I'm not going to argue. He stood out the other night. I think Pierre is the defense's Mason Rudolph. Keep him around, watch him play well, then never give him a chance.

What will it take to get people to realize that 1. Tomlin has a no trade clause. And 2. Tomlin will never be traded unless Mike Tomlin walks into Art’s office and says he wants out? Outside of those 2 things. It’s not happening.
Gerry Dulac
10:16
You're 2 for 2. In baseball, that would get you $40 million annually
Steelman
10:16
Do you think that we're trying to get to many offense skill players involved in each game and that's why it's difficult to get into a rhythm?  I feel really good teams are game planning on their top two or three players.  Thx...
Gerry Dulac
10:16
Did you say "skill"??

Marquez Valdes-Scantling is only 31. There should still be some miles left in that 6' 4" 206 lbs  body right? Why is he still on the practice squad? It's not like he is behind Jerry Rice, Terrell Owens, and Randy Moss.
Gerry Dulac
10:18
Here's a better question you might want to ask: Why was he still out there? Why is this his fourth team inside of two seasons?

Good morning Gerry. I hope your day is great.  Lots of moving parts, and while I don't blame the Steelers for making a WR trade for a rental, we now have experienced 2 years of the whole "we have confidence in our WR Room failed experiment.   Isn't it time to fix the problem by drafting and or signing a true wide receiver 2
Gerry Dulac
10:20
That's why they traded for Metcalf. And why they were trying to make a trade for a quality WR.

10:20
Is Roman Wilson a bust of a 3rd round pick?
Gerry Dulac
10:20
And you have come to that conclusion because....??

Rodgers missed a lot of throws - some of them easy ones - and generally looked skittish and old. Tomlin seemed irritated with Rodgers' play after the game. Is Rodgers wearing out his welcome with the team?
Gerry Dulac
10:21
No he is not. He had a bad game. Just a couple weeks earlier in Cincinnati everybody couldn't believe two 40+ QBs couldn't play that well

Morning! Every single replay I see of the OL shows Broderick Jones being beaten. He seems to be a huge liability. Any chance he will be replaced or isn’t there anybody else that can handle that position?
Gerry Dulac
10:23
That, of course, is preposterous because Aaron Rodgers would either be sacked 23 times or carried off the field,. one or the other. I watch some of those same isolations, which, I'm presuming, you have too. And it's not that bad.

D didn't get the big TOs in LA, but I thought it help up pretty well considering the were on the field all game. Is the Ramsey/Dugger safety duo here to stay?
Gerry Dulac
10:23
It is for another week...and probably longer

Hey Gerry now I have a question about the offense. Why is it that some weeks Arthur Smith is super creative in his calls and other weeks it looks like Matt Canada is back calling plays?
Gerry Dulac
10:25
Well, because, that's the NFL. They're probably asking the same questions in Buffalo when the Bills score 28 points one week against KC and 13 the next against Miami

Gerry-  it did not seem like the OL play was much different than prior games.  Why all of a sudden would the QB have such happy feet?  Something seemed amiss all night. Even in post game presser the QB seemed to take less ownership of the bad performance than typical. What are your thoughts on happy feet and number of high throws and missing on read progressions?
Gerry Dulac
10:26
No, he moved the same way, just wasn't as successful. And no, he repeatedly said after the game he didn't play well. Don't know how many different ways he's supposed to say it.

Hi Gerry, after years of pointing out that the DL needed early round investment, the Steelers finally drafted Harmon in the 1st.  He looks like a difference maker so far.  And Benton has been trending in the right direction lately.  Do you consider the DL to be in good shape at this point?  Or are they due for more early round investment?
Gerry Dulac
10:27
I'd like to see one more. But I think I'd like to see another big-time WR first

10:27
Is  Kaleb Johnson a bust of a 3rd round pick?
Gerry Dulac
10:27
What is this, bash the third-round picks day?? Give him time.

10:28
Any positive takeaways for you from Sunday's game? Mine are: 1) we may not need all those extra draft picks to trade up for a QB in 2026, 2) Jaylen Warren's hurdle 3) James Pierre's body slam, and 4) Tomlin still has a non-losing record.
Gerry Dulac
10:28
I'm liking 2 and 3 Bill

What are your thoughts on D. Harmon? Hard to judge by just watching game on TV. From everything thing I hear, he is doing well for a rookie, keeps improving.
Gerry Dulac
10:28
Yes he is. They like Derrick Harmon.

George Pickens already has 764 yards and 6 TDs with 8 games to go. What kind of contract do you predict he lands in the off-season?
Gerry Dulac
10:29
A big one with plenty of clauses

Gerry of the lake, good morning!  Would more plays on offense result in more field goals?  I see no difference between this offense, in spite of the presence of Rodgers, Metcalf, and Samuels, and anything that Fictner or Canada fielded.
Gerry Dulac
10:34
Thanx for the translation! I assume you man Smith, not Samuels. Then they might have something. Well, I do see 19 TD passes, something no QB has managed in a season since Ben retired. Pickett had six fewer than that in two seasons. So they have that going for them.
Bill in LA
10:36
Justin Fields threw only 11 passes for only 54 yards on Sunday. Why are the Jets starting Fields and phasing him out of the offense at the same time?
Gerry Dulac
10:38
Because they don't have anyone else to play the position. And probably because someone decided it was a good idea to guarantee him $30 million of his two-year, $40 million deal. Which is why they are the Jets. Which is why, even if they had 10 No. 1 picks over the next two years, they will find a way to screw it up.

Good morning Gerry.  I for one am not pinning all my hopes on new practice squad receiver MVS being the answer to our WR problem.  It's great that he has a good relationship with AR and who knows he may have even been his best man at the wedding, but he is a 30 + year old player who was "
Gerry Dulac

That is correct. Who has been with four teams in less than two seasons. They can't all be wrong

Gerry, based on recent seasons, does the Steelers' leadership—both in the front office and on the sidelines— have the strategic ability to build a Super Bowl-caliber team?
Gerry Dulac
10:41
Well, based on recent seasons, the answer might be no. But I think they know what they're doing.
Bronco
10:42
why don't the Steelers commit to the run more? Rodgers is old and can't carry the offense. The WRs are mid. They need to ride Warren (and get Johnson involved, last year's big 10 rushing champ) behind their young, ascending OL.
