OK kids, good morning...let's get our chat started....
Stairway to seventh seed

Gerry: is it time for me to change my name to something more ambitious?
Gerry Dulac
9:55
What, you're not ambitious enough???
TXSteeler
9:55
i know the OC is close to him but why is Patterson taking any reps or touched away from Warren or Harris, who are clearly better players at this stage?
Gerry Dulac
9:57
He really isn't. He played 12 snaps against the Ravens and touched the ball twice.

Happy Wednesday Gerry! What does the Steelers need to fix so they can be competitive on January ?
Gerry Dulac
9:57
Right now...nothing

Gerry - thanks as always for your chats.  Watching Broderick Jones the past several weeks - sometimes he's outrageously good - absolutely crushing people;  most of the time he's fine and sometimes he's awful - whiffing on blocks, obvious holds and just soft plays for a man of his size, strength and athleticism.  Can they coach him up and get him to achieve his potential, or an I being overly optimistic?
Gerry Dulac
9:58
Not at all. Just being hopeful
TXSteeler
9:58
more of a statement but can everyone who said the Steelers have played a soft schedule to this point (before Balt) just stop? The Steelers are the only team in the league to beat 5 teams with winning records thus far
Gerry Dulac
9:59
Now that deserve a pat on the back!!

Hypothetical: It’s 2nd and goal at the 3 yard line Thursday night. Game is tied 3-3 in the 3rd quarter. Who is in the game as the Steelers quarterback?
Gerry Dulac
9:59
No, he's on first.
Michael
9:59
Gerry, what’s the overall perception of the media and team of Roman Wilson?
Gerry Dulac
10:00
Any perception will likely have to wait till next year. There is nothing by which to judge or perceive him right now.
Michael
10:00
Do you think it was a mistake to extend Freiermuth?
Gerry Dulac
10:00
Not at all. It's a mistake not to throw it to him more
Tom
10:00
Has Washington replaced Friermuth as the best tight end on the team?
Gerry Dulac
10:01
No. He has evolved as a nice complement to 88 in the passing game, and that's good to see
Michael
10:01
Gerry, what’s your prediction on the four upcoming games against Clev / Cincy?  3-1?  2-2?
Gerry Dulac
10:01
3-1
Michael
10:01
Gerry, who has surprised you with their play - for better or worse?  B Jones worse and Elliott better?
Gerry Dulac
10:02
DeShon Elliott has been better than advertised, a great free agent pickup
Tom
10:03
What was your favorite "what what he thinking moment?"....Pickens not getting two feet in bounds from 6 yards inside the line or Justin Fields beginning a slide 2 yards short of the 1st down marker?
Gerry Dulac
10:04
Zac Taylor going for the two-point conversion against the Ravens

Good morning, Gerry. Nick Herbig was outstanding on Sunday. FF on Henry, blowing up the 2 pt play, constantly pressuring off the edge causing Lamar to reset or relocate, knocking off the rhythm of the Raven’s offense. Highsmith is a really good one, too, but can you see a scenario down the road where Herbig replaces him on obvious passing downs? Could reduce wear and tear on both.
Gerry Dulac
10:04
I see a scenario where they possibly replace him, period. That's the finances of the NFL unfortunately

Gerry, I appreciate your chats and articles. Hope you're doing well. I was wondering what you would say is your favorite aspect (or most cherished memory) from your time of being a sportswriter? Have a great Thanksgiving! Thank you!

Thanx. That's an easy one -- questions from Bill in LA

I get Fields sliding, muscle memory is the foundation of most aspects of football and it just happens. BUT, no one talks about how good of a spot they got on that play. He easily started his slide 2-3 yards short, but the refs spotted him near the end of his slide. Did you notice that?
Gerry Dulac
10:06
I did. Actually, there were several spots in that game that I thought were suspect
Happy Gilmore

Gerry, how often do you get the chance to exchange pleasantries with Art2 around the facility? The next time you bump in to him please tell him that the vast majority of fans would  LOVE to see the Steelers return to the 1974 unis full time.  It is a significantly better look and somehow appears more menacing and intimidating.  Thanks!

Hello Gerry,
I get the feeling that with this mix of young guys and vets, dominating defense, QB who can win, that special camaraderie, and all three phases playing complimentary football that a Super Bowl is on the horizon. Are you on the SB train yet?
Gerry Dulac
10:06
No, I usually fly.

Gerry, the red zone offense has been an issue all year and as a fan watching at home it seems like the playing calling once their there is predictable. Thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
10:09
It's not predictable. There are only so many plays you can run when the field is condensed like that. That being said, there are ranked 30th in the league in red zone TDs, so it hasn't been very good.

Gerry, look forward to your chat every week, thanks.

Any chance they decide to resign Dan Moore in the offseason to a 2-3 year deal if no other team over pays?
