OK kids, we had to change up the days this week, so it's me today, not Ray. He will chat tomorrow in my usual spot.
9:46
We're going to get started in just a few minutes because, well, it's the regular season now and we mean business.
9:47
OK, let's get started.....Go!!

If Broderick Jones can’t hold back edge rushers by mid-season, is Fauanu an option to be switched over to LT?
Gerry Dulac
9:47
I guess that's always a possibility, but I'm not expecting that.
Ken Ward

Any predictions on the Steelers/Jets game this week Gerry?
Gerry Dulac
9:48
Yes, but not yet. Soon

The one ability that Justin Fields has over Aaron Rodgers is his ability to scramble and make the first down with his legs. I think the Jets are going to be a tough match against the Steelers because of this. Do you think there are 2nd thoughts inside the organization about letting Fields walk?
Gerry Dulac
9:49
I think the only second thoughts will come from the Jets when they realize they paid Justin Fields $40 million over two years

A little surprised to see the Steelers give Warren two more years, right?  Hard to figure why, given they add ready drafted his replacement. Especially hard to figure why so much money.
Gerry Dulac
9:51
I was a little surprised for sure. It's not a question if Warren deserves the money -- I'm never going to judge that about anyone -- but in today's NFL climate RBs are not usually given a new deal before the old one expires, especially a guy who has never been a starting RB. But, good for Warren, he's a good dude and an all-business player

Hi Gerry, just think....one week from today the chat will be filled with 'we are going all the way!' or "Tomlin should be fired, we are terrible". there will be no in between.
Gerry Dulac
9:51
Haha...I can't wait

Hello Gerry! Thanks as always for the chats. Love your work and insights. Here is hoping for a very successful season. Wasn’t initially on the AR bandwagon but hey, THE STEELERS ARE THE STEELERS!!! Predictions for Sunday? I say Steelers 31 jets 17…. PAY THE MAN!!!
Gerry Dulac
9:52
That's not a bad pick, but I think it will be a little more low-scoring, given it's the first game and it's on the road.

Gerry, You were asked in an earlier chat whether Warren would be wearing black & gold in 2026.  You said no.  So, does this signing change your prediction?  (I'll refrain from pointing out that you also predicted Johnston would win the punting competition.)
Gerry Dulac
9:53
Of course it changes my prediction. I now predict he will be on the roster in 2026. By the way, predictions and knowing are two different things, in case you were unaware. For example, I can predict this will be your last question. But I don't know that

Gerry, I am watching the Cowboy doc on Netflix and was so caught up in the highlights from the Cowboy/49'er playoff game in 1992.  It looked so different from the game played today.  Gritty, every inch a physical, violent battle. It was exciting.  Do you think the game as we watch it now, in an effort to make it safer, the league has lost some of what made it great?
Gerry Dulac
9:54
Absolutely
Greenwood

The D and coaches should know Fields pretty well by now. And theoretically the secondary should be better against the pass. Do you think they'll put a spy on Fields?
Gerry Dulac
9:54
They might if he starts to hurt them with his legs

Were you surprised at the Warren extension? He really hasn’t done anything yet that would deserve that kind of money in my opinion.
Gerry Dulac
9:55
I was.

Hi Gerry: Thanks for the chats. There may be 5 teams that need a QB likely to finish with a worse record than the Steelers. The Browns, Saints, Colts, Giants, Jets, even Raiders? How can the Steelers possibly jump them in the next draft with extra 3-4-5 round picks??
Gerry Dulac
9:55
Stay tuned and we'll find out. I will point up that Ben R lasted until the 11th pick

Have you heard from Cam or Boz representatives as far as their desire to get their contracts restructured? Will the Steelers throw them a bone or is that conversation over for the year?
Gerry Dulac
9:57
I think Cam's situation is different from Boswell. And I think it's up to Cam right now how he wants to proceed.

9:57
good morning Gerry, what, if any, is the relationship between Rodgers and Cam? I
Gerry Dulac
9:58
I can't pretend to know that, but, far as I can imagine and sense, it's perfectly fine.

With Harmon injured, does Black get the opportunity to start this weekend or do we go with a veteran, but limited, replacement?
Gerry Dulac
9:59
Black will fill a lot of Harmon's roles, but so will Daniel Ekuale and even Loudermilk. Veterans

There’s been talk about Aaron Rodgers now hinting that he may consider coming back next season. If that truly does become the case, do you see him going to another team for one final season? Or would he stay with the Steelers? Finally, if he does come back, would it be for a salary similar to what he’s receiving this season or do you think he would go for a full boat salary, comparable to other starting quarterbacks?
Gerry Dulac
10:00
I think Rodgers is one and done with the Steelers. That is the intention right now.

What are the favorite restaurants you and Ray like to hit up in New York, New Jersey? Thanks for the chats.
Gerry Dulac
10:01
I'm going to find out this weekend. There's an Italian restaurant somewhere close by in NJ that has come highly recommended by a very popular national radio/TV guy. He's even getting me a reserved table

Hi Gerry,  How big of a meltdown will we fans have if the Steelers lose to the Jets?
Gerry Dulac
10:02
Haha...what do you think? Conversely, what if they win 30-13? Super Bowl? Fans, I love 'em

Does Omar Kahn have his eyes and ears open to see who might replace Tomlin (after his next 5 contract extensions)?
