OK kids, I see questions are already lining up like the new Popeye's in Robinson. We will get going in about 10-15 min....
10:50
Ok  let's get started.....Go!!

Finally the Steelers really tried to run the football - N.Harris had (13) runs on 1st down & more importantly (10) runs on 2nd down.  Will they continue this formula?
Gerry Dulac
10:52
Well, I'm more impressed you took the time to count first- and second-down rush attempts. The same formula is never repeated game after game because a lot depends on the opponent and the game plan. But, to your questions, they need to continue to rely on the run game, especially in games in which they are leading.

Is the Steeler TE ever a primary option, or seemingly always a last resort?   And can Muth run anything more than 8 yard routes?   I think he can be a weapon, now.
Gerry Dulac
10:53
Of course he is and of course he can. We've seen Ebron run down the seams a lot last year, not as much this year

Gerry, one media type after Sunday's game called Ben's arm "gimpy" and another said  " he has to wind up and put his whole body into the deep throw instead of flicking it 70 yards like he used to"  The Bus says Ben " can still spin it like the best of them". Who's right?
Gerry Dulac
10:55
Don't know who the media type is but I suggest you listen to -- or at least reference -- someone who knows what they're talking about. Ben could never flick it 70 yards, to use your words. Nobody can flick it 70 yards. And the Bus is right.

Who gets released once McFarland is added to the roster?  Neither Snell or Ballage have been impressive!
Gerry Dulac
10:56
Not sure either, but my guess would be Ballage. If the hole isn't there, he isn't finding one

Hi Gerry:  Thanks for the chats.  I remain a BR supporter, but the one thing he appears to have lost was one of his signature throws.  A back-shoulder throw to the outside.  Hines Ward and AB each must have caught 100 of those.  JuJu caught many as well.  I never see it anymore.  Has he lost the arm strength to throw it?
Gerry Dulac
10:57
No, back shoulder throws aren't a result of arm strength, they're more a result of accuracy and timing/rapport with your receivers.

What does your Crystal Ball say about Tuitt’s availability this year?  This would be a major step forward.
Gerry Dulac
10:59
It won't be anytime soon. His knee injury is something that will take some time to get well enough to be able to play. They miss him, no question
REID

Gerry, in 2008 when Ben was sacked 9 times in a game by the Eagles was he immobile? Or was it a function of an inexperienced O line?
Gerry Dulac
10:59
I think you know the answer to that.
Where's My Clark Bar?
10:59
Hi Gerry, I like Green but do you feel he will stick as our long-term center, or do you think he may be better suited to be a future guard?
Gerry Dulac
11:00
I don't know the answer to that, but if people think he is too small to play center then he's REALLY too small to play guard. I think he will stay put and they will draft a guard high this year
REID
11:00
Gerry, I like how Coach Cowher supported freeing Ben to have more control on the offense. Do you see this happening as new offense gels and O line gets more experience?
Gerry Dulac
11:02
I think you will see BR and Matt Canada coming to some kind of common ground and developing a better understanding of what works and how it works. That's what happened with Ben and Todd Haley.

In your opinion, how good is the Steelers defense on a scale of 1-10?
Gerry Dulac
11:03
Well, it's certainly not near a 10, not without Tuitt and Alualu, not with Bush being less than100 percent.
Art from NC

Hi Gerry- I am beginning to believe that Devin Bush is trending as the next Kendrell Bell- great talent but can't stay on the field due to being injured all the time. Is the knee fully recovered, and does he play this week or sit out hoping with the bye week he can fully heal ?
Gerry Dulac
11:04
It's probably a good idea if he doesn't play this week and then gets the bye week for an extra week to heal. I think that's what you will see happen. I get the Kendrell Bell comparison, but different types of players.

Is the Steelers Defense overrated right now due to injuries - I was happy they kept Denver to FGs early, but the late TDs & how easy the Broncos moved the ball on the final drive is concerning!
Gerry Dulac
11:07
Well, overrated implies they are or were highly rated, but, yes, injuries, have lessened the expectations. No Tuitt and Alualu is a big factor. Watt had not been 100 percent for 2 1/2 games. Bush is not 100 percent. and Alex Highsmith has been hurt and not pressuring the QB like they had hoped.
REID
11:07
Gerry, do you see more Freiermuth and Ebron sitting in the middle field short routes to make up for JuJu absence?
Gerry Dulac
11:08
Ben indicated today that JuJu's sometimes-role as a slot receiver will be made up by RBs and TEs. Ebron would be the most likely candidate
REID
11:08
Gerry, a few years back I recall a story / video you did on toughest or best par 4s around area public courses. Any plans to do this again?
Gerry Dulac
11:10
I did and I would like to do it again next spring/summer. I will note that video won some type of honorable-mention award for a web video series
Gregg from Shaler

Hi Gerry, do you think BB and Matt Canada are working to involve Freiermuth more and it's just a question of him earning their confidence and progressing? I feel like both he and Gentry could offer nice options in the middle of the field. Thank you
Gerry Dulac
11:11
Ben has a lot of confidence in Freiermuth and I believe Canada does, too. BR said today he would like to involve him more, and without JuJu that could happen. I think you're seeing Gentry playing more and more. And I think that's a good thing

11:11
Hi Gerry, Popeyes or KFC?
Gerry Dulac
11:11
I haven't had Popeye's yet. Darn line is ridiculous
ev
11:11
Hi Gerry, It's a good thing the Steelers kept James Washington and not trade him.  Depth is always critical.
Gerry Dulac
11:12
They weren't going to trade him. Not unless the Cowboys offered Dak Prescott straight up
Ryan
11:12
Do you think Juju's injury opens the door more so for Muth now than it does for other WR's? Juju has been our money guy on 3rd down and Muth has been right there behind him.
Gerry Dulac
11:12
It could. But it opens possibilities for several guys, especially James Washington. But Freiermuth could become a bigger target
Jason
11:13
Do you think the Steelers are still in this thing?
Gerry Dulac
11:13
It's only 5 games in. Of course they are.
