OK, kids, let's get our chat started. Go...!!

I thinking the weather is big, I'm getting the vibe that fournette slowed down during the end of the season AND doesn't enjoy the cold... what say you?
Gerry Dulac
10:58
I don't know if he doesn't like the cold or what, but there's no question he has not been a big factor the past six games. He has averaged just 3.1 yards per attempt (114 c, 357 yds.) and doesn't have a run longer than 24 yards in that time. And remember, this is a guy who averaged under 4 yards per carry during the regular season despite runs of 90 and 75 yards.

Morning Gerry, what is your assessment of Cam Sutton's rookie progress?
Gerry Dulac
10:58
I think -- and more important, they think -- he has played well.

Hi, Gerry!  If we win, we're going to face an elite TE no matter who we play next.  Any thought on breaking the mold and putting a CB on the tight end and bumping him off the line at a steady but unpredictable pace?  It seems like a better plan than playing a LB or a zone pick up against him.  Your thoughts please?  I only get to participate in these every so often.  Thanks!
Gerry Dulac
11:00
I doubt that will happen. To me, put a LB on him at the line of scrimmage to dump him for 5 yards and then pass him off to Sean Davis. Hey, Davis didn't do a bad job on Gronk in the first meeting, until that last drive, and on one of those 27-yarders he was supposed to have help and didn't get it

Do you agree with the game plan of stacking the box to stop the run and make Bortles beat you?  Bortles is capable, but is very inconsistent.
Gerry Dulac
11:02
I agree with that plan 100 percent. By the same token, the Jaguars can't be stupid enough to use the same conservative game plan against the Steelers that they used against the Bills. I think the Jags will surprise them by throwing more on first down. They have to do that to potentially keep up with the Steelers offense
Moose
11:02
Do you think that Ben has learned over the last couple of games that he can depend on JuJu and MB more, and not try to force feed AB?  I think AB's injury may have helped everyone else's game by forcing them to step up.
Gerry Dulac
11:02
Moose, you're 2 for 2. Agreed

is there any info on Coach Munchak's interview with the Cards? also, if he should leave, is there a short list for his replacement?
Gerry Dulac
11:03
No, and no. At this point, even if he were to get a second interview, it couldn't occur until after the Steelers lose or, if they keep winning, the off week before the Super Bowl.

Gerry: with the return of AB, what do you view as the best mismatch opportunity for Steelers receivers vs the Jaguars defense?
Gerry Dulac
11:04
The tight ends. The Jaguars left the middle of the field open against the Bills. And they can't cover every one on the edge. And let me point up the Jaguars, despite their No. 1 pass defenses, allowed 12 passes of 40+ yards, just one fewer than the Steelers.

There was a time when the Steelers had a boat load of college QBs on the roster:  Randell El, Ward, Slash, etc.  if a trick play is called now who throws the pass other than Ben?
Gerry Dulac
11:05
AB, the former lefty QB
John

What's your take on Vance McDonald? He seems to be a positive contributor but I understand he has an odd contract - do you foresee him in a Steeler uniform next year?
Gerry Dulac
11:05
They would like to have him back, though his frequent injuries might be a concern
John
11:05
Other than a couple of miscommunications/mental gaffes, it seems like Artie Burns has been a positive contributor. Hearing about him running with the 2nd team in practice a few weeks back was surprising - how do you feel about his play?
Gerry Dulac
11:06
I'm with you, he has been fine. He's not a Pro Bowler because he doesn't pick the ball, but I think he is more than solid
John
11:06
Any idea what happened with Wilcox? His skill set seems like one that could be utilized without Shazier and with Mitchell's struggles
Gerry Dulac
11:06
Too many penalties
John
11:06
More snaps this week, William Gay or Cam Sutton?
Gerry Dulac
11:06
I don't think you will see a lot of dime defense (6 DBs) this week.

For a quick smile, imagine Blake Bortles vs. Case Keenum headlining the Super Bowl
Gerry Dulac

Smile? How about a cringe?

Hi Gerry, thanks for the chat. I can't help but again mention how the one Jesse James play changes our path to the Superbowl.  The Pats get a relatively easy Titans team and we get the Jags #1 defense unit.  What say you?
Gerry Dulac
11:07
Yeah, but the Jaguars are easier to defend offensively than Mariota and the Titans.

Hi Gerry, any rumblings about Shazier on the sidelines Sunday?  What an inspiration to be around his brothers at home.  Not necessarily shirtless for pregame warmups, but that wouldn’t hurt either.
Gerry Dulac
11:08
He won't be there.

11:08
Hi Gerry.  Have you heard anything about Mike's interview in Arizona?
Gerry Dulac
11:08
No, but the process is the way-too-early stages, judging from the amount of guys the Cards want to interview
Zach B
11:08
Hi Gerry- Will Bid Dupree pick up his game this year and look special like he did in the playoffs last year up until we played the patriots of course when they all looked ordinary?? We really need him and TJ to pick up their games and play like 1st rounders right??
Gerry Dulac
11:09
They certainly hope so. He has been one of the more disappointing players this year
Mark from Jersey
11:09
If the Steelers get to the Super Bowl and win. Does Ben pull a Jerome and Retire on the podium?
Gerry Dulac
11:09
No.
Zach B
11:09
Hi Gerry -How many Runs -vs- Passes do we need to have on offense in order to be balanced enough against this great defense to be successful??
Gerry Dulac
11:12
If you look at the past 7 1/2 games, this offense has been most successful when Ben is attacking with the pass, not with Bell running. They can't afford to get too far away from that against Jax.
JB
11:12
I find this an very interesting matchup. Reminds me of Miami last year. Do you see the team has an intensity about them. I feel like Ben is the guy who may have a real big game and use all his players Bell etc. I really think they could have a big game? Agree?
