OK, let's get our chat started....Go!!

So are we to believe someone could ask the Steelers to trade MB without Bryant giving that person his approval?
Gerry Dulac

It is not out of the realm of possibility for an agent to contact a team representative -- whether the negotiator or GM -- and plant the seed his/her client wants to be traded. It is very much within the realm of possibility for an agent, considering all the circumstances surrounding this particular client, to be stupid enough to do so.

Morning Gerry. Obviously a solid win for the team Sunday, but Levy Bell….AKA Huge diva (When NFL allows certain celebrations)
This guy does an illegal one and costs the team a 15 yard penalty. At what point (if ever) will Coach Tomlin discipline a player for
putting their own stupid antics above the good of the team.
Gerry Dulac
11:01
I agree, but I guess it won't stop until it REALLY costs the Steelers an important game. It's ridiculous

If you always run up the gut on short yardage situations, wouldnt you open up the deep passes on the outside?  Why the stubbornness with going long on those short situations?
Gerry Dulac
11:02
I think Ben Roethlisberger has displayed a penchant for throwing deep in those situations over the years, more so than most teams would, I dare to say

Ben might have the most talented supporting cast on offense in his entire career this season- Why is he continuing to struggle (over throws, INTs, holding the ball too long)? Is this the best we are going to get from "7" this season? Never seen him have this long of a stretch with sub-par performances.
Gerry Dulac
11:03
His accuracy, especially on mid- to deep passes, has not been sharp, that's for sure.
11:04
I think Vince Williams will play, same with Ramon Foster. I think Gilbert, after aggravating an injury that caused him to miss two games, will miss at least that many this time. Cam Sutton has a hamstring injury. Eight weeks is plenty of time for that to heal.

Hi Gerry!  Any concern with Vince Williams playing this week?  How about Gilbert (sounds like they may rest him another week) and Foster?  Lastly, Cam Sutton is eligible to return and play week 8 correct?  Any news on how he's progressing/if he'll be ready to contribute?  Thanks for your input!

I think Vince Williams and Foster will play this week. And Gilbert, after aggravating an injury that kept him out two games, will miss at least that many this time. Cam Sutton had a hamstring injury. Eight weeks is plenty of time for that to heal

Help me here please.
Who does coach Tomlin rely on for challenging penalties? Is he listening to his players, or making the call on his own?
If myself (Not PRO coach) can see in ONE replay the call is not going to get reversed, why can’t Tomlin.
Gerry Dulac
11:08
He relies on his coaches upstairs. And plays, not penalties.

Seemed like Hargrave was in the game a lot more than usual this past week and that most likely contributed to shutting down the run...do you think we'll see more of that depending on the running game/tendencies of the given opponent or every week regardless of opponent.  I think he's certainly a game changer in that middle front especially with Hayward and Tuitt on either side...best D-Line in the league???
Gerry Dulac
11:10
He actually played more the previous week (61 percent of the snaps) against Jax than he did in KC (39 percent). The reason is because KC has more passing weapons, more big-play people, than the Jaguars, who are more run-oriented....and proved it

I read that the Steelers play more zone than any defense in the league. What happened to their plan to play more man defense this year? Or was this never a real plan?
Gerry Dulac
11:10
Who said that? They are still primarily a zone team, but it is their desire to incorporate more man coverage

Gerry, great win in Arrowhead this weekend. All the talk natiionally seems to be on the "what's wrong with Steelers offense" and they are really overlooking how good this defense has been. What's your thoughts on the direction the defense is headed? Future looks bright.
Gerry Dulac
11:12
It does when they play like that. It looked suspect when they couldn't stop the run against Bears and Jaguars. But I agree -- they have a lot of young talent capable of making this a very good defense.
Taz
11:12
Hi Gerry.  D is playing great; I expected more from O.  What's holding the Steelers back?  Ben missing reads or WRs not getting open?
Gerry Dulac
11:12
Taz, a little of both. Not having Martavis Bryant up to speed yet another big reason. Give it a little more time
Mike
11:12
Why do other punters consistently pin us inside the five yard line and our punter clunks them into the endzone?
Gerry Dulac
11:13
Haha...not always Mike. I'm more concerned that he chunks too many with a big field, not a short one.
Brian
11:13
Butting into other people's personal lives isn't my cup-o-tea, but Martavis needs a new girlfriend and possibly a new agent.  As in right now. Your thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
11:13
I'll tell him

overall, they had a varied mix of formations that seemed to minimize KC. Good job, Haley. But a team with that much talent has to score more TDs.  The audible not working or not being called by Ben?
Gerry Dulac
11:15
They do when they get that many chances and have that kind of production between the 1s.
Taz
11:15
Hi Gerry.  On offense, only Juju is really "new," but with extenuating circumstances affecting Bell (unsigned tender) and Bryant (yr long suspension conclusion), did Haley try to make things too complex too fast?
Gerry Dulac
11:15
No.
GSK
11:15
The Steelers O did not put up many points but was impressive especially when backed up all game. Hard to put together 90+ yard drives.
Gerry Dulac
11:15
Yes. They were terrific between the 1s
Sheila
11:16
Haden seems to be going unnoticed which is a good thing. Do they bring him back next year win those large cap numbers?
Gerry Dulac
11:16
As long as he keeps going unnoticed. That's a good thing for a cornerback
Hank
11:16
Any word on a fine for Mitchell's hit on Smith?
Gerry Dulac
11:16
No, why? You paying it?
Adam
11:16
What position is the team's greatest weakness right now?
Gerry Dulac
11:17
What do you think it is? I say punter
Rick
11:18
Gerry,  Eli see more action this week?  Thanks.
Gerry Dulac
11:18
Based on what I've seen, I hope not. 13 snaps, no targets, in KC.
