden and Daryl Strawberry messed up potential HoF careers with cocaine.

There are so many "what if" players but the first two that popped in my head were Tony Conigliaro and JR Richard.

What-if Mark Fidrych. What a sad tale.

I get where you're coming from on Mantle and Koufax but it's tough for me to put them in that group when they're still inner circle Hall of Famers
4:36
Don't know that Shoeless Joe's peak would have lasted much longer anyways but obviously it got cut a few years short and his legacy is very different

I had literally never heard of Pete Reiser but he seems like a really good one. Some nice pulls from you all

Thanks for all the questions as always! Feel free to throw anything else at me on X @affranco10 throughout the week
