Referring to freelance journalists, Kapur says, "If you can look for stories that nobody else is telling, you will find that newsrooms like ours are hungry for those kind of stories."

"I think a lot of young journalists are coming up with great ideas. But they struggling to pitch a story. Knowing how to pitch and develop stories according to news organizations format is more important."

Anuradha Das Mathur: "This is a tough time. But there is also a commitment to earning a living." She adds, "Lots of journalists move into roles in corporate sector around communication and content creation. The ability to say that I have a strength to package differently to meet the needs that can benefit from my strength, that is one way to look at it."

Neha Dixit: "I have been an independent journalist for eight years now, and saying it from my experience, you have to see journalism as what you want to do, but that is not going to get you money. So, do things which are not in conflict ethically with your journalism."
