Not much on the trade market, at least right now. I think Rengifo will be available around the deadline but he doesn't feel like a Brewers type because of the questionable glove (especially with their mostly pitch-to-contact staff). Maybe there's a match involving Maikel Garcia and one of Milwaukee's outfielders?
4:33
I've expected K.C. to float Garcia for outfield help for like two years and there's no real indication they've done it, though

Are the Padres that good or do they still end up in third place when it's all said and done? They have had an easy schedule so far and the bottom of the lineup and the bench is brutal. Also not sold on the back of the rotation. Can they win the west?
Anthony Franco
4:35
Yeah I think they're very good. Share some of the concerns about the depth but the top of the roster is great. Clear playoff team for me but I'd put them around 15% to win the West
Dodgers still the heavy favorite with an outside chance for Arizona and SF

With his injury history, how much is Dustin May going to get paid this off-season? and where would you rank him amongst the free agent class?
Anthony Franco
4:36
He's never topped 56 innings in an MLB season. Very effective when healthy but it's a ground-ball approach rather than a bunch of whiffs despite the huge velocity
4:38
Feels like two years with an opt-out to me. Maybe three in the $40MM range that fits more with the "reliever to starter conversion" guys if he stays mostly healthy this season. Tough to see him going beyond that with all the elbow issues
4:39
If he misses a good chunk of time again, he's probably at one year in the low eight figures. Kind of Michael Soroka+

We aren't too far into the season but do you see any trends from players or teams that you see continuing through they year? Good or bad?
Anthony Franco
4:42
I'm in on Tyler Soderstrom being awesome. Jung Hoo Lee's not this good but better than I gave him credit for. Mentioned Robert earlier but obviously I'm concerned there
Tommy
4:42
I think Tommy is best at second base, I also believe the Dodgers need a center fielder who can play D. Also will the Dodgers kick the tires on Nolan again? Muncy D is average and he is striking out at a 40% clip? What do the Dodgers have to give up tp get Nolan?
Anthony Franco
4:44
Feels like Edman's more valuable in CF given the league scarcity at that position. Don't really see the Dodgers going after Arenado. They never seemed to consider it last offseason. Even if they're down on Muncy, they may want to make a push for Murakami next offseason and that's only really viable if third base is open
The Willies of SF

What is it about Jung Hoo Lee that gives you pause? The guy's terrific at the plate and in the OF.
Anthony Franco
4:47
Wouldn't say I have much pause anymore, unless you're asking whether I think he'll keep hitting like Aaron Judge. I didn't love the profile when he was coming over because he didn't hit for much power in the KBO
4:49
Still think it's more like 10-15 homers but given the rest of the profile, that's more than enough. I'm in now. He's a top 10 center fielder, maybe top five

Brett Baty had a slow start to the first fifteen games of the year.  It's a very small sample size, but over the last few games he has started to hit.  He also seems like a much better third baseman (his natural position to my understanding) than a second baseman, and has made some great plays there over the last few days.  My question is, is there a scenario where the Mets keep Baty (3B, 2B) AND Acuna (2B, SS, 3B, CF) AND McNeil (IF, OF) when McNeil joins the team?  I know Vientos is the third baseman.  Maybe i'm in denial here, I'm of the belief that if/when Baty gets sent down, he may never return in a Mets uniform.  Big fan of the player.  Thank you for your time.
Anthony Franco
4:51
I think it's likelier Baty gets sent down but the injury to Siri at least opens the possibility of using McNeil/Acuna in CF while pushing Taylor to the bench and keeping Baty at second
4:53
No real path for him to get more than sporadic work at third unless Vientos or Alonso gets hurt though. They're not going to want to shut Winker completely out of playing time by forcing Vientos to DH
Alright, we're coming up on two hours so I've gotta stop here
