Thanks for your work! Why all this angst about whether Ben will hand teh ball off? Ridiculous! He handed it off plenty to L Bell (think KC Playoff win) and DiAngelo, not to mention Fast Willie and The Bus! Now Bennie "Smell"....another story!

Bingo! Believe me, if Ben has a RB worth handing the ball to, he will hand him the ball.

Hi Gerry, I got my Draft Day wish with the Freiermuth pick. I am excited to see what the top 3 picks can do this year. Anyway, I don't get the Ben hate. I have a feeling that it comes from people who weren't alive during the 80's, let alone followed Steelers football in the 80's. He's the only quarterback who could do some of the stuff he did. 6'5" 240 lb version of Fran Tarkenton. The way he would evade and shrug off pass rushers and turn it into a big play was like nothing I had seen or have seen since( at least on the regular basis that he did it). He will be missed when he does hang up the cleats.

Three Super Bowl appearances, two trophies, 13 playoff victories. Yes people forget. They even forget the Steelers started 11-0 last season largely because of him...and after coming off major elbow surgery. yeah, they forget. I was reminded how ridiculous people are the other night when the Penguins lost Game 1 of their playoff series with the Islanders and immediately the knuckleheads started saying it's time to get rid of Crosby and move on. if you notice, that's why I give short, cryptic answers to the people in this chat who always want to move on from Ben as though he's a piece of broken furniture. I don't have much time for them.

Who is the emotional leader of that offensive line now? Pouncey has been the unquestioned leader for a long time.

Pouncey was a rare bird -- a leader by nature, by performance. You don't just order up a leader. You either are or you're not. But, to your question, the obvious answer is DeCastro.

I think the Steelers are not only looking for success this year, but the future as well. They will need the draft picks they made this year for down the road. There will be life after BB, and they have a boatload of cap space starting next year, even after signing TJ. Don't you believe they have this in mind? Also next year if not BB, maybe Garoppolo or who knows, Rodgers?

There is a reason they arguably are the league's most successful franchise for the past five decades. They play to win but always have their eye on the future.

With the emphasis on running and probably having Najee run till his wheels fall off, do you think Canada will have Watt as a fullback for blocking in most formations ?
Gerry Dulac
10:52
Nope. I don't think you will see him a lot, but if you do it will likely be in the second half of games where they are ahead and trying to run the clock. Fullbacks are not a big component of today's NFL game. I bet he's lucky if he averages more than 10 snaps a game (not counting special teams)

I see Ben having a monster year and shutting up all these "pundits" that say he is the 4th best QB in our division.  Run game stronger - o line stronger - receiver corps 5 deep - why all the downer talk out there Gerry????
Gerry Dulac

They already are MUCH better on offense, no question about it

How much of the offensive lines troubles last season was on the coaching versus the players?
Gerry Dulac

It is never one thing, it's always a combination of things. But I don't blame the players as much as I blame the scheme and technique used by the linemen.
OK kids, we're out of time. Thanx for the questions. I should be back at my normal day and time next week.
