OK kids, we will start our chat in just a few minutes. It might be a short one...busy morning
9:52
Ok here we go...

Gerry: Joe Starkey ran a poll in which an amazing 80% of the respondents were in favor of trading TJ Watt.  Do you think that represents the true portion of the fan base that favors a full rebuild or is it just an over-reaction to 299 yards rushing and TJ's poor 5 game stretch?
Gerry Dulac
9:53
Probably somewhere in between. What's the NY Times poll saying...??

TJ Watt and Myles Garrett decide to settle the question of who is really the best OLB in the NFL by “throwing down” in an alleyway. Who emerges from the alley when it's over?

Gerry: in 2009 Brett Favre came out of retirement and signed with the Vikings on August 18th.  As I recall, he was welcomed as a conquering hero by the Viking fanbase before he led them to the NFC Championship game that year.  Why do so many in Steeler nation think Rodgers should be given an ultimatum of now or never?
Gerry Dulac
9:53
I guess because their overly anxious

Gerry, if the Steelers traded for Jonnu Smith, what would a contract for him look like?
Gerry Dulac
9:54
I don't really think that's going to happen. And, if it did, he would be like their No. 3 TE, so that wouldn't require much

Hello Gerry. Nice article by Fittipaldo this morning on Holcomb. If he returns 100% the Steelers suddenly look pretty good at ILB. That said, Queen  seemed to be something of a polarizing figure last season. How did he grade out with the coaches?
Gerry Dulac
9:55
He graded out very well. And glad to see Holcomb back and looking even better

I’ll repeat my question from last week since you didn’t answer it. Do the Steelers have plans to renovate the stadium and if so what kind of changes do they want?
Gerry Dulac
9:55
Hmmm...musta missed it

Mason, on the verge of being the toast of the town, decides to alienate 49% of the fan base with his rally appearance. Do you have a strong opinion either way?
Gerry Dulac
9:55
I don't but apparently the fans do

There can’t be anymore new fresh questions to ask about the Steelers until after Game 1. Any possibility of having a golf chat next week because of the Open?
Gerry Dulac
9:56
Hey, there just might be. And you know what will happen -- people will ask Steelers questions on a golf chat.

Will Pouncey make the HOF? Is Bouchette still the voting rep from Pittsburgh?
Gerry Dulac
9:57
I think he might, but there might be a Steelers/center bias against another one getting in. And you're chatting with the Pgh voting rep.

Gerry, thanks for what you do.  Two questions for you: 1. What is your top pick for a golf trip in the United States for some pals to get away for a few days.  2.  What is the ceiling for the 2025 Steelers (I know it’s way early, but your gut).  Thanks!
Gerry Dulac

Wow, golf and Steelers. So many good ones. Kiawah Island is one of my favorites. Everyone loves Bandon Dunes (tough to get to). Streamsong in Fla. Pinehurst area is just tremendous. As for the Steelers, at most 10 wins.

Hi Gerry with the US open at Oakmont what is your favorite hole to play? Which one is the toughest in your opinion and what do you think the final winning score will be if you had to guess? Thank you and hope you enjoy covering the open we look forward to your coverage!
Gerry Dulac

My favorite hole(s) -- No. 2, No. 10, 13 and 18. Toughest? take your pick. 1-7-8-10-12-15-18

Weren't there letters written to the Steelers in support of Mason and Miles?  Why isn't that getting the same about of attention and support from the organization?
Gerry Dulac
9:59
Maybe, I don't know that

Gerry, is there one thing that helped your golf game more than anything else?

Goodmorning, Mr. Dulac. From what I understand Donald Parham was a capable blocker and pass catcher. Now that hes out with an achilles injury how does that affect the roster? I know Muth will get most of the targets and Mt. Warshington is a blocker, but this has to kind of stress the potential lack of receiving options, no?
Gerry Dulac
10:01
He would have been this year's MyCole Pruitt

Given the Steeler’s plan to draft a QB high in the 2026 draft, why do you think the Steelers bothered to draft Will Howard, who won’t play in 2025 and won’t be given a chance in 2026 or thereafter?
Gerry Dulac
10:01
Because they liked him?
Bill in LA

Kenny Picket won his only start with the Eagles last year with decent numbers, and was the “winning quarterback” on the final play of the Super Bowl. Why do you think the Eagles shipped out Kenny Pickett for low achiever Dorian Thompson-Robinson?
Gerry Dulac
10:02
I think because they really liked what they saw when their No. 3 QB played. I think they thought he would be better than Pickett as a backup

The Steelers decided to send letters because a minority of their fans whined about players going to a Trump rally.  Didn't Dan Rooney thank Obama on national TV after winning the Super Bowl?  Were letters sent out then?  What is the difference?
Gerry Dulac
10:03
And I believe he thanked him first above everyone else

If one assumes Rodgers plays anywhere near his career normal level after another year of Achilles healing and post being with the most dysfunctional team in the NFL, there is simply no comparison between his ceiling and Rudolph.   So, why are the fan angst about waiting for a decision?  Seems to be a football no brainer.
Gerry Dulac

Not going to argue. But we'll see

Will you be bringing the clubs to Ireland?
Gerry Dulac

No. But doesn't mean I won't play
