OK, nobody is suspending our chat, so we will start in about 20-25 minutes....

OK, here we go....

So DK Metcalf tried to pull a "Myles Garrett" by claiming to be the victim of a racial slur to justify losing control. As DK had big money and guarantees on the line, would you forgive me if I'm believing the blue haired jerk's story that he was just calling out DK's full name to mess with him?
Gerry Dulac
9:54
So, if someone yelled out your real proper name -- "Bill Kenny Pickett in LA" -- you would react like that???

If the Ravens lose on Saturday, what are the chances we'll see Will Howard start one or two of the final games, and would you like to see that?
Gerry Dulac
9:54
I don't think you will see him start, but I do think you will see him play in Baltimore.

Hello Gerry,  The owner of the Carolina Panthers received a $300k fine for throwing a drink on a fan.  DK's punishment seems over the top when compared to what the Panther's owner received.  Thoughts?
Gerry Dulac
9:56
I thought his suspension would be reduced to one game because you're not allowed to strike a fan. If the league and Lions were aware of a similar incident with this blue-haired guy and Metcalf, who didn't they do something to prevent it from occurring again? Or why didn't they at least alert the Steelers of the possibility of something happening again. Nobody said anything to the Steelers.

Gerry: DK Metcalf now officially joins the long line of WRs that have caused the Steelers problems on the field and with public relations.  My question is this.  On the same day, despite having not won a playoff game in 8 years and seeing his "historic" defense avoid an epic collapse by the narrowest of margins, Mike Tomlin had the arrogance and audacity to loudly taunt a well respected and long tenured female reporter while walking to the locker room.  He bragged that his seven shots drill won the game even though the Lions put up about 140 yards in the last 7 minutes.  Every man is responsible for his own actions, but does this type of leadership enable cultural problems?
Gerry Dulac
10:00
Epic collapse? Did you watch the Super Bowl champs blow a 21-0 lead to the Cowboys? Did you watch the Rams blow a 16-point lead in the last 5 min to the Seahawks? Did you watch the Patriots blow a 21-0 lead to the Bills?  A 12-point lead -- which they never lost -- against the league's No. 1 offense at home is hardly the stuff of an epic collapse. Please

Two carries per game? What do you think the Steelers philosophy is as regards if, when, and how to work in third round pick Kaleb Johnson to find out if he can be a top running back?
Gerry Dulac
10:01
Plenty of time for that. You don't play a guy just to evaluate him when your other 2 RBs are doing what Warren and Gainwell are doing

Gerry: it has been widely reported that the Steelers can now void Metcalf's guaranteed money.  That was looking like a real bad contract even before Sunday.  Will they do that?
Gerry Dulac
10:03
Those reports are just trying to be dramatic. It's not happening. Yes, his guaranteed $25 million is voided because of the language in a contract, which is standard procedure in just about every contract. But he will still receive his money because the Steelers aren't getting rid of him, despite what any nitwit might suggest. He will play for them in 2026 and get the money

Gerry: Tomlin's supporters are crowing right now and as a lifelong fan of the franchise I am thrilled that the Steelers are in the hunt, but if say Lamar would have been healthy all year and the Steelers had to win these last two games, what would we be saying about the overall management of a franchise whose highest paid player is out due to a freak medical mishap inside the facility and whose second highest paid player is out with a suspension?
Gerry Dulac
10:04
They won't be saying anything because it didn't happen. You can play the what-if game every year with every team. So go right ahead....

Gerry: almost as soon as the Metcalf footage aired, the media was scrambling to talk about precedents.  My first thought was Ray Rice.  Rice's actions were reprehensible and worthy of an indefinite suspension, but has Goodell now oddly set a precedent that the league offers way more protection from their players punching people to family members of a player in an Atlantic City elevator in February than to paying customers at a game?
Gerry Dulac
10:05
If that was your first thought, wow.....No comparison my friend.

Gerry what do you think about the play of Kenneth Gainwell he looked good vs Detroit Merry Christmas
Gerry Dulac

Gainwell has been outstanding. You could argue he could be the team's MVP

Gerry, happy belated Festivus! We’ve all seen Rodger’s on-field verbal and visible frustrations. Many are player-related, but after watching football for over 50 years, it’s obvious he’s had issues with play calling. There seems to be less since the Buffalo blowout. Is it possible that AR has been taking things into his own hands during this 3-game stretch? Reminds me of when Ben would take over in the 2nd half of games when the coach’s game plan stalled, or failed.
Gerry Dulac
10:23
I'm not sure what you're watching but that is not the case. He is no more controlling the offense from the line of scrimmage than he did before

Gerry good morning. I am not aware of DK's actions or attitude in Seattle, but I cannot be the only person who saw something like this happening with him (maybe not with a fan)? Nearly every game DK is either in the middle of a tussle, is starting one, and/or looks like he wants to fight the world. Were their rad flags before the trade and if there were, WHY trade for him?????????
Gerry Dulac
10:25
He had that reputation apparently, but the Steelers did not seem to think there was any problem. I cannot speak to his earlier issues because I wasn't around the guy. But he is a big physical player and defenders will try anything to get him on the ground, which can often lead to scuffles

I was at that Lions game. I'd say at least half the fans thought Lions had won as they were leaving the Field House (it ain't a stadium). It has to be the worst articulated call I've ever heard, especially to end a game. Ever seen anything like it?
Gerry Dulac
10:26
Never ever, and you're right. Not only was it the worst articulated, it was the only one I can ever recall happening. 99 times out of 100, when a penalty is called to negate a play, they never say what the play gained or what happened. They only call the penalty. Why they did that was completely stupid and ridiculous

Gerry, I've seen you say the Steelers have led the division since Week 1. Is this true? I thought the Bengals led after Week 2 at 2-0

Good Morning Gerry... Merry Christmas to you and yours.. Any word around the campfire of AR maybe coming back for 26'? He's got the skill set for sure and the O is showing green shoots the last few weeks..  Cheers!

Good morning and Merry Christmas! I have to admit not only am I pleasantly surprised by Aaron Rodgers' leadership and intensity, but I really believe HE is what has changed Tomlin's philosophy of coaching "not to lose". AR challenges play calls, leads by example, and gets fired up if he sees something he doesn't like. So my question, in your opinion does Tomlin revert back to his ultra-conservative ways if the Ravens game matters? Or playoff time? Or even next year if AR retires?  Please tell us no. Its a different team when he doesn't coach in his fears.
Gerry Dulac
10:31
Maybe what is changing Tomlin's mind is some of the success Rodgers and the offense is having. You can't be too daring or too aggressive if you're offense isn't working very well.

10:31
How do you think the Steelers will handle the next 2 weeks if the Ravens lose Saturday?
Gerry Dulac
10:33
I don't think you will see Mike Tomlin rest all his veterans for two weeks, if that's what you're asking. That's a long time for a team to get rusty. Plus, they're playing well, and so is Rodgers. They don't want to slow that down. I can tell you, Rodgers doesn't want to sit for two weeks. That being said, he won't play those guys all the time. Maybe a quarter or two at most, just to keep them in some type of form. Sitting guys for two weeks does more harm that good.

Hi Gerry, the Steelers depth is really showing.  It's been a roller coaster of player decisions and performance this year but doesn't the oft maligned brain trust deserve a lot of credit for improving this team on the fly?
Gerry Dulac
10:33
I would have to say you are right
