OK kids, sorry for the brief delay...trying to get into Heinz Field for the first day of hitting. Here we go...!!

Gerry,  let's say the Steelers go deep into the playoffs & Ben plays well & wants to return for 2022.  Is it his decision or the front office decision?  Colbert made it sound like this is it for Ben.
Gerry Dulac
12:07
Colbert also made it sound after last season that Ben might not be around this season. I think if they make a deep playoff run and he wants to return for 2022, he will. The decision will ultimately come down from on high
The GM

Gerry, Antoine Brooks is 6'1, 220 LBS. Do you think he is better equipped to play the slot or maybe safety.
Gerry Dulac
12:08
I'm not sure he's a safety as much as I think he's better along the line of scrimmage. But that would require him to play more as a corner in coverage and that remains to be seen how well he can do that. I will tell you this, the coaches like what they see of him, especially since OTAs

Was Williams waiting until the start of camp to retire his way of sticking it to the Steelers for releasing him?
Gerry Dulac
12:09
No

as a product of IBM im worried that our coaches and front office do not put enough value in Analytics
Gerry Dulac
12:09
You worry too much

Who do you think will emerge as the Steelers best O-Linemen? Who has the highest ceiling?
Gerry Dulac
12:10
I think Kevin Dotson has the highest ceiling, but that's not to say Kendrick Green doesn't have one either. And I think Chuks Okorafor will surprise people at LT

How has Bush looked thus far?
Gerry Dulac
12:12
We will see once they put on the pads and they require him to do team stuff, but for now they are thrilled where he is in his recovery. That he has been given full clearance and not begun camp on the PUP list should tell you how far and how well he has come along.

I know they're just starting pads today so that'll give us a better idea. What's your prediction for the O line? Do you think it's gonna be a little rough start but by end of the year they'll be good?
Gerry Dulac
12:14
I don't share the same concerns that everybody else does because I think what they will be doing differently this year from a schematic and technique standpoint will make up for some personnel changes. Just because they have different people doesn't mean they are going to be terrible. That being said, it will be an adjustment period because it's basically five players at new positions trying to mesh with a quarterback and a new offense.

Why did Kendrick Green play G at Illinois?  Isn't C the more important position on the OL?  How difficult of a transition will this be for a NFL rookie to pull off (beyond the difficult enough transition that all rookies encounter)?
Gerry Dulac
12:14
Because he did. And do I need to point up that Mike Webster and Dermontti Dawson each were college guards who converted to center. I think they did OK.

Gerry there seems to be a lot of positive reviews of Pat F coming out already, what's your thoughts on him so far?
Gerry Dulac
12:15
My thoughts now are the same when they drafted him -- I like him a lot. Haven't seen him drop a pass yet. Prototypical NFL tight end.

Hi Gerry, thanks for the chat. Any predictions on the "backs on backers" drill if the much anticipated Bush/Harris clash happens? Thanks
Gerry Dulac
12:16
No predictions, just anticipation, though I will wait to see if they use Bush to do that today. I'm guessing not but we will see.

Hi Gerry -  Have any of the RBs that wear numbers different than 22 stood out in any way so far?  Does McFarland look same weight as last year?
Gerry Dulac
12:16
Yes, Kalen Ballage looks good to me. Maybe the quickest feet of all the backs. Could be a nice sleeper.

Gerry, when did hitting it over the pond, into the rough and rolling it up on to the green become "he cleared the penalty area, landed in the first cut and just edged it onto the putting surface"? Please make it stop....
Gerry Dulac
12:17
Bingo!!

Hi Gerry.  Need a laugh?  One of the national "know-it-all sports guys" wrote, today, that A. Rodgers would be a candidate to replace BB in 2022.  How did I do?

What’s the early word / first impressions on Trai Turner? Given his injury history, does he look in good shape and ready to return to his earlier performance level?
Gerry Dulac
12:17
I need to see him play. His resume is impressive but he was sitting out there for a reason
Mikey
12:18
Hi Gerry, I know its only been a short time, but have you noticed during practice whether or not Big Ben is taking more snapunder-center rather than being in the shotgun? I'm just curious as to whether the new offensive approach has shown any early on change. Thanks.
Gerry Dulac
12:18
Yes he is. Even he has acknowledged there are more run formations in the offense than before

Good afternoon! Just a bit of a throwback question here but where would you rank Greg Lloyd’s tenure with the Steelers? He seemed to be the total package and I have him 3rd behind Lambert and Ham. Do you have any cool football stories to tell about him that maybe people aren’t aware of?
Gerry Dulac
12:19
I think your calculations are off a bit. Lloyd was a very good player and a motivating force but I would put him behind James Harrison, James Farrior and maybe a few others, too.

12:20
Gerry, does it look like Devin Bush is fully healed from his injury and is eager to play?  Are their any repercussions from his posted internet fiasco?
Gerry Dulac
12:21
I think they are more eager to see how he responds from ACL surgery than any ramifications from his internet actions. And the prognosis from the former is much better than the latter.
Justin
12:21
Gerry, good day sir!  Do you miss the outlandish training camp entrances by the players?  Either way, what is the most memorable one to you?
Gerry Dulac
12:22
I'll be honest, I don't keep any memorable player entrances, but my old radio partner's arrival were classic. Same w James Harrison

Hey Gerry!  How's that GEE-NORMOUS punting Yellow Jacket from Georgia Tech looking in the SW PA sunshine so far?  BTW...me and the family rode the Steel Curtain last week at Kennywood...BEST COASTER EVER!  You ridden it yet?
Gerry Dulac
12:23
I have not been on the Steel Curtain, just as I have not focused my attention in camp yet on the new punter.
Scuba Steve

Why all the public doom and gloom for the new O Line. AV could never run block. Matt Feiler was not a left guard. Pouncey forgot how to snap years ago (for a team that loves to pass out of the shotgun) and DD's career was over at the start of last year. Is it me...or are things will the O-Line not as bad as people say they are?
