There was one play (I think it was midway through the 3rd quarter) where Lama Jackson lined up in the shotgun.  He faked a hand off and then ran forward but was tackled. The official spotted the ball at what appeared to me to be a foot short of the line of scrimmage. Shouldn't that be a sack? Could you look at that and if you agree contact the steeler office about that. We might be he
Gerry Dulac

It depends on not if he was a foot short, but a foot beyond the original line of scrimmage.

Morning Gerry!  Jumping way ahead here, barring any significant injuries, how do the Steelers match up with the Chiefs?
Gerry Dulac
11:18
They can match up with anybody. They proved that the last 3 games. That's why they're 7-0.

I don’t pay attention to other teams’ punters and social media tends to exaggerate, where would you rank Jordan Berry?
Gerry Dulac
11:18
Not very high

Thanks for the coverage, Gerry.  Last Sunday we saw Highsmith on the field with TJ and Bud multiple times.  Was this a package specific to defending Lamar Jackson, or could we see it more in the coming weeks?
Gerry Dulac
11:20
Yes it was. He was part of using five LBs (three ILBs) in the nickel package. Part of it was done because nickel back Mike Hilton was out, part of it was to give the Ravens a different look because they had a bye week to study the Steelers.

More of an opinion than question:  Claypool would have been a good value even if drafted in rd 1, Highsmith is an NFL-caliber player, Dotson is going to be a solid starter who will bridge the transition from this aging O-Line to a younger one, jury is out on McFarland, but they like him.  All of this said, and I concede we are less than half the season in, this might be Colbert/Tomlin's best draft ever considering 1st rd pick is Minkah. Agree?
Gerry Dulac
11:21
Wait a minute...that was a question at the end. So far so good with their draft. I will tell you they might have taken Claypool on the first round too if they had a pick on that round.

What adjustments do you think the D can make to lessen the Ravens running success last week for the game in a few weeks besides more health & experience? Thx for the chat & insights.
Gerry Dulac
11:22
All I can tell you is they will need to change their scheme for the next Ravens game, not so much this game. The Ravens have rushed for 488 yards the past 2 games against them. Whatever the Steelers are doing, it isn't working.

Of the next 3 weeks, which is most likely to be the annual egg lay against a lousy team?
Gerry Dulac

Jacksonville.

I'm so stressed about COVID, the election, etc, the Steelers being 7-0 has been a great distraction.  No question, just thanks for your fine work.
Gerry Dulac
11:23
I hope this helps with the stress relief. thanx

Gerry -  What  DBs and LBs were on the field for the Steelers on the last offensive play for the Ravens on Sunday.  Were both Justin Layne and Marcus Allen on the field?
Gerry Dulac
11:23
Yes.

If Dupree leaves, who will take his place?  How much fall-eff will there be?

Aren't you watching? It will be 56 -- Highsmith

is this the year Tomlin critics will forever be silenced?  Not necessarily because of X’s and O’s but because we are looking at multiple years of good drafting and personnel decisions to be able to 7-0.
Gerry Dulac
11:25
The drafting and personnel decisions are not all him. A large part is Kevin Colbert and his staff. But his critics will remain, no matter what happens. Tune 'em out. They don't know what they're talking about.

Hey Gerry, I’m thinking the gameplan must first and foremost be about stopping Elliott, and then being aware of the inevitable gadget plays. Agree?
Gerry Dulac
11:25
My man, I hate to state the obvious, but that should be obvious, especially if the QB is the Pine Richland grad.

Nelson and haden seem to be settling in and locking down receivers.  Always good when you don't hear their names.  You agree?
Gerry Dulac
11:26
They settled in long before this. They are very good

Hi Gerry, any chance of a Steelers letdown this weekend?
Gerry Dulac
11:26
In the NFL, there's always a chance. But I don't see it.

will Avery Williamson become an attitude issue when he is relegated to back up duty? Barring injury to VW, or Micky Spillane, how many snaps per week does he get?
Gerry Dulac
11:27
I can't answer that because I don't know him, but I don't think so. Why would he, going from the Jets to the Steelers??

10-0 goin into Thanksgiving Night for Ravens rematch or a classic Tomlin letdown game out of next 3?

Was the three outside linebackers a specific strategy for the Ravens game or is this something we might see more often?
Gerry Dulac
11:28
Yes, game specific. But doesn't mean you might not see it again somewhere.

It’s great to be pumped about an undefeated team, but with a little less luck the Steelers could have easily lost 4 or 5 of their games. Are fans getting a little too confident about this team?
Gerry Dulac
11:29
OMG, can't you just enjoy what you're seeing?? And the reason they're not is because good teams win those games, bad teams don't. Geeziz

Hi Gerry I think JuJu’s toughness in getting extra yards was huge against Baltimore. Your thoughts on his season so far,
Gerry Dulac
11:29
Absolutely it was.
