Thanks for the chats Gerry. Always enjoy them. An old adage is that the best defense is a good offense. The Steelers have concentrated on the OL as a staple but seem to be lacking real attention to RB and WR. It seems they think they can fill those positions easily from the “scrap heap”. If not, then why did they not resign Najee. TOP to me is an important statistic. If you keep the opponents offense on the bench, hard for them to score. Thoughts?

I don't think they have not paid attention to WR and RB. They've drafted three WRs -- Pickens, Austin and Roman Wilson -- in the past couple years and used a No. 1 on Harris and found an undrafted gem in Warren. That is not the scrap heap.

Wilson will be on the roster, so long as he doesn't show he's finished, which I don't think he is. And, if that's the case, then maybe Fields moves on in free agency.

Morning. I made a bet last year that Freiermuth would break the Steelers TE record for yards in a season, which is less than 900. After injuries and performance, I looked foolish. I STILL believe he’ll do that soon, barring any major injuries. Do you feel as though he has that in him? Also, is he the Steelers priority for a new contract?

I don't think that will happen because, unlike Heath Miller, he is not a primary weapon. And I wouldn't call him a priority to get an extension because there is some concern about his injuries, but he is the most likely candidate to get one.
