I know it has been much discussed of Tomlin’s control over everything including drafting, but do You believe that was true. When looking at our drafting: we really are just a 10-7 team
Gerry Dulac
1:27
It was Tomlin's team, and he had the majority of control over the players he wanted. Now, it wasn't an autocracy, but I think there was deference to his tenure.

Gerry, what positions do you think the Steelers will look to add via free agents versus the draft?
Gerry Dulac

DT, G, CB.

Your thoughts on the 3-4  versus  the 4-3 defensive alignment in today’s NFL?  Using a very small sample, the last 2 SBs seems that if you can get pressure with only 4 rushers that is a huge advantage but it seems that normally the Steelers bring 4 with one of the OLBs rushing. I guess I just made my own argument that it depends upon personal and not  scheme?
Gerry Dulac
1:29
Haha. I was going to say you just answered your own question.

Why do you think Greenwood isn't in the HoF?
Gerry Dulac
1:31
Not everyone can get in. I think it's a disgrace Ken Anderson isn't in the HOF. I don't think there is a Steelers bias or anything like that. I have never heard that in my time on the selection committee. But I'm sure there might be a couple voters who might think, yeah, LC, was very good, but look at the players who surrounded him. I'm not saying that's valid, but it's possible.

Will we be hearing fire McCarthy chants this season?
Gerry Dulac
1:32
Only if the same $#%&#* people attend the games.

Do the Steelers have any interest in the following (I hope not):  Murray, Cousins, Taylor, Tua, Lance, Fields?
Gerry Dulac
1:32
As my friend Bob Labriola likes to say -- asked and (you) answered.

Was it a stunning end for Tomlin to go from chest beating and blowing kisses one week to resigning in disgrace the next? And yes, I do think it is disgraceful to lose every playoff game in the past 9 years by double digits.
Gerry Dulac
1:33
I would not call it disgrace. And you use the word twice.

Isn't it a bit ridiculous that Watt is being portrayed as if he's washed up?
Gerry Dulac
1:35
He's not washed up at all, but safe to say he hasn't played at the same level of past years

It seems unlikely that a team will trade for Johnu Smith, right?

Hey Gerry. Thanks for the chats! Would you say it's more or less likely Rodgers returns? I just feel like its time to try something different, and hoping more in the Steelers FO feel the same way
Gerry Dulac
1:37
They do feel that way, which is why, even if he returns, their INTENTION of what they would like to do in the draft is unchanged. They know they can't keep going with a different quarterback every year. The Browns do that.

So why is everyone discounting Wil Howard as a potential QB option. Go
Gerry Dulac
1:38
Oh, he's an option, but that doesn't mean he's the solution. And not everyone is discounting him.

Hi Gerry, do you know if the Steelers will make a serious effort to keep Gainwell or will the market for him be too costly?  Thank you.
Gerry Dulac
1:39
I don't think the market cost will be that high for Gainwell, then again, look at Justin Fields. And, as I said a little earlier, never underestimate the desperation of an NFL GM.

Rodgers coming. Rodgers not coming. I need an expert opinion. Please give us a % that he will be oymqb in 2026.

The Steelers generally like to have two experienced QBs on the roster, correct?  If that's the case, it seems unlikely they would cut Rudolph and go with a roster of Rogers (or other FA signing), Howard, and a draft pick?
Gerry Dulac
1:40
You're being a realist.

Hi Gerry, Is there some ulterior motive like maybe asking for a billion dollar stadium soon that is behind Rooney wanting to maintain the competitive but not great status quo for the next few years?  It is easier to ask for taxpayer dollars when the team is 10-7 rather than 4-13.
Gerry Dulac
1:40
None whatsoever.

How much contact is the coaching staff permitted to have with players under contract in the offseason?  For instance, what if the new staff wants to send workout regimens, or maybe "playbooks", or just ask players their thoughts on things, develop a rapport or working relationship, etc.?
Gerry Dulac
1:41
Coaches are not allowed to have supervised practices or workouts with the players unless otherwise authorized with OTAs and minicamps.

I assume the Steelers will consider Malik Willis once FA starts.  And I assume another team will offer Willis a bunch of guaranteed money to sign him.  While I was impressed with Willis this season replacing injured Jordan Love, I am just not sure if he is the real deal or Matt Cassel with much fewer starts.  Any idea what the Steelers are thinking about Willis?
Gerry Dulac
1:43
I wouldn't make the assumption you just did about Malik Willis. I don't think the Steelers are.

Hello Gerry.  Today is a sad day for the Steelers Nation.  Mike Wagner was a great player whose humbleness should be emulated by today’s athletes.  My condolences to the Wagner family, friends, coaches and teammates.  RIP Mike Wagner.  Thank you Gerry.

Hi Gerry, I've read about the possibility of Jalen Nailor following Coach Angelichio to Pittsburgh. With all of the new Pittsburgh coaching additions, have you heard of any other promising players who might be interested in joining their former coaches and playing for the Steelers in 2026?
Gerry Dulac
1:45
Coaches looking to bring in new players always look to their former teams, to players with whom they are familiar. So that would not be far-fetched.
