Did you see George Pickens TD catch on Monday night? The Steelers put up with Antonio Brown for years. DK Metcalf attacked a fan and got suspended, drops balls and get personal foul penalties - no problem! So what's the big deal if George Pickens runs late? Let's sign him back! Agree?

Other than QB, what will be the Steelers 2027 draft priorities? Do they keep Ramsey for 2027, restructure his contract, or release him?

I'm not sure just yet what they will do with Ramsey, but I don't think it will be giving him a big new contract. That being said, he's such a big part of that defense.

Good morning. Lots of trade rumors circulating around the NFL with the deadline looming. The Steelers need help in the defensive backfield and at wide receiver. Should they and will they pull the trigger and make a move to shore up the team for a push to not only make the playoffs, but make a run in the postseason??

I don't expect that. Unless there is a significant injury. They are getting their 3 WRs back and the secondary isn't as bad as people seem to think. It's right up there with all the Patrick Queen naysayers.

Good morning Gerry! This is partially sarcasm and partially not. Seems like the Steelers kickoff coverage is responsible for at least 3 points for the opposing team almost every game with setting the defense up with terrible field position. Should the Steelers seriously consider kicking it out of the end zone more often and letting the opposing team start at the 35 and avoid any sort of longer return?

What is with the fade balls to DK? It doesn’t work. I understand that they see he’s matched 1 on 1, but he doesn’t win that battle 8 times out of 10. To me it’s just a waste of a play at this point. Seems like no matter who is calling the plays for this team, they always have the one play they try to force. I.e. the Canada jet sweep, or the Najee Harris pitch play.

Are we finally seeing the Andy Weidl affect start to show? I for one was skeptic with some of the trenches picks. Jones was a miss and it took some time for some of these guys to develop.  But seems like they have (so far) hit on some guys on both sides of the ball. Frazier, IMax, McCormick, Troy, Black, even Rubio getting some love.

The key to your comment about the Weidl effect was "so far," and that's because everybody is quick to criticize (and now applaud) their play. I have said all along it is a good, young offensive line. Just let it, and everything else, take time.

Gerry, thanks for the chats, living in Jacksonville, Florida it’s nice to have an outlet like this to stay up to speed on the Steelers.. I would love to see a skit, Brian Thomas Jr, but do we really think Jacksonville would send him to an AFC contender, especially one whom they will be playing soon? Who else would be a good fit that is not more of what they already have?

The Steelers had interest in Brian Thomas two years ago and were close to a trade before he was injured. But I don't think any of that is happening now. They have a lot of money invested in WRs right now. Don't think they're going to add any more

I'm  not saying that he's not doing what I'm about to ask, but If you're Omar Kahn, and you have your choice of deals to get done before the deadline, who are you targeting, who's the one that can't get away, and do you go all in to do exactly what needs to be done to get this team across the finish line?

It could be a little of both. I have no problem with Asante Samuel Jr, Jamel Dean or Daylen Everette. Maybe it's the scheme, the soft zone they play. Teams can complete that 6-8 yards flat pass all day if they want

Hi Gerry, with trade season upon us, lets say the Steelers pick up someone that has an existing contract with X amount of dollar left on it.  Do the teams simply redo the player contract under their team name, and match the remaining terms dollar for dollar for what is left?  Or do they perhaps give a little bump in pay for example if a player was traded to them from say the Dolphins, where Florida has no state income tax?  Thanks

Depends if they want to keep the player for more than one year, which, more often than not, this time of year it's just a one-year rental

The defense front 7 pretty much the same as years past. What specifically is different to allow such a string of dominant run defense? Are they just inviting the short passes with those soft zones that teams just do that instead?
