I used to read that training camp is for teaching, regular season is for practicing. But with young guys, especially rookies, is that still the case or does the staff build out extra time after practice to do more instruction, be it on field or in the film room? Thanks, Gerry.
Gerry Dulac
10:26
Wrong. Camp is for teaching and learning. The regular season is for performing. The NFL is not college

Who's going to lead the locker room dances if Marcus Allen won't be resigned?
Gerry Dulac
10:27
I hope nobody

Looking at the current ILB position do you think it was a big mistake not going after the bears ILB who is now signed with the Ravens last year?Seems like they are still trying to find someone to this day.
Gerry Dulac
10:27
Hey, you can't sign everyone, especially after you already have the two highest-paid players at their position in the NFL.

Any news on Freiermuth injury front?

None

You mentioned the media not being allowed to write about anything seen at practice. It's mini-camp! Seems ludicrous and another example of the paranoid nature of NFL coaching?

Bingo

Basketball season is now over. Which Steelers, past or present, had the best hooping skills? Any of them that could have exceled as a college -- or maybe even a pro -- basketball player? As a kid, I always looked forward to when the Steelers charity basketball team would come to town to play our teachers or police.

Sorry to say, I don't know because I have never attended one of those games. Ask the coach, my friend Tom O'Malley

Morning Gerry, I know most people put the sack production drop on the absence of TJWatt, but what are your thoughts on having a former DB as defensive coordinator instead of a linebacker.
Gerry Dulac
10:29
That has nothing to do with it. I think it was more not having 90 on the field for all those games.

Do you believe Kenny will be given more freedom to change plays at the line of scrimmage than he apparently had last year?
Gerry Dulac

Maybe a teensie-weensie

Where would you rank two WRs of Pittsburgh history: Jim Smith and Calvin Sweeney?
Gerry Dulac

Good question, but probably not as high as you might think. Nice players tho

Morning Gerry. Absolutely nothing against the Porter Jr pick, but do you know what was offered from various teams for the 32nd pick?
Gerry Dulac
10:30
Sorry, I do not.

I was born in 1965 and I enjoyed the 70's Steelers and Pirates.  Dan Rooney was said it was like Camelot.  Do u think we'll ever see 4 Super Bowls for the Steelers in 6 years again?   It's like a 1 in a billion type thing and hard to fathom when u think back on it.

yes it was, but that's because it was before free agency and players did not have the opportunity to move around for bigger contracts. Teams/rosters stayed the same for years.
OK kids, we're out of time. Thanx for the questions. We are off now till training camp, so we will rejoin then. Bye now
