If Tomlin allowed himself, in your informed opinion what do you think he thinks about the Harbaugh firing?  Seems to me it takes away a lot of the substance of the rivalry he cherished.
Gerry Dulac
10:24
As a coach and rival, I'm sure he doesn't like it

Why not pull Rodgers from the Spartan and have an extra big?
Gerry Dulac

The 2026 QB class coming out in this draft is almost just a 2 horse race between Mendoza and Moore as far as possible 1st round guys go. Unless someone really impresses at pro days or the combine, do you think the Steelers start to lean more towards a different position and worry about a rookie QB in 2027? Especially if they make headway in the playoffs and win a game or 2 and they’re picking in the later 20’s?
Gerry Dulac
10:29
Well, you're right, each playoff advancement -- if there are any -- drops them further down the draft chart, making it more expensive to make any moves. I don't think they're going to reach and take a QB just to take one if they don't think they have the right guy. If not, I know what I'm doing with the first four picks otherwise -- WR, DE, G, WR

Hey Gerry, is it odd that I feel bittersweet about Harbaugh being fired??  I respected him but going to miss his painful blank look every year (mostly twice) when the Steelers would beat him!
Gerry Dulac
10:30
No, not at all. I didn't like the firing, but, hey, it happens. He will be fine and get another offer right away. If I'm the Falcons or Giants, I jump on him today

happy new year, i think this team can get to afc championship game, i think the class of afc is jacksonville, whats you say, thanks
Gerry Dulac
10:30
I'm not going to argue about Jacksonville. Man, can they score points.

Do you think the Steelers will keep on more versatile all France now that Metcalf is back this week versus Houston?
Gerry Dulac
10:32
Even though I'm not sure what the heck you are saying, I think they will keep on doing what they have been doing, which is, getting Metcalf involved, checking down to Gainwell and Warren, but maybe FINALLY understanding they have to throw to 88 in important situations. Look at what he has done the past two games in the most critical moments.

Do you agree with the Steelers as a 3.5 point underdog? It is a good game to take Pittsburgh!
Gerry Dulac
10:33
I think so

Hi Gerry. Happy New Year. Was DK Metcalf's suspension a little harsh? Two games, or nearly 12% of the season, for a punch that didn't connect with the fan. Compare that to Mike Milbury of the Boston Bruins, who got 6 games (7.5% of the season) for beating a Rangers fan in the stands with his own shoe in 1979. What gives?
Gerry Dulac
10:33
I really thought it would be reduced to one game in appeal and was shocked that it wasn't.

When we have a 4th and 1 and plan to do the tush push, why do we waste an extra blocker by having AR just stand there?  I understand that occasionally they might do a trick play, but for the other 99% of the time, they could improve their push.
Gerry Dulac
10:34
What did you say....a trick play??
Wadman
10:34
Gman…. The Steelers haven’t  been a favorite in a playoff game in years.  Have played most of those games on the road against teams with vastly superior quarterbacks.  I praise Tomlin for getting those (mostly average) teams to the playoffs.  I don’t bury him for losing them.  That said, this game feels different.  Would you rather play this game on the road with Rodgers or at home without him?
Gerry Dulac
10:34
I'll take playing with him anywhere, but I'm glad it's home

10:34
Do you think Harbaugh would be open to a defensive coordinator position with the Steelers or would that interfere with Tomlins defense fantasy coaching?
Gerry Dulac
10:35
No. He'll be a head coach again very soon

Happy New Year Mr. Dulac.  I must say that I am pleasantly surprised with the overall experience of having Aaron Rodgers as our qb. And while I have never met him personally, the labels put on him do not match what I have witnessed as a fan. I love his passion, he seems to respect his teammates, and his Christmas expression for his oline was definitely MVP quality.   A life lesson maybe, to not judge a person based solely on what other people say. Mr Rodgers it's been a pleasure.  Now go help us win a playoff game!!
Gerry Dulac
10:36
That has been his message to the players since he arrived here -- get to know me, not judge me on things you might have heard and read. He has been an open book with the players and they all love him. He has been a surprising, pleasant and wonderful addition.

Happy New Year Gerry,  Which statistic carries more weight?  Mike Tomlin's 12-0 record at home on Monday night or that the Steelers have been outscored 73-0 in the first quarters of their last 5 playoff games?
Gerry Dulac
10:41
Good question. Let's take Tomlin at home on MNF for $200, Alex. BTW, it's 63-0, not 73-0.

The John Harbaugh firing, although thought possible, was still shocking when it happened. Do you see a world where another loss in the playoffs for the Steelers produces a similar result? Bonus question: What was your favorite moment in the Tomlin/Harbaugh rivalry?
Gerry Dulac
10:44
I'm sure there might be some universe out there where that might exist, but it wouldn't be a firing anyway. Favorite moments: Troy TD int. return in AFC Championship, Austin 26 TD, AB Immaculate Extension, Troy strip sack/Woodley fumble return, Santonio Holmes goalline TD. Hey, wait, Tomlin or Harbaugh weren't involved in any of those plays.

What's the usual food spread for reporters at games?  Do you have a go-to meal or do you skip it?
Gerry Dulac
10:46
I will go to a meal if I'm hungry, but I don't have a go-to meal. Some stadiums are very expansive with their dining options.

Good morning Mr. Dulac.  While we saw Warren and Gainwell in the on the field at the same time sparingly, why aren't we seeing it more.  They have to be two of the better players on offense, so why don't we see more featured packages during games?  Surely having both on the field at the same time would give defenses more to worry about?
Gerry Dulac
10:46
Can't have them both out there all the time. Then neither one of them would get a breather.

Aaron Rodgers does not seem to be bothered by his broken left wrist. How much pain is he toughing it out through every game? Broken bones do not heal quickly when you are over 40. Could the broken wrist be a factor in his retirement?
Gerry Dulac
10:49
You should know that the recovery/healing period and pain tolerance for elite athletes is just a little different than that of the average human. But I'm sure it feels a little better each  week. I think it's apparent his wrist is not an issue whatsoever and has no bearing on his future.

Hey Gerry hope you're doing well. Very well could be another one-and-done year, but it feels different this year. They are getting hot at the right time, winning 4 of their last 5, obviously Houston winning 9 in a row but would you still give the Steelers the edge with home field and Rodgers really coming along over the last few weeks?
Gerry Dulac
10:50
I don't think there's any question that's what's working in the Steelers favor. They are definitely peaking at the right time.
IUPDave10:49Good morning Mr Dulac.   I noticed the last two games number 88 has been targeted.  Is he a newer player?   Where has this been all year long?   Can we finally expect to see more of Muth on this single elimination tournament?
Sarcasm, eh?
Noah Kravitz
10:50
You said that in the event the Steelers lose to the ravens that Rodgers will not be coming back, if they find a way to beat Houston it's almost a gimme that he'll be back right? regardless of their plans in the draft.
Gerry Dulac
10:52
I wouldn't go that far. But what I did say is, if he does come back (and that's a big if) and they want him back, it does not change what the Steelers intend to do in the draft. And, by intend, it doesn't mean will. Circumstances will dictate that
