If that happened, I could see that. But it's a safer bet they will cut Chickillo (for sure) and Foster than Switzer. Keeping Finney makes perfect sense.

Gerry, who do you like in the Players this week? I think Rahn has a real shot. On to football. I just read Cook's article on the CBA and if 65% of the NFL players played at the league minimum, I would think they'd pass it. Why would Pouncey be against it?
Gerry Dulac
11:17
The number of players who play for the league minimum is nearly 60 percent, not 65, which, yes, is why it will pass. Veterans who have made their money, like Pouncey, don't want a 17th game. They are tired of having their bodies beat up with 16 games, and I get it.

Retain their best players more than any other team?  That doesn't apply to Bell or Brown, who are among their best in a long time.
Gerry Dulac
11:18
They were rid for different reasons. Had nothing to do with WANTING to retain them. It had more to do with WANTING to get rid of their nonsense. Which was the absolute right thing to do.
CincySteelerfan
11:18
Gerry, I believe the Steelers will draft a WR with their 2nd round pick since there's so many quality WR's. It would be like picking a 1 at 49. Do you agree?
Gerry Dulac
11:19
I think that is a good possibility
CincySteelerfan
11:19
can't wait for Steelers-Cowboys as my wifes from South Carolina and a Cowboys fan.
Gerry Dulac
11:19
Well, I wouldn't get too excited. Most of the players who will appear in that game won't even be on the roster in September.
Hall of fame
11:20
How come the Steelers don't have an actual team hall of fame building?  Took a long time to build this hall of honor thing, but it's not much.  Do any teams have actual buildings dedicated to their own hall of fame?
Gerry Dulac
11:21
I'm not sure if other teams do. I think the Packers have some sort of building/extension for their own Hall of Fame. I think that's what the Steelers are doing with the Great Hall. But the Pro Football HOF has more than 320 enshrinees. Hard to put up a building for 20-30 guys.

May I ask who your favorite Steeler of all time to interview?
Gerry Dulac
11:23
There are more than several. At the top of the list are James Farrior, Dermontti Dawson, Brett Keisel, just to name a few.
CincySteelerfan
11:23
Do the players really like doing the out in a restaurant radio shows? AB always seemed like he was asleep on his show with you.
Gerry Dulac
11:23
I think they like the payday
Justin
11:23
If the Steelers are keeping Barron (per your earlier prediction), how are they getting under the cap to afford Dupree tag?  Foster (3m) and Chick (5m) won't get you there.
Gerry Dulac
11:26
There are other ways. When they re-sign Heyward, that will lessen their cap hit by $2-3 million, for example. They can re-do other contracts and turn their salaries into signing bonuses. They know what they're doing more than you. And me.

Gerry any chance we draft Jalen Hurts? I would love to see them go speed at WR in round 2?
Gerry Dulac
11:26
Uh....no
Not happy
11:26
Leveon Bell is better than any of the other free agents signed last year.  The Steelers were hosed in not getting the first 3rd round comp pick.  Do you agree with that?
Gerry Dulac
11:26
It's based on a total formula. However, I agree with you
Sergio from Mexico
11:27
Hello Gerry. What is your opinion on the new CBA? Do you think it will be a Yes? Thanks for keeping us informed of our Steelers here south of the border!!! Vamos Steelers!
Gerry Dulac
11:27
I think it will be an overwhelming yes.
CincySteelerfan
11:27
If the Bengals draft the LSU kid, would they actually trade the red rifle to the Pats?
Gerry Dulac
11:27
I think Andy Dalton is a very good free-agent pickup for a lot of teams, including the Patriots.
CincySteelerfan
11:28
Don't Steelers-Cowboys play during the regular season?
Gerry Dulac
11:28
Yes.
Chuck from Michigan
11:28
Gerry, the Steelers have had a heavy emphasis and success of drafting Big Ten players the last several years.  What Big Ten players do you like at RB/TE/OL with the 49th pick?
Gerry Dulac
11:28
Jonathan Taylor. You can stop right there.
AA

I wonder why so many fans are so down on Dupree?  He wasn’t great the first couple years but did produce in a contract year.  If they franchise him, it’s still a contract year, for him.  How do you rate him?
Gerry Dulac
11:30
To a degree, yes it is a contract year. But, if he were playing for a bigger deal in 2019, he will get it with the franchise tag, somewhere around $15-16 million. I think the Bud I saw last year is very good for what you want from a 3-4 edge rusher. I have no problems with him whatsoever.
AK
11:30
Why are people so high on Jalen Hurts?  3rd round picks rarely become franchise QBs?
Gerry Dulac
11:30
Pay the man.
Thomas
11:30
Lets pretend the 'Lers draft offense with their first 3 picks, what are your first 3 priorities, and do you have anyone in particular in mind?  Can they get a workhorse RB in the 2nd rd?
Gerry Dulac
11:32
They don't need a workhorse running back, they need a No. 1 big-play RB. But, for your arguments sake, I'd go some combination of WR-RB-G, RB-TE-OL, WR-RB-TE.
Jerry
11:32
Hey Gerry! I think the contract Ben got was terrible for the organization. A old QB making over 30 million a year. Your thoughts
Gerry Dulac
11:32
And you want to pay who how much....????
Raymund
11:33
Which WR and Which RB would you like or hope @ 49 that could be available realistically, Not one that obviously won’t be there most likely ? Thanks Gerry !
Gerry Dulac
11:33
WR -- Jefferson, Pittman, Hamler. RB-- Taylor.
Lou
11:33
Hey Gerry.  I see above you mentioned Ben and his spin rate. Do they high speed video that and slow it down and count?  A chip in the ball?
