Based on GM Khan’s comments regarding the teams current cap comfort, do you see them making more in-house moves rather than Edmunds from Buffalo?
Gerry Dulac

Yes.

Hi Gerry, thanks for the chats.  I know CB is an area of need, but I'm OK with the FO drafting players over 300 lbs with their first 3 picks.  We need to bring back the bully mentality in the trenches.  Thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
10:18
I don't have a problem with that, as long as those bullies can play

How can we really evaluate Omar as a NFL talent evaluater since he was mainly on the finance side?  Did he get involved in prior years with going out and scoring players?  Seems like Weidle would be the guy I would want being involved on draft day deciding who to select.  Omar, MT and Art II does not give me much confidence.  Thank you.
Gerry Dulac
10:19
That's why they brought in Andy Weidl as asst GM. That's his forte

What is your prediction for Chase Claypool's 2023 season number of receptions and yards?
Gerry Dulac
10:19
I'm sorry to tell you I don't care.

Hello . Thank you as always for the chat. I have to say that my hope for Steelers fortifying DL and OL have been dashed  after hearing from Omar khan that final decision will be made by him , Tomlin and Rooney and Weidl does not have the place on the table . After all , 2 of those three were part of decision making under KC and the DL and OL got ignored . So what hope is there that it will not be business as usual . Do you concur ? Thank you very much .

Andy Weidl will have input because he is the guy putting together the draft board from which those players will be selected. Trust me, he will be involved

Why was Hines Ward not given the wide receiver coach job especially with immature young players? He is a true Steeler and when he asked for total control over the wide receivers he not get the job.

You might want to ask him and gauge his response.

Do Steven Sims and Gunner make the Steelers roster in 2023 assuming Calvin Austin is on it?
Gerry Dulac
10:22
One of those two will definitely be gone.

The Steelers should focus on the DL and the OL in free agency and the draft over any other position. Your thoughts.
Gerry Dulac
10:22
My thoughts are well-known on that subject, which is to say I agree with you

Gerry,   Could you please explain the difference between a 'game ball' and a 'kicking ball'?  Thank you,
Gerry Dulac
10:25
The kicking ball, or K ball, started being used because the league thought kickers and punters were "doctoring" the regular football to make them fly farther and even straighter. So they have these K balls that are used only for kicking plays. They are specially marked and handled only by game officials, not team personnel.

Some outsiders now say Pickett is among, or the lowest ranked QB in the NFL. Many locals are optimistic, based on late season improvement. Pitt followers probably believe he is our franchise QB. What are we to think?
Gerry Dulac
10:26
That's what next year is for. We shall see.

Turned LIV on for a few minutes to get a taste. Felt like I was watching a practice round - shanks galore, guys walking around in shorts, reloading off the tee... they have a product problem, and obviously a revenue problem. And I don't think the team 'franchises' are the answer. Could be short.... LIVed

Hi Gerry what are the chances that you think we can trade for Jalen Ramsey he would really help out or secondary along with Cameron Sutton and Minkah Fitzpatrick
Gerry Dulac
10:28
Well, you never like to rule out any possibility, but I don't think the Steelers are in position to pick up a contract like Ramsey that pays him $17 million and counts $25 million against the cap this year. So.....no chance.
Bill
10:28
Arw the Steelers really going to keep an $8 million dollar back up QB in Trubisky as they are indicating when they know they can get a good one for $ 2 or $3 million?
Gerry Dulac
10:28
Name a good one you can get for $2-3 million???

I see on NFL.com that the "Quarterback push" will be reviewed and possibly made illegal.  I may be in the minority, but I'd like to see it eliminated for player safety.  I can see a play where the defense is pushing hard and high....the offense is pushing hard and low, and the quarterback's body in the middle bends the wrong way and he gets seriously injured...maybe even a broken back.  While that scenerio has a slight chance....I think the chance of a serious injury should stop that play from happening...before a QB

I'm surprised the league has allowed that "push" play to even exist. Agreed, time to outlaw it.

Gerry, Have you uncovered any tangible reasons that led to Jerry O being replaced? He has not had much to work with since Shazier was injured.
Gerry Dulac
10:30
Other than they wanted to make a change, no. He did very little when Flores was there last year. Maybe they wanted someone younger.

Hi Gerry, am I a bad person if I don't really care who they sign or draft, I know someone overpriced will be in that Helmut?
Gerry Dulac
10:30
Not at all. Just patient and sane.

Clearly, Devin Bush is soon to be an ex-Steeler; however, the 2019 draft class didn't produce many superstars.  At least Bush saw the field (Just wish we had the other Devin or Pratt--3rd round).  Anyway, Johnson in the third wasn't the worst draft haul in Steelers' history.  Are the arm-chair critics perhaps a little too hard on Colbert for that one?
Gerry Dulac
10:32
The draft critics will always howl unless they find Stallworth in the fourth round, Webster in the fifth, Antonio brown in the sixth round or Keisel in the seventh.

When you reference the Minnesota center, do you believe he could be there at 32 or would they consider getting him at 17.
Gerry Dulac
10:33
He could be there at 32, at which point I'd jump all over him.
OK kids, gotta run and attend some combine stuff. Thanx for the questions.
