Do you foresee Marcus Allen making the 53?
Gerry Dulac
12:58
I do.

From your perspective, what's the likelihood the team goes outside for Safety depth and TE #3 -- either via trade or waiver pickup?
Gerry Dulac

Tight end for sure, and I'm not sure it will be for a No. 3, but a No. 2. I don't think they're sold they have an NFL-caliber No. 2 tight end on their roster right now. They can get away with Xavier Grimble being a 3, but a top backup....??

Is there any chance Hodges makes a push for the #3 QB job?
Gerry Dulac
1:01
I really don't see that happening. Then again, I didn't think they would release Landry Jones last year -- a decision I didn't like then and hated even more after the Oakland game

Gerry, after last week's poor tackling, any changes noticed in practice this week to address it?
Gerry Dulac
1:01
Nope. None

Any further murmurings about Javon Hargrave getting extended?
Gerry Dulac
1:01
Not yet. They're still working on Joe Haden, and that has been delayed for various reasons out of their control

Hi Gerry! Is Switzer as much of a roster-lock as some believe he is? Or is he on the bubble competing for a spot?
Gerry Dulac
1:01
Stamp him in

How do Dobbs and Rudolph compare in your eyes?  Would you agree that Rudolph seems more of a pocket passer, while Dobbs is more multi-dimensional?  In my opinion, Dobbs bomb to Washington would have been a touchdown if Rudolph threw it, but Rudolph can't scamper like Dobbs did.  So who comes out on top?
Gerry Dulac
1:03
Well, your observations are correct, but I think in the end (whenever that is) Rudolph will be the No. 2 guy. The Steelers like their quarterbacks in the pocket, attacking the defense with their arm, not their feet. Running QBs are a short-term diversion, not a long-term answer, not in the NFL

I was impressed with Ulysees Gilbert last weekend, even though his competition was primarily 3rd stringers. Did he do enough to earn more opportunities against KC?
Gerry Dulac
1:03
Yes he did and I think you will see that Saturday night

Gerry, given that ray sherman was once an offense coordinator, do you foresee him collaborating with randy fichtner with offensive strategy?
Gerry Dulac
1:04
None whatsoever.

Johnny Holton had a good debut last weekend. Is there any chance he could make it as the next “DHB”?
Gerry Dulac
1:04
He has a very good chance indeed. Wouldn't be surprised if he's the sixth receiver. In fact, right now, he's my sixth receiver.

Will QB MR be the back up for Big Ben this year.  Also will the steelers  trade for a veteran TE?

Most of the news around former Steelers has been about Big Chest, and I think we are all glad he is somewhere else, but seems like there has been much less news on Mr. Bell.  Any chance that no pay check for 12 months has matured him?
Gerry Dulac
1:05
They moved on from 26 last year. He is old news. He's NY's problem now

I think most people think, including me, that Big Chest will have reduced results, whether its his feet, or his new QB and offense, but what about Bells production this year?  Up, down, or about the same as 2017?  And, bonus question, Jason Whitten retired and is returning this year, do you think he will be anywhere close to the Jason from two years ago?
Gerry Dulac
1:07
Bell has missed too much football and way too much training camp before this. You saw how rusty and poor his timing was after missing just one training camp. Now you're talking two and a whole season. As for Witten, he will be even worse. All he will be able to do is sit in the zone and catch a ball thrown to him. He will be a shadow of himself.

Do the Steelers plan any tribute to Daryl, like initials on the helmet, for this season, or for a game?
Gerry Dulac
1:07
I'm sure they will

Do you think Horton has a chance to make the 53?  How come we always hear about players doing so well at practice and preseason but they never seem to make the 53-example, Patterson from Youngstown last year. He played well in preseason games
Gerry Dulac
1:08
Yeah, but he couldn't and didn't do much on special teams. And that Horton guy you talk about, he does. I like that Johnny Holton too.

Hi Gerry, in your opinion, during training camp, has there been a noticeable difference in the tempo, attitudes, or culture of this team compared to some of the Super Bowl winning teams of the past?   I’m just curious if there is an optimism amongst players or coaches that we out of state fans may not be aware of.
Gerry Dulac
1:10
That is something that sounds good and makes for a good narrative, but it is not something that is noticeably palpable. The attitude in training camp is ALWAYS the same -- upbeat and determined.

In your opinion is Marcus Allen on the outside looking in ?
Gerry Dulac

No.

Good problem - ILB’s.. How many make final 53.. Five? .. 55, 26, 98, 44 and ___?
Gerry Dulac
1:10
Depends on Gilbert and special teams. But I say 5.

Hi! Do you see the Steelers keeping just two QBs in order to have more depth in order position like: CB or WR?
Gerry Dulac
1:10
Nope. They always keep 3 and that is not changing. Ever

Hi Gerry I'm assuming with the fact Tomlin said Rudolph will start Saturday night against the Chiefs he'll backed up by Dobbs than Hodges no Roethlisberger until week 3 right?
