<RANT>I, for one, am so OVER "mock" drafts and everyone with a keyboard playing make-believe GM.  Glad its finally here so we don't have to have dozens of pretend draft articles on every sports site every week. <END RANT>

The big questions is - do you think we will even have a season that starts on time and if so, will fans be allowed to attend in person?  As a season ticket holder, Im holding off on sending payment for this year until things are clarified.
Gerry Dulac

That's what everyone wants to know, and, you're luck, they'll start holding a "mock draft" as to when the season starts. As of right now, and with no knowledge of this, I think the NFL will be like college football. Teams will get like 4-4 weeks of training, conditioning, maybe a scrimmage, to get ready for the regular season. There will be no preseason. I'm sure the NFL's prime objective will be to start the regular season on time, if at all possible. I don't think they're too concerned with preseason games.

How much do the Steelers — and other teams — count on “coaching up” even high draft choices when they decide whom to draft or sign? In other words, might they take into account how high a ceiling a player has and select him instead of someone else because of his higher potential? I am thinking especially of OL. Thanks.
Gerry Dulac
10:51
Sure they do, and sometimes they do that to their own detriment

10:51
Hi Gerry, do you think Steelers would have any interest in JK Dobbins if he fell to 49? Or would they most likely go the Cam Akers route if they’re targeting a running back there
Gerry Dulac
10:52
I'm sure they would to a degree, but his body type does not fit what they typically desire in a running back, especially a No. 1 running back. Cam Akers is a good fit in the second round because he has size and speed.

mister wise crack man, what do you think of the rooneys trading ben and ju ju for a sixth round pick?  or don't you think anybody wants ben ?
Gerry Dulac

Where's that delete button...??

10:53
Yes, it is Draft Day. Instead of another QB, how about the Steelers trying to get and resign JOSH DOBBS from Jacksonville?  I thought that was the most stupid thing they did in the 2019 Season.
Gerry Dulac
10:53
I was surprised when they did it.

If the Steelers were interested in trading down from pick 49, what kind of return could they realistically expect?
Gerry Dulac
10:54
Maybe, maybe, a fourth-round pick.
Brian
10:54
I'm hoping Pitman Rd 2 & Hennessy Rd 3
Gerry Dulac
10:54
Not bad choices at all.
Matteo
10:54
I know they’re looking for speed, but do you think they’d have an interest in the receiver Tyler Johnson out of Minnesota? Solid hands and great route running -and he reminds me a lot of Hines
Gerry Dulac
10:54
Not in the second round.

Gerry - there has to be a punter somewhere on this planet better than  Berry, agree? How is this guy still around?
Gerry Dulac
10:55
Well, they certainly won't look for one in the draft.

Hey Gerry! Hope all is well. It's gotta be WR or RB with our pick at #49 correct? Also, what are the chances of that trade for Lenorad Fornette??
Gerry Dulac
11:02
Big Ed.....An offensive skill player should and likely will be their top pick in the draft, someone who is a playmaker. That's usually a wide receiver. As for Fournette, I don't see that happening because of the money he would count against the cap, even though his base salary in 2020 is a cap-friendly $4.471 million

Good morning Gerry.  I, (and I'm sure you too) am looking forward to the "Lefty" and Tiger (and QBs) golf "match".
Gerry Dulac
11:03
I wasn't looking forward to the first one. Just a lame exhibition, but good fun.

Hi Gerry! Do you see Carlos Hyde as a good option at RB?
Gerry Dulac
11:03
No. Not now.

I'm sure the NFL front office has multiple scenarios for disruption of the schedule.  The easy one is no preseason.  But let's say they need to shorten the season by 2 or 4 games, will teams just play the games remaining on the schedule, or would the preference be to redo the schedules so everyone completes their six divisional games?
Gerry Dulac
11:03
I think the league will try to play all 16 games.

With each passing day, I'm more and more convinced that reopening and getting back to 'normal' is not around the corner.  As long as thousand's of people are dying each day and new cases are reported, how can any of these sports resume play?
Gerry Dulac
11:04
Not going to disagree

I can't help but think that the Steelers need an RB more than a WR.  Even if Conner stays healthy, to me he's like a B-.  He can't break a long one, he's not a slam dunk 3d and 1 pound it out guy - he's a tweener.  It concerns me that they'll take a WR because there are so many highly rated WR's that the value will be there at 49.  Thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
11:05
I think that's the way they are leaning, but don't discount a running back with their top pick. And, as I've said many times, only take a RB on the second round or don't take one at all. They have plenty of RBs. They need a No. 1 RB or none at all.

Have you watched any 'vintage' sports on TV during stay in place?  I watched the 1970 game 7 between Knick/Lakers with Willis Reed limping down the court, 1987 game 7 with Celtics/Pistons, and the famous Reggie Miller/Spike Lee 1994 game five in the Garden.
Gerry Dulac
11:06
No I haven't, but the Willis Reed moment is still one of the great ones in my memory

11:06
Time to rebuild the OL?
Gerry Dulac
11:06
Nope. not yet
ChuckFromCT
11:06
How do they replace hargrave and is tuitt going to be ready?
Gerry Dulac
11:07
Tuitt will be ready. Hey, don't act like losing Hargrave is like losing T.J. Watt. The guy was a nice competent player whose stats actually went DOWN with more playing time in 2019.

Did the Steelers try to trade for gronk? Was it known that he was available or did Tampa and NE cohort this whole trade? I’m bored and been stuck at home for over a month
Gerry Dulac
11:07
No.
