I can't believe all the people who want Trubisky back at QB1, because he looked better while playing with nothing to lose and was willing to take chances.  It wouldn't continue.  Your thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
10:20
Those are not mine. I'm not saying he should go back as a starter based on 1 1/2 quarters, but that stuff about playing with nothing to lose is nonsense. He did have something to lose -- THE GAME!!

Which player has been the best surprise so far this year?
Gerry Dulac
10:21
DeMarvin Leal, and now he's on IR
Tom
10:21
Say Vegas fires McDaniels as a head coach, would you bring him in here as your OC?
Gerry Dulac
10:21
Never
Tom
10:21
If Najee can't run the ball, why aren't they at least using him in the passing game or on screens?
Gerry Dulac
10:22
When is the last time you saw a good screen game in Pittsburgh? Aside from Schenley Park??
Tom
10:22
The Steelers O Line is great, but neither are many if any in the NFL. Numerous big name teams are stuggling because of Oline play. The NFL loves offense so what do you think the solution is? Do you think holding may start to get called less?
Gerry Dulac
10:24
Tom, I know you left out a word in that opening declaration, but you are correct about O-lines across the league. People complain about the Steelers depth on the Oline. Heck, most teams have trouble finding starters. Calling fewer holding penalties would only create a bigger mess.
Jim
10:24
What do you think would be fair compensation for Rudolph, 5th, 6th?
Gerry Dulac
10:24
Probably. No more

10:24
Which injured players will return after the bye?
Gerry Dulac
10:24
TJ Watt for sure.

Lots of trade talks (claypool, Mason) going around...  any truth behind it?

Hi Gerry:  Thanks for the Chats:   After all these years why is Tomlin so bad, really bad, at late game clock management?  Getting players on and off, lining up quickly, taking the quick spike to save clock, letting the clock run down with a running play, calling multiple plays with time out, getting off a play just before the 2 minute time out……….it appears other teams do it so much better.
Gerry Dulac
10:26
Their handling at the end of the first half against TB was awful. But I'd be willing to bet fans in other cities complain about their coach and clock management. The next time you hear someone say "Our head coach is really good at clock management," let me know.

This team is not a Super Bowl contending team. Keep playing Pickett if healthy. Trade who you can for draft picks. Collect good draft capital for next season. Why is there any debate about playing Trubisky?
Gerry Dulac
10:27
Because Tomlin's only objective is to win. This isn't a college program.
It’s not all on Tomlin
10:27
Gerry- the struggle is real on O, D, ST. Colbert assembled a below average roster for Tomlin and Co. At what point can we place blame on Colbert for the mess he made?
Gerry Dulac
10:27
When things go bad, lots of people are to blame.

Gerry, Have we become so numb to Mike Tomlin's clock management blunders that we don't even ask or talk about them anymore? He gift wrapped 3 points for Tampa at the end of the half in a tight defensive game. Those points would have loomed large had they converted the two pointer or got the ball back at the end of the game.

Same Tomlin.... winning games that we shouldn't & losing games that we shouldn't, yes?
Gerry Dulac
10:28
An amazing pattern

Hi Gerry....random thought: If the Dwayne Haskins  tragedy hadn't occurred, would the Steelers have drafted Pickett #1? Tomlin seemed pretty high on the guy and they had just re-signed him.
Gerry Dulac
10:30
I think they would have. They were already leaning in that direction when that happened.
uh huh
10:30
Pickett the college QB gets another concussion by the grown men NFL, Trubisky goes back to being his no-good, cut twice self and the HOFer backup for 4 years Mason gets the helmet to try and save Tomlin from himself. Tomlins not only living in his fears but, he's creating them for his team.
Gerry Dulac
10:30
Wow, you just depressed everyone on this chat.
Jim

Warren didn't look any better than Najee in the run game, is the OL, coaching or OC responsible for no holes to run through? Other teams seem to be able to open up holes at least 50% of the time, seems like 0% with our offense.
Gerry Dulac
10:31
I thought Najee looked pretty good, actually, against TB. Warren, not so good. First time this year he looked like an undrafted rookie.
Jim
10:31
How can other teams consistently have receivers wide open down the field and we always have someone draped over ours. Is it because we play a lot of zone?
Gerry Dulac
10:32
That's part of it. And the other part is maybe Steelers receivers aren't getting open enough like they claim.

Hi Gerry, how heated was the Mitch DJ affair and did it contribute to Mitch being pulled?
Gerry Dulac
10:33
I read that it was heated and might have had something to do with it

Hello . Thank you as always for the chat . Tomlin made a comment last week that JW workload is going to increase . But last week he only got 2 carries . And Najee ran , I believe 15 times , for 42 yards . I don’t understand that why not give other RB more chance, specially if Najee is not producing much ? Thank you very much .
Gerry Dulac

I wondered the same thing!!

Morning Gerry, what do you think of the QB controversy talk? Trubisky played below expectations so the Kenny Pickett era HAS BEGUN. Shouldn’t that mean there’s no going back unless he gets hurt or is consistently playing terribly? This isn’t a battle between 2 veteran QBs and we’re trying to find the hot hand (2 dogs for one bone). We’re trying to develop #8 into a quality starter. That ain’t gonna happen if Tomlin is always looking for a spark!

You're using way too many Tomlin expressions. And, yes, that's what will happen -- if Pickett struggles or gets hurt, they're going back to Trubisky. But Pickett is the guy going forward, no matter what
