I'm not a doctor or PT to even begin to quantify. Sorry

Any updates on the many injured...Watt, Nelson, Samuels, Barron, Haden?
Gerry Dulac
11:25
We should know a little more today at practice. Tomorrow is a better barometer because of the extra day of practice this week.

Is JuJu back to normal and if so, how many targets would you expect for him this week?
Gerry Dulac
11:27
I think you will see them try to get the WRs more engaged this week. Of JuJu's past 14 catches, 12 have been for 67 yards.

I hope Steelers are scanning all the possibilities on LB help--Skipper on waivers, if he gets to them, Chickillo should be gone, overrated anyway, #44 glorified ST player, 98 1-dimensional (vs Run), Barron was a major mistake, has shown nothing, DuPree overpriced & has not earned his keep since being drafted--Lots of hungry kids last 2-3 years at camp & Steelers continue to cut them, & keep tooooo many below the line LBS-What's ur thought?
Gerry Dulac
11:28
I can tell you it's not all those.

Does it really matter in Mason goes deep?  Like at what the Pats did to the Jets defense.  Positive yardage and move the chains.  Spread the balls and wear them out while the defense stays fresh.  I’m all for a game manager if we can win.  Thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
11:31
No, it really doesn't. Going back to the middle of the second quarter in the game he was injured against the Ravens, Rudolph was 33 of 37 for 318 yards, 3 TDs and no interceptions in his past six quarters. That's a 129 passer rating. That's not exactly a horizontal offense. So what if he throws it 6 yards and the receiver runs 9 yards or if he throws it 15 yards to a spot. If a defense starts overplaying the short stuff, he will throw it longer. Give him time.

Hi, Gerry.  What do you think are the reasons for the unusually high number of player trades this season?
Gerry Dulac
11:33
I'm not sure. The NFL is starting to look like the NHL, and that includes the Steelers. I think it shows that teams are starting to have less faith in the draft and an expanded salary cap gives them more flexibility to bring in proven players.

I know Roger Goodell made some public remarks at the owners meeting, but does it seem to you like he has maintained a much lower profile in 2019?
Gerry Dulac
11:33
Maybe that's because there are fewer major issues/problems to address.

Do the Steelers completely lose their comp pick if they keep Moncrief, or does it just go from a 3rd to a 4th?  If it's the former, then cut him now to eliminate the risk of him getting injured and being stuck with his salary on the books all year.
Gerry Dulac
11:35
They don't necessarily lose a comp pick but it would definitely be a lot lower if they keep him. And it is not guaranteed they would get a 3rd pick, just generally assumed because the big FA they lost was Lev Bell

What should be the plan to buffer the loss of Tuitt? Will this require a scheme change?
Gerry Dulac
11:36
The scheme change should be to cut back on the rotation system they use for DL. They don't have the depth or talent to rotate their linemen. All you need to know is Dan McCullers will now be the first lineman off the bench.

The next few games will be momentum builders, for sure. Can this be a 9-7 team?
Gerry Dulac
11:36
Like you said, the next three games will determine that.

Do you think that Frank Reich is a better coach than Mike Tomlin? This is for all the people that say "Who would you hire if you fired Tomlin" like there is no possible way at all to improve on 3 playoff wins in 10 years ..... while having Big Ben as your quarterback plus Brown and Bell.
Gerry Dulac
11:37
You never know where you will find a good coach. The Steelers are living proof. Do you think anyone knew anything about the type of head coach Chuck Noll, Bill Cowher or even Tomlin would be??
Doug from Raleigh
11:37
Your gut feeling, or better if you have learned something, on whether the Steelers will dump Moncrief to recoup the draft choice?
Gerry Dulac
11:38
I think a lot will depend on how Moncrief performs the next three games and/or how much they use him.

Mason Rudolph is listed as 6'5" 235 lbs. Big Ben has ALWAYS been listed at the EXACT  same 6'5" 240 lbs. that he was in his rookie year. Does this pass your eye test? Big Ben would appear to be at least 50 pounds heavier than Rudolph. What gives? Trying not to hurt Big Ben's feelings?
Gerry Dulac
11:40
Despite what people think, Ben is not as big as people think. Yes, he is big, but his weight is down from his younger days and has been in very good shape the last 2-3 years. He looks bigger when he plays because of the rib protector he wears. As for the eye test, no, Rudolph is not the same size as Ben. Not as tall.
11:41
OK kids, that's the all time we have this week. Let's do it again next week.
