Hi Gerry
Enjoy your chats. TY!
Do you think any QBs in this draft are that much better than who is already on the Steelers roster?
Gerry Dulac
1:12
Honestly, I don't. But I do think Malik Willis gives them the type of QB they don't have, which is why he might make the most sense -- if they would decide to draft one.

Hi Gerry:  Where did this Steeler love affair with WR “combat catches” come from?  Numbers 11, 13, and 85 were supposed to excel at that.  In my view they just jump up and fall down, sometimes with the ball.  When I played HS ball last century you were supposed to “get open.”  Guys like J Chase, CD Lamb, D Adams, C Kupp “get open.”

Hey, who let this intelligent guy in the chat???

Hello Gerry.  Busy day for you on radio and chat.  I watched 2018 highlights and Juju was dynamic after the catch.  Is he still capable of that without Antonio?
Gerry Dulac
1:19
Yes he was and I have to think he is. He's only 24 after all. Of course, he doesn't have the space that was created by AB to run.

One rumor has the Steelers interested in Mitch Trubisky. Word out of Buffalo is he has made significant improvements in his game. How would you feel about that signing if it happens?
Gerry Dulac
1:21
I think that would be the best move they could make, short of signing Russell Wilson. If you watch the PG website later, I will have more to say about Trubisky and the Steelers

Hi Gerry:  I read some old reviews and coming out for the draft few really criticized MR’s arm, size, or speed.  It was all about college level shotgun formations, never under center, and lack of progressions to receivers. He must have learned progressions after 4 years on the Steelers.  Is he considered an accurate thrower?
Gerry Dulac
1:21
Yes, more than being considered an inaccurate thrower. To your point, that's why I'm not sure any QB in this draft is appreciably better than Mason Rudolph.

Ger,                                               Why all the poopooing of Randolph before he is even named the starter?  It makes little sense, what’s the worst he can do, throw 2.3 yard passes and dump the ball 8 yds. deep in back field?  If they can get some quality pieces on OL, some depth on DL, establish a running game, let Canada run his offense, why can’t they be successful?
Gerry Dulac

You had me till that last part.

If the Steelers do draft a QB this year which one intrigues you the most? Im sold on Malik Willis personally.
Gerry Dulac
1:23
Willis is the most intriguing because of his athleticism. Doesn't mean that's the way to go.

Gerry, reports are that Tuitt wants to play next year. Can you confirm?
Gerry Dulac
1:24
That's what Kevin Colbert said. But it's going to take more than saying you want to play. They have to be convinced he is committed and fully invested to play, and nobody should blame the Steelers if they are wary of that.

Gerry what's the latest on Tuitt? I hate the talk about letting him go, he is Great
Gerry Dulac
1:25
He is not great, but he is very good. And they are not planning to let him go. Not now. They want him back, but only if he is fully invested to come back.

Gerry, pick one of the four to be the starter next season: Rudolph, Trubisky, Winston, Bridgewater

Rudolph

how many OL and DL players do the Steelers draft in 2022?
Gerry Dulac
1:26
Should be 3, but only if 2 are defensive linemen. And in the first two days of the draft.

Does Jordan Davis have the ability to play DE in the 3-4?
Gerry Dulac
1:26
Sure, because a DE in the 3-4 is really a DT

Gerry, what’s the likelihood of Juju returning? I think he should be a big priority to the team. Provides the team with more flexibility in other areas in the draft and a safety net for a potential young QB. Thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
1:28
Agreed, but most importantly because the Steelers would be turning the WR room over to 18 and 11, and that's not a good idea. JuJu is a tough, dependable receiver who can be something the Steelers don't have on offense -- a leader.

I read Ziese about Tuitt and I also saw Colberts comments about him recently.  I think its time to move on from him as he has been unreliable especially for his salary. If things aren't workin then its time to change up to get a different outcome.
Gerry Dulac
1:29
I don't think the Steelers share your sentiment.

If/when Brian Flores becomes a HC again and he is still on the Steeeles coaching staff, will the team get the two 3rd round comp picks bc of a minority promotion?
Gerry Dulac

They didn't promote him, the team that hires him will have

Good Afternoon Gerry,   I keep hearing reports from some saying Tuitt has sold his house and will not be playing football this year in Pgh., then i read the report from Colbert that he is confident Tuitt wants to play.  What say you?

Just said earlier.

How many compensatory picks do the Steelers have this year?
