OK kids, let's get started...

OL development, or lack there of. Fall on draft department or coaching?
Gerry Dulac
9:54
It's a very young O-line and I don't share your apparent concerns
Scrap
9:54
Keep it snarky.
Gerry Dulac
9:54
Don't worry about that!

Long time no see Gerry! Okay so that this is the NFL and any given Sunday anybody can beat anybody. But why does it feel like some weeks our team (both O and D) looks like they are the hammer and other weeks it looks like they are the nail? PQ has spoken about “effort” multiple times this season. How motivational is the great motivator Tomlin when weekly we talk about missed tackles, effort, etc?
Gerry Dulac
9:57
Sometimes Tony I think effort is an excuse for other factors, maybe scheme, play-calling, lack of talent, etc. The only place I hear players talk routinely about a lack of effort is hockey

Hi Gerry, in your article this morning you point out Roman Wilson as the Steelers most productive receiver.  Do you think he should be on the field more than Austin at this point?
Gerry Dulac
9:58
The most productive the past 3 games, I pointed up. I think he needs to be targeted more, especially if teams are forcing the ball away from Metcalf.

Continue to throw aged mud at the wall. Poor FA decisions or coaching?
Gerry Dulac
9:59
Poor approach but sometimes necessary

Morning Gerry. I don't understand we are paying all these players and not using them. I just don't think Tomlin is the right coach for us anymore. Your thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
9:59
Such as...?

Hi, Gerry. You mentioned in your chat two weeks ago that you think Art II is more frustrated and impatient than angry with Tomlin and the current state of the Steelers. Would Dan Rooney have been angry with the way things stand? Would anger be a more active emotion for Art and possibly bring about real change? I mean heck, Dan fired his own brother…
Gerry Dulac
10:01
What I said when asked if AR2 was angry at Tomlin, I said he was more frustrated  and impatient with NOT WINNING A PLAYOFF GAME, which he himself has said.

Hi Gerry, Would the Bears have been better off with Tomlin as a head coach instead of Ben Johnson?  Realistically, what could Tomlin bring in a trade with the Giants? A first round pick?  4th?  It might be good for the Steelers to get out of his crazy expensive - in terms of results achieved - contract and start fresh.
Gerry Dulac
10:02
They are 6-3. I think they are content with the choice they made. Also, I wouldn't even bother to conjecture about something that will never happen. Ever

10:02
Does Porter get extended?
Gerry Dulac
10:03
We'll see. But I'm guessing he will unless he thinks he deserves top dollar

Gerry, I was at the Chargers game, a few sections back from the Steelers sideline. What really stood out was Rodgers’ behavior—after every series he came off the field, didn’t talk to anyone, no chatting up the O-line, no sidebars with receivers or coaches, didn’t even look at a tablet to review plays. Just sat alone on the bench, and no one approached him either.
And it wasn’t just when they were losing—he was like that the entire game. Have you noticed that in other games too?
Gerry Dulac
10:04
GB, I haven't but only because I'm too busy watching what's going on on the field rather than off. But I have noticed on occasion he is by himself on the sideline, though that's usually pre-game

This team needs an infusion of youth on DL and DB. Thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
10:05
I thought they just drafted two rookie DL? I must be mistaken

Good morning Gerry, is getting traded to the Steelers now the NFL equivalent of being traded to the Pirates and baseball, a team going nowhere.
Gerry Dulac
10:07
Let's see....it's been 10 years since the Pirates made a postseason. It's been a whole 10 months for the Steelers
Jake
10:07
How would you grade Omar so far as GM?  Do you think the Steelers is a better team now as before he took over?  I would argue no.  Still mediocre with an aging over priced defense with no long term answer at QB.  Looking at another mid range draft pick so getting a top notch QB is remote unless they just get lucky with one dropping.  What say you?  Thank you.
Gerry Dulac
10:08
That's why they know they have to draft a top QB
Linebacker Lounge
10:08
How is Karl Dunbar regarded as a DL coach?
Gerry Dulac
10:09
I'll borrow a Tomlin line from the other night....."How would you?" Next"
TVC15
10:10
Yes or no? For being the 32nd overall pick in the draft JPJ is a bust who halfway through his 3rd year is still below average, still a liability. King of the North or King of the Worth(less)?
Gerry Dulac
10:10
What is this....a courtroom?
Yates
10:11
Gerry-MT’s explanation about touches for 30 makes no sense. Maybe you do not get into so many 3 and outs if 30 is getting more carries on 1st 2nd and 3rd downs and more passes thrown his way. Does he lead this sorry group of offensive weapons in YAC?
Gerry Dulac
10:11
Good point!
Josh
10:11
Hi Gerry, thanks for the chat. Dating back to the Matt Canada experience up until now, the Steelers offense has continued to rank for years in the bottom of the league in air yards per attempt. We’ve had different OC’s but same results, different QB’s, same results, different WR’s, etc. Is this how Tomlin wants the offense to be? Very short, intermediate passes?
Gerry Dulac
10:12
Josh, I think you're on to something there. They play the same way for the same reason.
RAM

Mornin’ Gerry! How long will it be before the Steelers (meaning ownership, front office and MT) realize it’s time to go back to drafting our future vs signing older players who were once rock stars but are now playing at the Palace Theater in Greensburg?
Gerry Dulac
10:13
Hahaha....love the analogy. You are correct. But that's what happens when they are desperate to win a playoff game.

Thanks for the chats, I have been giving B Jones the benefit of doubt since he is young and raw and who knows he might turn out to be a serviceable LT but from what I saw Sunday night it was his inability to stop the inside spin move that threw off A Rodgers timing. Do you think the Steelers would consider D Washington at left tackle? I love #80 as a TE but we have 2 good ones already and desperate times calls for desperate measures.
Gerry Dulac
10:14
BB, I don't think that's going to happen. Jones didn't have a great game, but he also didn't have Seumalo next to him. That makes a big difference when you have a new guy in there.
Yates

Gerry-  I have been harping in these PG chats that 42 has been playing well and has shown much better coverage in limited snaps as compared to Slay. If talent/skill level in 2025 trumps resumes, 42 should be on the field
