I don't think they're going to reshuffle a third of their defensive alignment in season. Guessing this'll be Turner's last year as a full-time SS though, going to need to have the conversation about 2B/3B next year (hopefully with a healthy Aidan Miller)

The Guardians have to do something about their offense.  Hoskins and Manzardo just aren't getting it done.  Is Steer a realistic target for them?  Maybe Kody Clemons despite in being an intradivisional trade?

Could toss France or Spencer Torkelson in there. Rockies could deal TJ Rumfield, who has been a nice find but is a 26-year-old without huge batted ball metrics. Figured Cleveland would be settled at 1B when it looked like Manzardo was coming out of the early-season slump but July has been brutal again

CJ Abrams would do wonders for the Red Sox going forward (even with their current win streak). What would it take to land him? Thanks.

That should put Early in play as a headliner (assuming the current elbow stuff checks out). Don't know that Boston would do it but have a hard time seeing the Nats make that move if it doesn't involve Early or Tolle
5:27
Or Franklin Arias, but I have to imagine he's a total non-starter for Boston at this point (as Tolle should be as well)

Cardinals are still in contention. Trading May, Noot, and Gorman don't really hurt them. In this scenario, are you then trading for a Robbie Ray? Or do you just bring up the young guys and throw them in. I'm for option 2, but I see the allure of having a veteran in the rotation.

Nootbaar would be more about opening the ABs for Joshua Baez. Should see what's out there in terms of controllable starters -- maybe there's another Fitts/Dobbins type who shakes loose -- but swapping out May and trading for a different rental starter (even if that's more about salary relief for SF) feels counterintuitive
5:31
General priority would be about putting the pieces in place for the best roster they can have in 2027-28 without tanking their '26 season, which is achievable since they don't have any marquee rentals who'd make that a tougher call
Alright we've hit 90 minutes so I'm going to wrap and see how we're looking on news
