What combination of offensive and defensive rankings will the Steelers need to succeed in the playoffs? 5th ranked defense and 9th ranked offense makes for a combined 14. I'm thinking  they can achieve that type of total ranking. Hope it's an enjoyable entertaining season!

Gerry - it’s obvious you don’t like these chats. You consistently provide a lot of snark and limited answer detail (or even answers that have nothing to do with the question), esp compared to your colleagues. Totally get it but then why do you do the chat at all?

What gave you that idea? I do them every week, usually go well beyond the 30-minute limit and. more important, try to give the questioner an answer that reflects the level of the question. Did that answer the question or did I provide an answer that has nothing to do with your question? And my colleagues do a chat???

Were you surprised about the Warren extension?  It’s good to keep him around but is it good value? I figured they would transition to Johnson so does this reflect lack of confidence in Johnson?

Kaboly says the steelers are incredibly high on Roman Wilson.  Do you get the same feeling from the coaches? Or is this a case where they have to be high on him because they have nobody else?

Biggest weakness could be the depth at WR, not to mention the running game has a long way to go to make up for Harris' production. Under-rated -- the depth at LB

Why all the love some fans have of Justin Field? Yeah, he can make first downs with his legs, but he makes too few with his arm. Running quarterbacks in the NFL are effective at winning if they hit on their passes like Mahomes or Lamar Jackson (who didn’t, early on.) Keeping Fields  (painfully) reined in was the only (and ugly) way to succeed with him, and was never going to win consistently against strong opposition.

I was a little surprised because you're effectively paying a guy to be a rotational back or even a backup if K Johnson becomes what they think. But, good for Warren.

I don't think they're a Super Bowl team, but I think they're better than last year and have a decent chance to win the division and a playoff game.

Watching Arch Manning play this weekend has me wondering why he is considered one of the top QB picks in next year’s NFL draft. Almost all of his throws were sidearm and that certainly won’t cut it in the NFL.

We all lived through the Lev Bell situation, but Cam being under contract and all, if he sits out week 1 and is a healthy scratch, the precedent he would set would be mind blowing.  I think larger than what Bell did being that Lev wasn't under contract at that time.

Unimpressed with Manning, but it was one game. Drew Allar was very good, but it was Nevada. I'll be convinced when I see it against Ohio State, Oregon or Michigan
