Gerry, with the number of international games increasing how long will it be before the NFL becomes the IFL (International Football League)? Do you think these other countries will develop their own teams that will have to travel to the U.S. as well? I mean what’s the plan?
Gerry Dulac
10:07
The plan is simple -- to spread the NFL into a global empire. And they are doing a good job

10:07
Gerry do we trade for a receiver before the season if so who do you think we get
Gerry Dulac
10:08
Looking highly unlikely
Petey
10:08
Now that Aiyuk has not reported for OTAs, is it possible that the chances the Steelers and 49ers may engage in trade negotiations increase?
Gerry Dulac
10:09
Anything is possible Petey. But, just like Aiyuk asking the 49ers for a lot, the 49ers are asking a lot for Aiyuk

Gerry, I really thought Nick Herbig was impressive in his limited snaps last year. He seems like someone who could benefit from more opportunities, but you have two guys in front of him who you obviously don't want to take off the field if you can help it. Do you envision him starting to cut into Highsmith's snaps at all moving forward, or is he going to remain someone who just comes in to give TJ and Highsmith a breather now and then?
Gerry Dulac
10:10
I agree with your assessment, and so do the Steelers. But I think his role will not change, though I expect him he will be the first OLB off the bench this year, not the second.
Mr. Rooney

Gerry, I'm personally warming to the idea of Muth in the slot.  With all the consternation over a #2 receiver, whether warranted or not, it seems like an opportunity to create mismatches?  I imagine it's challenging for a slot defender to cover an Austin one play and a Muth the next?  Would a DC try and matchup with different slot personnel in this scenario or am I over-thinking any potential advantage here?
Gerry Dulac
10:11
Freiermuth is more of a flex TE, which means he can line anywhere

It seems to me that Najee Harris would stutter step and not hit the line for the first 6-8 games each year. It would be interesting to see his production in the 1st half of seasons compared to the last. Why Tomlin didn't tell him to get on his horse is typical for Tomlin.
Gerry Dulac
10:11
Najee gets better as the season goes on. He has shown that, and probably for the reason you suggest.
Willow

How is Fields an upgrade over Pickett? They seem to both be future journeyman QBs like Trubisky is.
Gerry Dulac
10:11
Entirely different skill set

Hi, if Cam would leave the Steelers, do you think his brother would want to leave at the first opportunity?
Gerry Dulac
10:12
I don't think Cam is leaving the Steelers

Hello. There is a lot of talk regarding contract extensions for Najee, Tomlin, Muth, Wilson, Cam and Fields. I would argue the Steelers are in the perfect position to extend nobody, and wait and see if they finish in last place in the North. Wouldn’t a last place finish be a perfect time to blow it up for a rebuild with lots of cap space?
Gerry Dulac
10:12
Blow it up? What do you call what they have been doing the last couple years, especially this year?

So glad to see Xander S win  last week.  He’s been a consistent player with a lot of class.  Your thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
10:13
Agreed

10:13
Any rumors about who might be replacing Bill Hilgrove?
Gerry Dulac
10:13
Not just yet
Mr. Rooney
10:13
Who's our 4th in the OLB rotation this year.  We typically target a productive vet.  Any word?
Gerry Dulac
10:14
None yet

Ask Geno Smith what Russ can do for you.  I can't see this QB room being any worse than anything since 2019. Improved QB play makes WR room better. What do you think an optimistic points/game is for this new offense? Have a good long weekend and thanks for the chats.
Gerry Dulac
10:14
I think the optimism is that the points per game will be more than what they were averaging under Matt Canada and with Kenny Pickett

10:14
As a follow up to Petey’s question and your response, what do you think the Steelers would have to give up for Aiyuk or Samuel?
Gerry Dulac
10:15
I think it would be a lot, at least one No. 1
Mr. Rooney
10:15
How is it a team like GB can re-stock the QB position so well.  But it takes the Steelers 20 years between franchise players?
Gerry Dulac
10:17
They made smart moves to draft Aaron Rodgers and Jordan Love when they already had a starting QB. The Steelers did that in 2004 with Roethlisberger when they already had a starter, though nobody like what the Packers had at the time when they picked their future starters. The Steelers were hoping Kenny Pickett was the answer

Hi Gerry. What's your favorite place to eat at Acrisure?
Gerry Dulac
10:17
I don't eat there
Scuba Steve
10:17
At this point in his career…why would Cam want to pull a Franco and end his career on a different team?
Gerry Dulac
10:17
I don't think he does.
Mr. Rooney
10:18
Watching Fields sprint for TD's he look like Lamar, Smith has got to have a sub0package for him....no?
Gerry Dulac
10:18
We'll see. But I will also tell you Mike Tomlin does not like to take his starting QB out of the game for a gimmick package.
Lefty
10:19
Why on earth is Tomlin still playing Dan Moore on the left and Jones on the right? I know OTAs just started but he has a tendency of sticking with his opening starters through training camp and in to the season unless one of them gets hurt or in the case of Chuks says something he doesn't like.
Gerry Dulac
10:19
I think it's called patience. I think they need to see what Troy Fautanu can do in pads.
Mr. Rooney
10:20
Gerry, I'm not even you and i ticked as hell about these morons challenging you to "admit" you were wrong.  Not for nothing but you dont strike me as some kind of ego-maniac with your opinions.  Tell 'em to pound sand

Those, uh -- what did you call them? -- they always feel compelled to question or challenge everything and anything. That's what Twitter is all about. It's their playground.
